Good luck Cag, we all are rooting for you. Be strong. Allow yourself the feelings you have. Vent if you need. Flowers

Aw wrecked, your poor DD, she really has to go through it doesn't she, poor love? I hope the cream does prove to be fantastic.

North, I really like the sound of both of those soups. You DC's schedule sounds like mine, DS starts his GCSE's in 2 weeks, adding more ferrying to the mix. Smile

I only need sandwich bags today, from Aldi. So a LSD.

And diesel, but I budgeted for that last week and didn't fill up.

PurpleRibbons · 03/05/2016 09:48

I feel strangely sad today. No reason. I think I didn't sleep well thinking about that bloody rat and we're missing DH as he's back at work after we had a lovely long weekend all together. Also I'm going away this weekend and I know I will miss DH and DD which is stopping me from getting excited. I'm being pathetic aren't I?!
Shopping was £67 but a tenner of that was new pants for DH so not too bad for the rest of the groceries. Bought lots of reduced strawberries Smile

lilacclery · 03/05/2016 12:30

Aww purple not pathetic at all. I almost didn't drink at a hen weekend before last because I felt guilty that the lads would not have seen either of their parents all weekend. Instead I came home early the following day.

Would also love the magimix but not in the budget and definitely not for the little I use a food processor anyhow

PurpleRibbons · 03/05/2016 12:37

Thanks lila. I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I get there.
It's raining on my washing Sad

Ursulatodd · 03/05/2016 13:03

BrewCake for you purple. I know those days...'now it's raining on my washing' sums up the feeling perfectly!

I had a spare half hour between an appointment and work today. Almost went to a cafe but sat in the car in the sun reading my kindle and eating a banana instead!

WreckTangled · 03/05/2016 13:10

Well I paid the £70 deposit for dd's party. £2.48 in tesco on tissues (ds has a cold) and squash. £24 on some ridiculous toys but I told the dc they had to pay for them themselves and I transferred the money from their account.

PurpleRibbons · 03/05/2016 13:22

Thanks ursula. I've just wasted an hour watching tv while DD naps instead of doing something useful like housework. I feel better but will regret it later!

lilacclery · 03/05/2016 13:53

Purple you definitely needed that me time. I used to try be as productive as possible while the dc napped, now they don't nap at all Sad

My dd spent some of her birthday money on toys on Fri eve €60, they never ever go the toyshop, in fact she told me the last time she was there was for her friends birthday & that was October. They enjoyed it so much I think it'd be worth saving a bit each week next year for a summer trip to the toyshop. The deal was she could buy something for herself something small for her brother and get some sterling for her holidays and remainder is to go into her credit union account. She's such a sweetie when we praised her for being so good to buy something for her brother, she said don't be telling me I was good for buying Jake something, all the lovely people who gave me the money is who you should be thanking GrinSmileGrin

lilacclery · 03/05/2016 14:40

Hopefully I didn't out myself!

lilacclery · 03/05/2016 15:15

Woo Hoo My dh got a new job, which will deffo help with his mood and his income will be steady too Grin
He had no work today, and a friend rang him and told him about this position. And he got cleaned up and went in for interview and walked out with the job.

Hopefully this will help our marriage too. The conditions of work are better and the employer doesn't have a high staff turnover either.

needastrongone · 03/05/2016 15:42

Purple, we all get these days, mine are when I am tired and don't realise. You were right to sit down and not try to plod on (like I do......like an idiot....)

Brill news lila, really chuffed for you about your DH's job.

£5 in Aldi - floor wipes, freezer bags, rubber gloves and microfibre cloths.

CremeEggThief · 03/05/2016 15:54

That's great news, Lilac. Really pleased for you Smile.

I hope you feel a bit better now, Purple. I'm glad you did something you enjoy instead of housework, during nap time.

NSD.

WreckTangled · 03/05/2016 16:05

Woo hoo lilac great news!

I've had a day a bit like that purple and now I've got a horrendous headache to match my mood Grin

Dinner is the last of the left over roast chicken with pasta and sauce. I'll have some broccoli in mine and a side of salad for all (not that anyone else will eat it!)

babsmam · 03/05/2016 16:22

That's good news about the job lilac.
Purple sometimes you just need to stop and hang out all for a bit

WreckTangled · 03/05/2016 16:33

Argh just spent money! £4.50 on party invitations and £24.99 on one of those little tikes turtle sand pits. It's the cheapest it's ever been on amazon and £39.99 most places.

Whataboutwhathuh · 03/05/2016 17:33

Hello! Back again. Again. We have just com back from our second of two weekends away. I think we've spent about £125 in total over the weekend including fuel so I'm happy with that.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/05/2016 18:07

Hi all, i have been at work so another NSD Smile

Cag hope the meeting goes o.kay Flowers

wreck your poor dd - ouch! Hope the cream helps.

Lila thats good news on the job, I hope things settle a bit for you now.

Purple I used to look forward to dds nap so I could lie on the sofa and watch rubbish Grin it has to be done sometimes!! I miss though days

Em that sounds amazing Envy it must be lovely to get the chance to travel with work, the furthest work ever sends me is about 5 miles up the road Grin

I have just stuffed myself with a bacon salad, would have been quite healthy if I hadn't drenched it in dressing and mayonnaise Wink finished off with chocolate ice cream so as you can see the diet is going really well Grin In my defence I think I am getting a cold and you have to feed a cold

beesarethebest · 03/05/2016 18:26

Great news lilac and sounds like a lovely work trip em

purple it's ok to slack off particularly if it makes you feel great!! :)

Had said meeting this morning. As predicted I had met my targets. Interestingly everyone else seemed to have reasons why they didn't. I didn't say much. It was nice to hear accolades from the usual suspects who always criticise. Unfortunately they won't have me to slag off next time this year!

Made me feel slightly melancholic that this was the last meeting as it were. Sigh.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/05/2016 20:50

Nice to see you have some good news lilac.

bees Onwards and upwards.

£15 whisky for a raffle one of my clients is running.
£10 scraper attachment for the multi tool.
£15 petrol
£4.50 twin pack of coffee.
£1 crisps.
£1 work stuff.
65p soya milk.

Comeonmommy · 03/05/2016 20:55

Nsd today but gotta go to Tesco after the school drop off tomorrow to buy strawberries, raspberries and grapes for dd. I put cut up fruit in plastic shot glasses then fill them up with jelly mix. Both dd and dsd love taking them to school and it means they are eating something nice and healthy.

I also need to buy some brown paper so I can wrap my eBay sales up - first time user and currently 7/10 have sold....very excited!!

blueteapot · 03/05/2016 21:00

Purple I used to cram loads of housework into DS naptime, now DD is the one napping and DS is hit and miss, and very rarely at the same time... kicking myself for all that nap time I could have spent relaxing!

Cag good luck we are with you Flowers

Lilac yay for the new job Im sure you are thrilled Wine

Girlie if we could prescribe chocolate ice cream we'd probably cure a lot more viral illness than we do at present!

Welcome back what :)

Wreck I want one of those turtle sand pits! After I lugged the rotten wooden one back to toys r us in the back of the car I promised myself Id only buy plastic outdoor stuff from now on!

Bees glad you got through your meeting ok Brew

£9 today, bought my friend some lunch. DH withdrew a load of money yesterday as he lost his wallet again and had to cancel his cards, so needed a supply of cash to see him through. Bank balance looking slim for so early in the month, but this is all part of getting used to reduced income I suppose [mildly panicking!]. £47 on tesco delivery. Got 250 extra points with an ecode.

So tired tonight, tomorrow off with the kids makes it all worth it!

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/05/2016 21:09

It's a pity you can't prescribe common sense. That would be AWESOME.

blueteapot · 03/05/2016 21:19

Lol fluffy - no such joy!

Unescorted · 03/05/2016 21:33

Lilac fab news. 👏

Purple the rest is as important as the doing.

Ursulatodd · 03/05/2016 22:04
