Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

We found the stick man in the woods. (Have edited my dc out of the photo but, I'm sure you'll all agree, I've done such a good job you can hardly notice!)

Subtle photo editing there wreck.

£10.80 in morrisons but checkoutsmart will pay me £7.80 back. So £3 for two packs of bacon, 2 bottles of cider and two of beer.

£72 on a Webber bbq but dh will give me half. Just need to hit wilkos for burger cage things & fire lighters. Am quite excited.

Found it online £12 cheaper but I'm trying to not dwell on that.

Ipsos · 09/04/2016 19:51

Cag Thanks so much for the recommendation of the DVD the other day. We watched it today and found it fascinating. I didn't know most of it myself.

Need I'm so sorry to hear about the riding accident. Your dd is a credit to you riding in those kinds of sports and managing to deal with that kind of setback.

Lucsy I'm not a big fan of camping myself, I must admit.

We had a quiet NSD kind of day.

WreckTangled · 09/04/2016 20:06

I just got dh life insurance. Caused a big argument because he doesn't see the point. I don't care though at least I'll be rich if he dies.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2016 20:07

That's the spirit.

It's not like they can divorce you for it.

Colliefeatures · 09/04/2016 20:11

Wreck love the photo! Looks so fun! PS - I could never cope in a supermarket with 2 DCs. Brew

Fluffy I've promised DH a new BBQ for his birthday! Cannot wait Grin

Don't sounds like a lovely day!

Colliefeatures · 09/04/2016 20:14

Wreck haha!!! Grin

babsmam · 09/04/2016 20:22

Great Editting wreck. You would never know there is anything other than stick man in that picture

EvaDelectorskaya · 09/04/2016 20:32

That's sounds awful need, hope you're ok.

Yesterday's spends:
€14 on cake, expensive but it was fab, coffee and walnut, usually there's loads leftover when we have cake at work as people don't want to indulge but every bite of this one was eaten!

Today:
€48 on groceries.

HairsprayQueen · 09/04/2016 20:48

Great pic wreck lol

They put our stick man right in the tree so you can barely see him, I was most disappointed!

£21 food shop
£10 karate
£6 wine

Amazing April Austerity.
PurpleRibbons · 09/04/2016 21:04

Grrr keep losing posts. Exhausted from furniture assembly but it's almost done! Had to send DH out for beer and chocolate but that's the only money we've spent today.
Love the stick man pics!

Ememem84 · 09/04/2016 21:22

I may have done something stupid. A lovely friend has tickets to Royal ascot. Royal enclosure. She's asked if Dh and would like to be her guests.

I've agreed. So will have to source a dress. A hat and flights to London. (Hoping my avios can cover/get money off). #backtoglamalam

I'm hopeful other lovely friend can lend me a hat. hopeful dsis has a dress I can borrow. Or dm. (It'll be vintage then...) and it'll have to match existing shoes. The frugal part of me says turn it down. The other part says you'll probably never be invited to it again. So go for it.

beesarethebest · 09/04/2016 21:23

lucsy I've never been camping and I'm 42!!! Blush my kids will probably never do camping unless their father takes them, or if they do it with school or some club. I cannot understand camping in this country. Grin

Ememem84 · 09/04/2016 21:27

lucsy I hate camping. Been once. Not my thing. Too many bugs and sleeping on the floor.

I love campfires and bbqs and drinking wine watching the sunset. But no living outdoors.

WreckTangled · 10/04/2016 06:52

Thanks I think a new career in photo editing is on the cards for me Wink

Neither things from yesterday are showing on my topcashback yet usually they show within minutes. Hope I'm not going to have to chase them.

Should be a nsd today dh is working and ds has a party to go to.

babsmam · 10/04/2016 07:29

Em get your glad rags on and go.

AdoraBell · 10/04/2016 07:38

Go for it em

I also hate camping, with a passion. And no one is a bad parent for not doing something they cannot afford.

today will be non spend as I am still awake. As in not slept at all since waking up yesterday. So I doubt I'll be going anywhere. Yesterday I had to collect something that arrived while we were away. The shop had held it for me. It was £24.

WreckTangled · 10/04/2016 07:51

Em go for it it'll be so fun!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/04/2016 07:56

Wreck

Mine took longer than usual, don't forget to get Tcb to price match quidco. I'm hoping to get another £5 plus a top up.

WreckTangled · 10/04/2016 08:11

Thanks I won't. I'll give it a week then chase it and price match

PurpleRibbons · 10/04/2016 09:06

Morning all. Phase 2 of the flat packing is underway, I'm leaving DH to get on with it while I play with DD so I'm a bit scared about how it will turn out but looking forward to it being finished so we can tidy up.
Should be NSD today but the sun is shining and I expect we'll end up having some sort of treat later!

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 10/04/2016 09:14

Should be a NSD here.

Woke up at silly o clock- 6.30am when I'd didn't have to. I pottered about until DS woke up and frightened life out of me sneaking up and saying good morning. He has that well practiced lol.

He's off to his dad's today for two nights so between that and work most likely two NSD in a row.

I've no plans for today except to chill out and maybe read some books I've downloaded for free.. my friend introduced me to this amazing website. You can pay an annual fee and download what you like. Anything they don't have you can request and they'll find it. It's brilliant.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 10/04/2016 09:15

The annual fee is minimum a £1 or whatever you see fit as a donation.

Whataboutwhathuh · 10/04/2016 09:57

Thanks for the isa tip, DH and I are both doing it. That'll be nice when it pays out!

Yesterday spent £20 on a birthday cake for a friend and some beers for the party. SIL babysat so that was free. Which was good!

northender · 10/04/2016 10:05

lucsy camping is definitely something you need to enjoy not something you do because you feel you have to be a good parent. If it's not your thing then forget it. Your dc will not take the wrong path in life because they haven't been camping with you.
wreck well done on dh's stealthily bought life assurance!
need that sounds like a horrible experience, hope today passes without incident
bees it was ipsos who sold books for a decent amount and found it all went very smoothly. I was inspired by that but have found that most of my books don't seem to be recognised by the search tool on the site. Not sure what type of books ipsos was selling.
em Ascot sounds great, good luck with the dress hunt

Took your advice fluffy and went out for meal & drinks with dh on Friday. It's the first time we've been out on our own for ages and was lovely. Due to dd's difficulties making friends, it was the first sleepover she has done and she was so excited but unfortunately it didn't go too well Sad so won't be happening again for a while. Dd is an amazing girl and gets on brilliantly with adults but really struggles with her peers. I really hope at high school she will find some like minded girls and settle.
Yesterday spent around £80 on grocery shopping then did some de cluttering at home. As we're going to have the loft done, we're trying to sort through all the boxes and bags now, a mammoth task!
Dh is going to the tip this morning with dd helping. Then after more sorting through boxes, we're going to stock up on seeds and plants for the garden at the local plant nursery.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
