Card factory are fab, mil has converted us all on to them.

Mse email is live, one more day to get £150 from Clydesdale or Yorkshire bank for switching.

£150. For fuck all work and it isn't taxed.

MoneyForNothing · 29/03/2016 22:30

I already use Shopitize, Click Snap, Snap & Save, CheckoutSmart and Receipt Hog. I'd say I use Shopitize the most but I don't buy stuff for the sake of it as otherwise it's money-spending not money-saving Wink, so I only cash out maybe once a month at most.

I'll check out MSE for coupons too. I'll be like those extreme couponers in the US who get $400 of shopping for $6 Grin.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/03/2016 22:36

Could you switch current accounts?. Halifax paid out in 5 days.

WreckTangled · 30/03/2016 06:40

Minimal spends today. Need squash and that's it oh and replacements for the plug in vapour thing as it helps ds loads.

babsmam · 30/03/2016 07:39

Nsd planned. Mot on car tomorrow though. Payday tomorrow too , thank goodness

Ememem84 · 30/03/2016 08:05

Nsd planned.

Dh mentioned holidays last night. I've so far refused to talk about it. I asked him whether the bathroom was finished yet.. I am desperate to book the holiday but must stay strong and get my priorities in order. Bathroom is a necessity. Holiday is a nice to have

northender · 30/03/2016 08:24

Welcome money
Well done on the loan wolf
I like your leaving present idea Em
Yesterday was an NSD. Today won't be as I'm taking dd to the Trafford Centre for the first time. She has money to take with her but we'll have lunch there and there are some things I could do with.
We had a meeting with ds' head teacher yesterday which went well. He apologised for how things were done and is going to speak to ds personally today. Thank you for all your support, it really helped.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/03/2016 08:26

How much work are we talking?. Complete re-furbishment or quick redecorate?.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/03/2016 09:21

Morning all Smile

Had a text this morning to say I have had my mortgage offer agreed and that it will be sent out shortly! Quite exciting, do you think they will email it? Am finding it all a bit confusing how the HA, solicitor and mortgage people all communicate with each other!

Plan for today is to see the Dr for me this morning and hope he will take pity and sign me off work for this week, not sure how it works for extended carers leave but will see what he says. Need to pop into post office and thats about it so far, have a Morrisons delivery booked for later today that was £50 but included a fair amount of cleaning things plus my last shop was nearly 2 weeks ago.

I made a carrot soup the other day, literally cooked a load of carrots blitzed them up and added stock and small amount of soy sauce and it tasted lovely!

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/03/2016 09:31

It'll be sent out to you, you'll have to send it back.

How exciting.

Colliefeatures · 30/03/2016 09:49

I love Dylan Moran too. Didn't recognise it!

Going out for coffee with a friend who owes me £20. Phew!

Girlie it'll come by post! Yay! Grin

Cagliostro · 30/03/2016 10:34

Yay Girlie! It's all getting so real now, how exciting! :o Maybe you could spend some of DD's restful time off snuggled up and planning your new house? :)

My new pupils for this morning are ill so financially not great, but am also partly glad as I am having a really bad week, pain-wise. I'm a bit annoyed with myself for topping up DD's bus pass as we're barely using it while all the activities are off for Easter.

DH enjoyed his first day and apparently they were very pleased with his productivity. They're also talking about training him in a particular part of the shop, which would mean a slight pay rise, and also more early shifts - which would be better for us as a family because he'll be back earlier. :) I am hopeful that he will be able to do what he did for a different company before he hurt his back, which was starting as a Christmas temp and working his way up to store manager in under 5 years. :)

WreckTangled · 30/03/2016 11:48

That sounds good Cag!

Exciting news girlie Smile

£20 petrol resisted all the eggs which were 75% off Shock massive posh eggs for only £2.50.

Returned library books, paid the dc's Easter money into the bank.

£7 in boots on vapour plug in refills and cradle cap shampoo, never bought it before but ds is really suffering so I thought it's worth a try.

£3 something in tesco on squash, jelly babies, vegetable crisps mmm and five mini eggs Blush

Badders123 · 30/03/2016 11:54

Spoke to county hall and it's as I thought - casuals don't get paid for school hols Sad
I'm going to be put on contract when I get back after Easter so should get my month in arrears back too
Feel slightly better but doesn't help me this month Sad
Just taken boys to local cafe - £7 and top up shop at co op - £7
Got £35 of my Easter hols fund left but they want to go to cinema next week so need to keep it for that

Badders123 · 30/03/2016 11:55

Oh, and if anyone has any tips for a cheap way to make/buy roof blinds for a conservatory please tell me!!!!
Cheapest quote is £1500 Sad

Cagliostro · 30/03/2016 12:06

What a nightmare Badders :( DH isn't getting paid til May despite starting this week, so I sympathise.

Cagliostro · 30/03/2016 12:07

Also is there a particular film the DCs want to see? As if they aren't fussed the Movies for Juniors cheap showing type things are usually every day in school holidays rather than just the weekends.

WreckTangled · 30/03/2016 12:29

I was going to suggest that too Cag. It makes the cinema less than £10 as opposed to £40!

Badders123 · 30/03/2016 12:36

They want to see Kung fu panda 3 ;)
The most spendy one, no doubt!
Obv putting me on contract after easter means they don't have to pay me for this holiday :( grr.

Cagliostro · 30/03/2016 12:40

Ah yes we want to see that too! We love the first one especially the 'whooshy finger' - SKIDOOOOSH! Blush

I swear I am actually a grown up

Badders123 · 30/03/2016 12:51

Pixar films are one of the perks of parenthood :)
We are currently watching penguins of Madagascar on DVD....soooo funny

SpaceKablooie · 30/03/2016 12:54

Cag, what about re-thinking your T&Cs? If a pupil can't come to as session, they still pay (but if you can't offer a session, they don't). I think that would be completely reasonable, as long as you've told everyone beforehand.

WreckTangled · 30/03/2016 12:56

I agree Cag. I still pay for dd's swimming when she doesn't go.

EvaDelectorskaya · 30/03/2016 13:03

Hope everyone had a nice Easter break.
That’s ridiculous Badders, that you won’t get your pay for so long.

Just catching up on my spends from the last few days now:

Tuesday-
€15 in Tesco
€30 in butchers

Monday –
€35 in Lidl

Sunday –
€4 in local shop

I need to buy a new hairdryer as mine is broken and it’s an urgent purchase as my hair needs a hairdryer! But I’m going to be sensible and price around online for the one that I want instead of immediately going to the shop near my work that stocks it. And my sister has helpfully lent me hers for a few days in the meantime!

Cagliostro · 30/03/2016 13:06

Badders I'm going to make a twat of myself now and show my ASD-pedantry, but those films aren't Pixar Blush [runs away] they are Dreamworks! I agree though - I love animation :o and actually DH and I had a lot of DVDs of that ilk before we even had DCs. Blush

Space I'm thinking about it, but I'm really not sure. I do PAYG lessons rather than termly which means it's more flexible, which is essential for me anyway as due to my health issues I may have to cancel a lot. I don't know. I think so far the fact I'm flexible has helped me as particularly with my home schooled pupils (we home ed, and a lot of my pupils are too) there are often events on and I don't want people to worry about attending IYSWIM. I'm also very upfront about not having a teaching qualification so it's all very casual. I am thinking about it though - maybe a deadline for cancelling/rearranging, like the day before or something?
