Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

Well not me. Check the american express gold business card offer out. We did it last year.

Thinking of doing it again now.

fluffy, I've downloaded the shopping apps while we break for lunch, thanks for the heads up.

Not frugal but had a pre packaged salad but it's all about making easy while you are away.

First session went well Dpony was fab, this is why we bought him, he keeps up and out paces ponies that cost £10k when he didn't cost a tenth of that, I have gone wild and given him a carrotSmile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/04/2016 12:50

Have had a quiet morning and just spent last hour sorting out my wardrobe, have been fairly ruthless and am chucking anything not worn in last year (well apart from posh dresses that i'll keep on the off chance I will get invited to someones wedding!)

Also need to sort through airing cupboard, everything is in heaps and its virtually impossible to see the wood for the trees iykwim!

Good thing about moving is it def motivates you to have a proper clear out Grin

PMT and dd being awkward collided this morning and I lost my temper Sad she was arguing with me that she will not have the flu jab which I have told her given recent events that she has to have. Red mist descended and I really shouted at her have since apologised but I think she now understands my point!

Dd is going riding this arvo for this first time since being ill, will be nice to see her back with the horses. That is £15 but no other spends planned.

Need hope dpony continues to behave himself!

Taytocrisps · 09/04/2016 12:57

Our Tesco delivery arrived. It worked out at €114.43 including a €7 delivery charge. That's approx. £92. The delivery service is brilliant. It was all delivered and unpacked in about 10 minutes without me putting a foot outside the door. I don't know why I didn't think of it before.

They gave me some free jam doughnuts -I'd already ordered custard ones- but there's a cake sale locally tomorrow, so I may donate the extra doughnuts to it. There was just one substitution (pork chops) but they did a price match, so I got a bigger pack for the same price Smile.

The most expensive items were:-

wine €9
dishwasher tablets €8.24 (should last over a month though)
Surf €6.85

Wine is definitely not an essential item and I've just calculated that one bottle of wine a week at €9 adds up to €468 over a year, so I think I will make it a monthly treat rather than a weekly treat.

lila I'll look into the delivery saver option you mentioned.

Taytocrisps · 09/04/2016 13:00

Strikethrough doesn't seem to be working anymore!

CremeEggThief · 09/04/2016 13:50

Hurrah for Need's pony! Star

Welcome back, Adora. We were wondering where you were.Smile

Fluffy, do you know if you can transfer money to this new ISA from an existing ISA?

Girlie, moving soon is a great incentive for decluttering. I got rid of loads, both before and after moving in 2013.

Spends: £25 on eyebrow, bikini and leg wax, with a £1 tip and 60p on a Bounty. Tayto, wine has become my monthly treat now and chocolate is my weekly one.Smile

needastrongone · 09/04/2016 14:22

Grin at the Bounty creme!

Thanks, it may be a car crash next session.

Just watched a dreadful accident, two ponies colliding in a race. One pony broke its neck. The riders been taken to hospital. The discipline DD does is really fast and furious and the ponies on the loopy side so accidents quite often happen, especially when so wet, but seeing one die is extremely rare. Feel quite deflated.

girlie, moving is a brilliant time to declutter. I was ruthless. I still can't fathom out how we've now accumulated loads more, we are definitely not hoarders. Smile

CremeEggThief · 09/04/2016 14:41

Gosh, sorry to hear that, Need. I hope you and DD are okay.Brew Poor pony.Sad

I was supposed to be doing chores. But appear to have been sucked in to watching the grand national coverage.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/04/2016 15:22

Thats horrible Need Sad poor pony.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2016 16:15

Creme

I don't know, you'd need to check the t&c. It's a stocks and shares one so its different rules slightly, the value can go down slightly so my £90 might be worth £88 in 4 months but for a £100 I'm willing to sacrifice it.

Need That's awful. Poor pony.

babsmam · 09/04/2016 16:23

Oh no need poor pony and rider. Hope it didn't suffer and the rider is not too badly hurt

Ememem84 · 09/04/2016 16:35

need that's awful. Poor thing. What event does dd do?

My pony gave another one a proper kick today while we were in our lesson. If I hadn't been hanging on I'd have fallen off. She's never done that before so it scared me a bit.

Have just popped a £2 bet on the 150/1 runner in the national. Worth a shot right....

Colliefeatures · 09/04/2016 16:48

BT said they've taken ownership of my complaint & will investigate asap! Thank goodness.

girlie we got rid of heaps of stuff when we moved last year. The amount we had hoarded was actually scary! Some clothes I found were size 6 from 10 years ago Grin (I'm a size 12 now)

Awww poor pony! Sad

Our only spend today was £7 on DHs hair cut. :)

WreckTangled · 09/04/2016 16:57

need that's so sad Sad

Creme I pay that just for a bikini wax Envy

We've had a lovely afternoon in the forest. £3 parking. Then popped into sainsburys and spent £12 something on a new swimsuit for dd (they start swimming at school next term), a nice pudding, onion rings and garlic bread.

beesarethebest · 09/04/2016 17:21

need sounds bad!!!

A very quick qn about selling books... Any of you use any of those book selling apps and if so, which would you recommend? Abit like music magpie but for books?

I've had to declutter the books as we are having a new fireplace put in and I'm in 2 minds whether to just donate to local village hall that sells on books or make some money (even a few quid would be great!!).

£16 for dd's haircut, £22 on Chinese supermarket shop.

CremeEggThief · 09/04/2016 17:30

webuybooks.com. I've made over £200 from them, in a few stints. They take cds, dvds and games too, Bees.

OP posts:
needastrongone · 09/04/2016 17:32

Thanks. We are done for the day, a tougher second session but DD still did pretty well. They've gone up an age category this year as a team, so starting at the bottom again. The accident shook everyone up.

It's mounted games Em, if you have a quick search on YouTube that will show you what it involves.

I am sorry, never sold books. Usually give to charity.

needastrongone · 09/04/2016 17:36

Ponies kicking can be frightening. Hope you are ok. Ours doesn't like his space being invaded if he doesn't know the other pony. And will lift his leg if you brush too hard, but he gets told off for that.

I wondered if they still did swimming lessons with school, assume they do thenSmile

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2016 17:40

I think Ipsos sold some old books & got a tidy sum.

Ime text books or technical manuals sell really well.

There's fat brain too.

CremeEggThief · 09/04/2016 17:40

I hope you can both take it easy tonight, Need (and DD) and Em.Wine

OP posts:
Ememem84 · 09/04/2016 17:41

So. Ive come second in our work sweep for the national. And my 100-1 (not 150) came in third. So I'll get something back.

Ememem84 · 09/04/2016 17:45

need mounted games looks brilliant!!! I'm going to see if anyone here does it. And maybe go and watch.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 09/04/2016 18:15

We've been out for the day..

Circus and popcorn/candyfloss and drinks.. 11 quid altogether and we sat on front row was amazing.

We then did the dungeons and a play area which cost nothing due to our annual passes. Ds is 5 and was a bit scared but not overall. It was rather interesting!

We then had a treat tea at good ole mcds.. 3.98 spent there for us both (1.99 sandwich deals) and he won a free drink on the monopoly stickers.

Bus fair was £6 altogether to town and back.. Didn't dare sneak Ds on as under five again ha ha he's grown! Parking would have been as much though.
