Bacon and waffles look lovely.

Back from training. £600 cheque for saddle written out. However, old saddle is being bought for £100 and resale value for the new one is £450 plus, so I'm feeling ok with the outlay, as I can see a proportion coming back.

£6 training itself. £2 drink of tea and a coffee and a bun.

Chicken broth for tea, with Yorkshire Puds, yummy. I've made stock from the carcasses in another SC, and we had wraps on Friday.

mario What exactly are they planning on doing for the trip? I always think boots of some description are more comfortable and better than wellies. Have you checked Ebay?

Ememem84 · 21/02/2016 17:21

mario I agree. Boots would be better over wellies. I bought wellies and a pair of "country" boots at probably almost the same time. I've got way more wear out of the boots. Am actually tempted to sell the wellies.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2016 17:30

Nectar are apparently refunding my points. Takes 3 days.

Yesterday £2 beer and crumpets.
£15 fuel.

I bought a John Lewis table off eBay, guy said not damaged & when we got there it was. So I took it for £20. I twigged halfway through dhs negotiatians that it's having a big lamp on it so the top being scratched wasn't a big issue. Drove 100 miles to get it so I was pissed off.

So £20 today & £2 in McDonald's.

I opened a hsbc account in December, never heard from them so I emailed the CEO in the week, the account was opened but I never received cards etc. They've honoured the £120 switching fee by paying it straight in & I've requested cards etc. It's free parking too so no more dashing to stay in the free 15 minutes.

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2016 17:33

Fluffy, good result about the Nectar points, but a pain about the eBay table. At least you got it for less.

Pointlessfan · 21/02/2016 17:38

Didn't manage NSD after all. Took DD to see the pets etc at the garden centre, used our free drink vouchers in the cafe but couldn't resist cakes to go with them, £5.
Also bout bird seed for the feeder £3.14 and DH went out for bin liners and eggs.
Can't believe half term is over. Only 4 and a half weeks till Easter hols though!

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2016 17:41

creme If it happens. I have tastes my bank account can't fund. When does your new dryer arrive?. Maybe it will be cheaper to run?.

I'm knackered after driving 200 miles and waiting for 90 mins while dh went shooting.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2016 17:54

How much had you originally won it for fluffy? I would be really annoyed too.

Thanks for more book recommendations Smile

I agree some sort of proper boot rather than wellies.

We had nachos for dinner so unhealthy but so good!

Back to school tomorrow it's been a good half term Smile

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2016 18:08

Apparently on Wednesday. Amazing how quickly they can dispatch it, given they couldn't come til August to fix it.Hmm

Hope DS comes home soon, as I'm getting hungry and I want scrambled eggs and crumpets for our supper.

babsmam · 21/02/2016 18:12

Yy to boots.
Listed some stuff on eBay and Facebook selling. Couple of bits have sold pending collection. See what happens with the rest. CDs DVD came to about £40 so will get boxes from aldi tomorrow.
Unused school shoes sold for 11.29 pending payment on eBay

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2016 18:17

Over £50....

It was quite dirty too. I would have not let something leave my house like that.

Dh has admitted the new table is better & is ebaying the old cabinetts.

John Lewis home & Wilkinsons homeware is quite close sometimes. I can afford wilkos Grin

Allgunsblazing · 21/02/2016 19:08

NSD, although the temptation was there. :)
Saturday was NSD too.
So I only need monday to do my 72h.
I get paid on wednesday :)

Ursulatodd · 21/02/2016 19:28

Confessions of a spendaholic...!

Popped into town this afternoon
£11.99 in New Look (inc bargain of the day - trousers I almost bought in September down to £4!)
£34 in Primark
£30 on some gorgeous shoes in Next
£3 parking

I desperately needed trousers for work and shoes for work but there were some non-essentials in there. Roll on pay day!

supermariossister · 21/02/2016 19:33

I'll have a look on eBay, they are going to a farm, walking in the woods and play areas/candle factory. There is a possibility of pond dipping but depends on weather I think which mid March might not be good.

Will have a look at the xbox headsets they use the kinect for talking to friends currently

Pointlessfan · 21/02/2016 19:36

Ursula it's great when patience pays off with a bargain like that. The opposite usually happens to me i.e. I buy something full price that is reduced a week later!

colliepirate · 21/02/2016 20:06

Hello all!

First of all - found this thread on MN. It may be important to some of you. Its about housing association rent going up (or something).

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2576032-AIBU-to-think-not-enough-people-are-aware-of-the-proposed-changes-to-social-housing?pg=1&order=

This week has to be a NSD. Must not use overdraft!

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2016 20:21

Gosh, I hope I won't be affected. Getting my H.A. house last year was the only bit of good luck I've had for a few years! However, even if I were fit enough to return to f/t teaching, I'd still earn well under £30000.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2016 20:27

I've got my head in the sand about this a little bit. We've been here five years now and have an assured tenancy so I don't know how it will affect us. We only just earn over £30k between us but we will just get dh's boss to pay him less if it comes in. Sounds ridiculous but it would mean our rent going up from £480/month to £1200. They surely have to introduce some sort of sliding scale? Or consider the fact that private rent in the south is 100% more than much of the country. Also that people might want to work more but there's no childcare available. Ffs. When's the next election?

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2016 20:37

I have a theory they are social cleansing the SE.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2016 20:40

Maybe fluffy. But we aren't even allowed to buy our house as we live in a protected area whatever that means (we're in the South Downs national park not sure if that has anything to do with it).

Pointlessfan · 21/02/2016 21:03

Bloody hell wreck that would be a hell of a rise in your rent. I hope we get rid of this government soon.

Lovetoknit · 21/02/2016 21:17

wreck yummy looking waffles with bacon
girlfriend dd was 10 in December and she is nearly as tall as ds who is 11 (16 months between them) so most of her clothes are 11-12
Went to the market today £6 for little dd fringe trim and ds haircut, £30 for meat from butcher, £6 for fabric for pillow and a patch to repair dd jeans and £3 for light shade for the entrance hall and £3 at the Range.
2 loads of laundry done, the whole house hoovered and dusted, roast dinner and bread and butter pudding made with panetone for tea tonight plus I made choc chip buns for lunchboxes and breakfast bars with ds.
Sunday is supposed to be a day to rest yet I always end up doing more then any other day Confused

Unescorted · 21/02/2016 21:23

The Pay to Stay is for all social & Affordable housing tenancies. The deails have not been thrashed out.

There hasn't been any confirmed information about rural right to buy / protected areas yet. It will be brought in with secondary legislation as far as we know. There is a push to keep rural social / Affordable housing out of RTB as it is very difficult to replace. If you are on a social tenancy then you will remain on a social tenancy. If you are on Afforadable Rent you will remain on an Affordable Rent - this is 80% of market rent with a fixed tenancy (at least 2 years)

blueteapot · 21/02/2016 21:29

Evening all. That post about HA rent looks awful, sorry to hear of anyone that might be affected :(

We had a spendy day - around £25 on clothes for DS (needed), £7 in poundland on household stuff like binbags (needed), £8 on coffees / muffin (definitely not needed!)

Good things were sorting out 2 out of 3 kids birthdays this month using boots points (£23 worth) and talking each other out of eating out for tea. We came home and made chicken drumsticks, curry sauce and rice / chips mm. DH got his free priority moments chocs from thorntons. Made homemade scotch pancakes with DS this morning also, and chicken / salad wraps for lunch.

Working again tomorrow so i am having a glass of wine lol :) desperately want some bacon / waffles now lol

WreckTangled · 22/02/2016 02:47

We're on social rent not affordable rent (which is about £800 here). It's all very complicated I suppose we won't know until it happens.

babsmam · 22/02/2016 06:25

Sounds scary those potential rent changes. Flaming cuts.
Think I have sold some more stuff which is all good.
Day of running about today to collect ordrs and get refunds. No fitness, aldi instead joy
