Hi cag thanks for the info. Will sort out ppi. Do you want Japanese yen? I have some - just got back from there.

Had a cocktail yesterday and lunch out but the other party paid for it. Nice company and meal.

Just did Morrisons shop - £44.

Jet lagged! Woke up at 4!

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/04/2016 09:56

I'd rather have a glass of nice wine when I'm out than 14 lambrinis.

First It's usually the men who take a while to get used to frugality. Keep on at him & you'll get there.

WreckTangled · 23/04/2016 10:04

I'm a size 10 and wear a 30C. When I was breastfeeding and not so fat (ironically) I wore a 28E. My boobs get bigger at certain times of the month though which is annoying.

Spent £70.15 at tesco but that included a giant tractor for ds at £12 Hmm it was much less stressful than lidl though as I did scan as you shop and there's more space and less people!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/04/2016 10:11

I really need to get my boobs measured at some point, I think I may have gone up a size at some point as all my bras are uncomfortable now!

Em I would have gone mad if someone did that to me Angry I stopped drinking a while ago as even small amounts of alcohol made me feel ill, I wonder if it is related to having my gallbladder out years ago as my tolerance never seemed to recover. I have one friend who can't get her head round it all but generally most people accept it fine now, in fact quite a lot of my friends have stopped drinking as well!

Ememem84 · 23/04/2016 10:31

It's just bizarre that so many people seem to associate havin a good time with getting absolutely steaming drunk. I'd much rather have a good time then wake up feeling normal the next day not with my head in the toilet. Don't get me wrong I did my fair share of partying and drinking while I was at uni. Maybe that's why I'm getting such horrific hangovers now (after a couple of glasses of wine). Maybe it's all catching up with me!!

Was just chatting to Dh. We've made a pact to be healthier. Starting today (after white bread sausage and egg sandwiches...).

Only eating meat occasionally. More veggies. More fruit. More yummy food. Taking better care of ourselves we've been a bit slack with this recently and it's no suprise that I've had this lingering blocked nose sinus thing for a while

More outdoors life. Less tv. Less sitting around. Starting from now. Right now. she says while watching Saturday morning to with a cup of the earl grey...

Cagliostro · 23/04/2016 10:50

Ohhh yes please Bees a Japanese coin would be very well received! DD is anime mad (as am I :o) and we're learning to speak/write it (albeit very slowly). Thank you very much :) Thanks x

Dd is welcome to these.

If it's not just coins she's collecting I can also offer a jersey £1 note.

Aw wow! Thanks so much. I will PM address in a moment. She's only had coins so far although I'm sure I have an American dollar bill somewhere from a friend. She will particularly like that octagonal one - the first foreign coin she found (on a pavement!) was this shape, I'm sure that's what made her so interested in the first place! :)

Actually I just remembered Girlie your DD collects foreign coins too doesn't she? 'Twould not be right to hog them all myself, perhaps we could split them/swap duplicates (I'm sure DD has more than one of some things) :)

And on another similarly nerdy note :o Happy Shakespeare's Birthday! I feel one quote in particular is very apt for many of us:

“Let me embrace thee, sour adversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.”

babsmam · 23/04/2016 12:10

Em a friend of mine is allergic to sulphides and gets massive wine hangovers but is fine on other drinks.
Sorry I have no coins to offer except euros later in the year.

babsmam · 23/04/2016 12:11

£46 on bleeding school shoes. One day dc will stop growing. £40 in sainsburys and it was £47 last night.

Cagliostro · 23/04/2016 12:34

Ah babs sympathies on the school shoes. Must admit I don't miss that expense. DD currently lives in Asda trainers, Tesco ankle boots and some hand me down Converse. I hate shoe shopping, always feel really hot and bothered. Still need to replace my threadbare trainers, tried going into Sport and Soccer the other day but gave up in despair!

DD already has Euros from my mum but thank you :) Thanks DD's new hobby has made me realise how many individual currencies have disappeared because of the Euro!

There's a new currency exchange shop in town opening soon. Do you reckon they'd let us change individual coins? :o

Spends yesterday too much:
£19.85 - books for DCs
£32.25 Kidzania tickets
£5 DH socks (he's the only one that's bought any clothes this year, which is good going I think - but he definitely needed them as he goes through socks so fast, due to running etc)
£6.30 coop (was DH but I forgive him since part of that was chocolate for me :o)

DH went to get my prescriptions as I'd had a text saying they were ready. Turns out they haven't done my amitriptyline. I'm nearly out. Did the GP contact me to say they weren't doing it? Did they hell. Hmm

WreckTangled · 23/04/2016 12:45

Oh no Cag they must have missed it off. You can phone 111 for an emergency prescription or hour regular pharmacy might be able to give you two tablets to last until Monday

Unescorted · 23/04/2016 13:15

Afternoon.

Cag we have AU$1, CAN$2, and some random euro/ cents. that your dd can have.

I have had a frugal fail - home dyed my hair and it has come out orange instead of chocolate brown. All suggestions on how to tone it down before monday are welcome. I do not suit orange.

babsmam · 23/04/2016 13:19

Frugal win £35 back off jet2 holidays ID forgotten about.
Unescorted fairy liquid as a shampoo to strip the colour. Not sure if you can or should try another die but then I haven't done mine for yonks

Cagliostro · 23/04/2016 13:20

Ah thanks Wreck - thankfully I would only run out after the weekend so it should be fine if I phone the GP on Monday. But very useful info for the future! It seems to be because I'm due a review, but when that's happened in the past they've contacted me. I also just realised they only put one nasal spray in the script that DH picked up. I specifically asked if they'd be able to do more than one at a time due to cost, and they have given me two at a time before anyway! Although hopefully we will be back on an exemption certificate soon as DH is now getting WTC. Which would be an enormous help - was saying to my friend just the other day that if I'd not had one when I was having treatment at St Barts, I wouldn't have been able to afford to go, as it was £30 a day for the travel. Being ill is expensive :o

Also forgot to reply to babs earlier, thank you for the advice re: lesson fee! The room hire is £9.something an hour, I've asked them for clarification about other charges such as insurance, but I also think there's a discount for regular hirers so if it turns out to be a regular thing it could work out a little cheaper.

Resources, I'm not sure how to quantify. I have a lot of maths resources already that I've acquired over the years (stuff like Numicon, beanbags with numbers on, board/card games). I'm expecting to have to print a lot, but I'm looking at the Instant Ink subscription at the middle rate (£3.49 a month) so that won't really have much impact (I do need to buy the printer, £40ish, but we would be doing that anyway). But there will be a lot of time preparing in between lessons - preparing lesson plans, marking homework, designing projects etc. Which I do really enjoy but also if it takes a significant amount of time I don't want to lose out either!

Unescorted · 23/04/2016 13:22

babs thanks - I will report back!

Cagliostro · 23/04/2016 13:25

X-post Unescorted! Thank you very much Thanks x

Just realised my prescription cost sounds ridiculously entitled! Blush Don't mean to sound like a spoiled brat honest Blush

Prescription cost rant I meant

OP posts:
Unescorted · 23/04/2016 13:30

Being ill is shit at the best of times, even when it isn't any more expensive than buying lemsip.

Cagliostro · 23/04/2016 13:31

Gah also meant to say the time outside lessons is new to me - in that for piano I don't need to do anything between lessons other than occasionally looking something up, or deciding what to introduce next etc. So I've no idea what 'value' that time has IYSWIM

Ememem84 · 23/04/2016 14:01

Fucking frugal fail. S'cuse my language.

Got caught speeding. So have to go and present myself at the parish hall. Have my wrists slapped say I'm sorry and pay a fine.

The copper was lovely though. Very attractive. And really apologetic for having to caution me. But he expects that I'll be looking at a £75 fine. Balls. Balls balls.

No point in arguing it though. He has me on camera talking to him. (He had a camera on his coat).

Ememem84 · 23/04/2016 14:03

cag you have to pay for prescriptions? We get them free here....

But have to pay about £40 a time to visit my GP.

WreckTangled · 23/04/2016 14:14

Oh no em! Private gp consultation here is £55 plus the cost of medication. Thank god for the NHS.

Ememem84 · 23/04/2016 14:24

Woah £55!? Actually. Thinking about it. Ours are subsidised. So no idea of the actual cost.

Dh and I are off for a wander around local historical site. We have an annual memberships So feel we should go...
