Aiming for a nsd. Not planning on doing anything apart from housework etc today.

Ememem84 · 22/02/2016 07:47

just paid £300 off my credit card. Smile

Other that that should be a LSD. I think we have lunch coming in at work (am sure they've organised a seminar and sandwiches but it might not be today...) so I might grab a soup as well.

Gym tonight.

Upstairs neighbours had their washing machine on until about 2am this morning (despite knowing that it's not allowed to be on after 9pm) and their kitchen is directly above my bedroom. Have texted their landlord and have told them that it's happened again. Have also informed the management company but have pointed out that I don't mind so much if it's a Friday or a Saturday. Just not on a "school" night.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/02/2016 09:23

Finally caught up! Now forgotten who I was going to reply to!

Nsd weds, thurs paid bus fare £5 went to stars wars toy exhibition at local museum and park. Fri went to town train £4.20 tea and cakes £4 new jeans £15 party present £4.99 £2 in Wilkinson. No spend weekend and not planning to spend today as going to work soon.

fuzzpig · 22/02/2016 09:35

Wow that sounds horrendous, re: rent increases. :(

Spent yesterday getting a fair bit sorted out (well mostly DH and the DCs, I did easy stuff) so need to continue that today while I'm still feeling motivated. Hoping DH can move some furniture tonight (I figured out where the stuff from the DCs' room can go - it'll actually be better this way as it'll contain all our home ed supplies) but he's popping into the recruitment agency on the way home so will be later.

Have gotten really behind with frugaleering, am Blush as I've been so distracted. Determined to carry on with the thread though and have meal planned etc so haven't forgotten all my resolutions.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 22/02/2016 10:05

Well I survived Ikea. £132, which was much better than I thought. Got all on my list, and only spent £38 extra on other stuff. Then rolled into the back of a car at a very busy roundabout, no damage to her car at all but I scared her childrenSad. She took my number, and said she'd get her car checked. Was doing about 3mph. Ruined the day for me totally.

Then £10 on milk and bits on the way home. Felt very flat as I hate it when I make mistakes, and have been very anxious since.

Spending today tackling the clothes mountain. Will find something in the freezer for tea.

lilacclery · 22/02/2016 12:15

Knitting I hope you're feeling better about little tip now. No damage done, nobody hurt, story could be a lot worse.

Yesterday was a nsd as I didn't leave the house I expect to have nsd's up as far as thurs

babsmam · 22/02/2016 12:15

Well that was spendy. About £100 on food.

I'd I've rear ended loads of people take photos of your car with a date time stamp even if there is no damage. Write down what happened and dig out your insurance details and give them a call.

CremeEggThief · 22/02/2016 12:30

Just booked train and Travelodge for 2 nights in London for Easter weekend. My brother and his partner live there and my sister, BIL and niece are coming from Ireland. I went through Topcashback. The train comes to just under £90, with our family railcard, and Travelodge with breakfast is £110. So £200 for Easter weekend in London is quite decent really.

lilacclery · 22/02/2016 12:40

Sounds lovely Creme

colliepirate · 22/02/2016 12:40

I'm so flipping cold!

Heating is on = frugal fail.

We submitted meter readings on Saturday afternoon (we have started to do it weekly) and we used £16 gas/elec in 1 week.

One week until payday Grin

WreckTangled · 22/02/2016 12:53

Knitting poor you I did similar recently no damage so it was all ok but I felt awful for ages.

Creme what nights are you going?! I'll be in London 24th 25th and I just came on to say I was really pleased with a deal I got. I'd already booked the Hilton Canary Wharf for £152 on booking.com then realised Hilton do a public sector discount so went through them and got it for £107! I'm really pleased, going with a friend so she will be paying half.

Well I've folded all the washing, washed and dried the bedding (need to put it back on) cleaned the washing machine, hoovered all of downstairs and half cleaned the kitchen.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 22/02/2016 13:24

Trip to hospital for ds2 hospital eye check made all more fun by road closure due to sat burst water pipe caused issues with gas pipe too so closed til wed anyway parked at cinema for free and walked.

But My poor baby has to have glasses he has a squint which is pretty permanent now and slightly Long sighted so got prescription from hospital today and nowv need to shop around for glasses he gets a NHS voucher towards frames but think the more robust comfy baby ones like tomato brand are mega money so will see they didn't find me funny when I asked who supplied the gaffer tape to keep them on!! (I have nurses sense of humor and forget others don't always get it!!)

WreckTangled · 22/02/2016 13:25

Which travelodge creme?

babsmam · 22/02/2016 14:03

Sorry if I sounded flippant there knitting. What I didn't add before was I burst into tears v back at home/ work each time.
East hope you get sorted with glasses

lilacclery · 22/02/2016 14:10

You just reminded me east ds broke/old age caused my glasses to break on Sat, this is my last pair of good ones. Must hunt out my HSE free ones as I can't be wearing contacts every single day.

I'm entitled to another pair of the €59 ones included in my contact lense package or I can upgrade to a more expensive pair. I think I will wait and upgrade.

Wow east I just looked up tomato brand they're saucy pardon the punGrin

spotty do you work parttime or do shift work? You seem to have a nice blend of going to work and being at home

WreckTangled · 22/02/2016 14:13

I work tues and Friday mornings. Hoping to add a 9-2:30 day in there in the next few weeks just waiting for the system to be up and running on the computer!

lilacclery · 22/02/2016 14:48

Nice blend. Sorry just realised I called you by your old name wreckwreckwreck getting it into my pea brain

CremeEggThief · 22/02/2016 14:50

Wreck, it's the one in the Docklands, very near where we lived when DS was a baby. We're going the 25th and staying with my brother that night and then in then in the Travelodge the 26th and 27th. Your deal on the Hill on is fab!

I cleaned the fridge, draining rack and sink and then I dusted the whole house and cleaned the screens and mirrors. I even did the Venetian blinds, not that you would notice. Seriously thinking of getting nets to replace the 2 blinds in our bedrooms and just keeping the wooden Venetian in the sitting room. I hate dusting! It is so unrewarding for the effort you put in. I can only bring myself to do it every 2 or 3 weeks. I sometimes ponder getting a cleaner just for dusting and wiping down all the doors and woodwork!

CremeEggThief · 22/02/2016 14:51
  • Hilton!
Ipsos · 22/02/2016 14:52

East I had my squint eye corrected with exercises by visiting an specialist, but she was not known by the NHS system so I would not have been given a referral if I'd not found her online myself. You can find people who do the particular treatment it at this website: www.covd.org/
I think it's well worth trying it before considering surgery or anything. It worked a treat on me.

We're still going strong here. Tired from all the work this week but it still seems to be working. Ds very chatty. Smile

Spendy day today as we had lunch out. £14. Just library and top up shop other than that.

WreckTangled · 22/02/2016 15:05

We have voiles in our front windows, the windows are really big and look out to the road. They don't make blinds big enough for the Windows so it was our only choice but they look fine. Must wash them.

Creme maybe I will pass you somewhen Wink

fuzzpig · 22/02/2016 15:43

Yikes Knitting that sounds horrible. Take it easy today Thanks Brew

Allgunsblazing · 22/02/2016 15:50

£5 on passport photos.
I am making a big curry tonight, with naan and samosas and bhagis.
NSD tomorrow as well, hopefully, then I get paid.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/02/2016 16:00

Dunelm do voile roller blinds. I love voiles but dh hates them and it is half his house legally

knitted We've all done it, roundabouts seem to be accident black spots. Especially ikea ones because everyone's tired and grumpy. That last hissed row in the candle/kitchen section breaks everyone.

East Poor baby! I think you should ask for superglue instead. Can't shampoo him with gaffer tape on.

£4 work stuff.
£3.50 pink beads for a light fitting long story
£12 on more work stuff.

£2.81 on cooked turkey but I'll get £2.60 back off topcashback.

Lounge table lamps shade is broken after dh manhandled it one too many times. Will superglue it and look for designers guild fabric remnants to hot glue on.

CremeEggThief · 22/02/2016 16:04

I won't be getting the nets or volies for a while, but cheers for the tips. I have to admit they do look much better now they have been dusted, but they're not perfect and there's still some dust on them.
