£25 at trampoline place and the bloody sub came out after all so could have saved it. Hey ho work tomorrow. Aiming for ns rest of week.
Audit, phew

Unescorted · 02/05/2016 16:27

Hey everyone.

cag glad your dd liked the kangaroo.

I have had a productive weekend - if slightly expensive one. although I like to think of it as a frugal win. I blame Ipsos and her amazing hall. I have stripped the bathroom and the hall of the really nasty anaglypta wall paper (18 hours), sanded back the rag rolled paint underneath (6 hours), primed the plaster/ painted areas (2 hours) and am about to start filling in the holes in the wall followed by my very first ever plastering experience..... can't be any harder than icing a cake really.

I have spent £100 in materials and tools but it would have been so much more expensive to get a decorator in.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/05/2016 16:49

Good for you unescorted. The prep works always the hardest bit.

CremeEggThief · 02/05/2016 16:51

I think I need a nap after reading about your weekend, UnescortedGrin. Fair play to you. Star

Ipsos · 02/05/2016 16:58

Gosh! Unescorted! Well done on all that work. I'm sorry to have started that but I hope it makes you as happy as my hall makes me. It really has lifted my whole mood every single day and made life feel much more like a shiny new thing rather than a bug infested tatty old thing.

PurpleRibbons · 02/05/2016 17:04

Frugal win! Found just over £6 in coat pocket. Treated us to cream tea at National Trust place and we had a very wet walk in the woods. Lots of lovely bluebells & primroses and plenty of puddles for DD to jump in.

CremeEggThief · 02/05/2016 17:39

Sounds perfect, PurpleSmile.

WreckTangled · 02/05/2016 17:55

Spent £5 something getting into birdworld and then dh spent another £5 in the gift shop so LSD considering.

babsmam · 02/05/2016 17:57

Check you out unescorted. I'm inspired to finish my house now. I would like it done by 17 June ideally.
Purple it's awesome finding lost money.

needastrongone · 02/05/2016 18:13

Love it when that happens Purple.

Bloody hell, you have cracked on there unescorted, kudos to you for saving a fortune by doing some graft.

Back early from Wales, they were in an early final. It was like watching a car crash (apart from DD who had more of a mare yesterday morning then rode well for the rest of the weekend). Hopefully the kick up the arse they need to improve in time for next weekend, when it really matters.

Dpony got a lot of attention, as he was really on form, I could have sold him for a small fortune this weekend, which would have been a frugal win, but broken DD's heart Smile

I think the weather is going to improve isn't it? It feels tons warmer.

Not spent anything at all this weekend.

Need to meal plan, I've tons of food in, and brought a lot of salads home too.

Abel and Cole delivered, £40, but accounted for already.

babsmam · 02/05/2016 18:35

Meant to get to the heady heights of 20° next weekend according to the country file forecast yesterday

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 02/05/2016 18:39

Audit without sounding like a misery guts height restrictions are due to safety and needing wedge shoes to be tall enough would not be safe and I wouldn't risk it, also you may find they ask her to remove them and recheck height if its an obvious wedge.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/05/2016 18:44

Are you thinking the safety rails might not hold her in properly?.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 02/05/2016 18:44

Babs I will look forward to that sunshine its v much needed we have some new garden furniture moved here nearly 3yrs ago n promised ourselves new furniture had new patio 2yrs ago n we still hadn't got any all so expensive eventually got a 6-8 seated wooden set from b&m bargains for £200better than the average £800 we had seen, just need cushions now we have a parasol

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 02/05/2016 18:46

Yes fluffy I love fairground rides etc but some of them you certainly rattle around in and I remember being a v v skinny teenager and being tall enough but certainly had scarier rides than my normal sized friends :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/05/2016 18:47

Hi all, sounds very hectic Audit bet you will be glad to get some of your wends back!

Really hope weather does pick up, would like to be able to turn the storage heaters off all together.

Just seen your post about the jodhpurs Need will see how dd gets on with these ones, I have tried her with some before but she struggles with any clothes that feel 'tight' due to some sensory difficulties. The OT has come up with a plan to help with this but am still waiting for the care plan and equipment to come through. Apparently we have to stroke her with a special scratchy sponge every 2 hours for 2 weeks in order to desensitise her Shock Hmm Think we will end up doing it while on holiday in Menorca so will probably get some funny looks pool side Grin Would be amazing if it works though as dd is so restrictive in what she can/will wear.

I have worked all day and managed a NSD. Dd has been at her Nans house and they had a lovely day, been to a street fair and played with her cousins.

needastrongone · 02/05/2016 18:55

No worries girlie, just always message me if you ever need joddy's. The sponge sounds interesting!

Oh please let it get lovely and warm, please please please!!

Where the hell is Collie? Hope you are ok Collie xx

WreckTangled · 02/05/2016 19:07

Saying 23 degrees here by the weekend woo hoo!

CremeEggThief · 02/05/2016 19:20

Ooh I wouldn't like that sponge at all, Girlie. Yikes! I have sensory issues too, but not around what I can wear. I can't stand touching anything soggy or damp, (shudders).

I seem to remember Collie asking about what food to take on holiday, so that's where I presume she is. Can anyone else recall this?

Ursulatodd · 02/05/2016 19:22

Wow! Busy weekends everyone! We've been fairly productive and pressure washed out patio (first time in 7 years - it looks great! Can't wait for warm weather!) £18.46 on hose-pipe connectors.

I sent dh shopping today - he loves going but usually goes to sainsburys and spends a fortune! On request he went to Aldi and stuck religiously to the shopping list! £18.08.

Fluffy I adore your suggestion to register as a cab - didn't even know such a thing was possible - that is some extreme crafty frugaling!!

Cagliostro · 02/05/2016 19:32

Haven't caught up yet. Stressed up to the eyeballs today! DH was supposed to be off, but was asked to work, so he's getting Thursday off instead which is good but it's thrown me all out of whack.

And just went to the freezer to find it defrosting like crazy. Not sure if it's just because it wasn't shut properly - seems like the seal isn't working properly. Argh.

PMS may also be a factor.

babsmam · 02/05/2016 19:50

I think collie is away for the weekend at least.
Deep breath cag. Can you wedge the door shut for now

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/05/2016 19:57

Ahh yes Collie did say something about being away!

Creme yes dd also has extreme reactions to getting water on her clothes! She was with her Grandad one wend and managed to slip and fall into a stream, she then stripped off as couldn't bear the feel of the went clothes Shock Blush my poor dad had to drag her semi naked back across fields to get to the car!! She is getting slightly better as she gets older but still wouldn't put it past her to do that now (she is 10yo!)

CremeEggThief · 02/05/2016 20:06

Ooh, poor DD, Girlie. Just the thought of it makes me want to make you both a niceBrew.

PurpleRibbons · 02/05/2016 20:07

I hope it is warm next weekend, I'm going away with friends for some walking/beer!
I'm feeling a bit freaked out as I saw a large rat stroll through our garden earlier. Have just been out investigating behind the shed and the compost heap, no signs of life so hopefully he was just passing through. How come a rat can get into the garden but we can't attract any hedgehogs to eat up all the slugs?!
