She is 14 next week. Primark and M&S are both too wide between her bum & knees - they look like old fashioned jodpurs. Ideally she would get a UK2 with 32 length. She has the height of my family and the skinny skeleton of dh's family.

I will keep M&S and Primark in mind when she fills out a bit more.

On the plus side she gets a really good choice of dresses in the sales - she can go in on the last day and still have a choice. Many bargins to be had.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 21/02/2016 10:31

Right. We are leaving for ikea. This is going to be expensive, and probably very stressful. Dp hates shops, esp big ones, can't walk far without pain, which makes him snappy and behave like a toddler. Hoping his ds will distract him. Not too worried about the girls, they will looove ikea! Will need takeout lunch as well...
Wish me luck. Will report back later!

fuzzpig · 21/02/2016 10:34

Fuzz could you not "pay" your dh to do the garden?

Eh? Have I missed something Blush

Unescorted · 21/02/2016 10:38

Sorry me conflating things.... ignore! Blush

WreckTangled · 21/02/2016 10:50

I haven't even read back yet but just had to stop to say YUM! Grin

Spendy but lovely day yesterday...£51.14 weekly shop (I sent DH so I could have a lie-in), £12 chemist, £9.50 drinks and crisps in the pub after a wet and windy walk, £30 dinner out for friend's birthday.

Ememem84 · 21/02/2016 10:58

wreck yummmmmmmmm

babsmam · 21/02/2016 11:07

Frigging hate wbd. Have thrown money at it 2x Willy wonka from asda. DD wants a toothless costume so have spent the morning sewing. Stuck now until dh gets back and tells me where the wire cutters are.
Severely limited iPad and have finished scanning mm and ziffit. Put some stuff on Facebook selling and will list on eBay today. Going to tackle garage in a Mo for a few more bits.
Feeling much better today thank you everyone.

babsmam · 21/02/2016 11:08

Ooh bacon mmmm.
Do you know if your IKEA has shortcuts? My nearest does if you know what area you want

fuzzpig · 21/02/2016 11:36

Easily done Unescorted :o (trust me Blush)

Will be spending today rearranging DCs' tip of a bedroom to accommodate new (to us) bed. Fuck knows where the other furniture will go Hmm

Ipsos · 21/02/2016 11:58

Hello! Just quickly passing through. Ds is talking the hind legs off a donkey now after our week of work and I can't get a minute to read the thread. I hope things are going well there. Crossing fingers for Fuzz.

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2016 12:07

I saw Robin Hood in the cinema at night in the summer I was 13. I think it was the first time I went at night, without an adult. Just about old enough to fancy Alan Rickman as the Sherrif!

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2016 12:10

I went from 3 bookcases double stacked to 1, with a shelf free single stacked, in the last few years, courtesy of decluttering. I very rarely buy a new book and use the library as much as possible, as our libraries under went huge cuts to hours a few years ago.

Pointlessfan · 21/02/2016 12:20

Robin Hood was at the cinema the year I started secondary school!
Those waffles loom good, I have bought DH a waffle iron for his birthday.
Managing another NSD so far but we are in desperate need of bin bags, we don't even have a carrier bag we could use!

babsmam · 21/02/2016 12:27

Bambi was the first film I remember seeing at the cinema about 5 year old ish. I sobbed my heart out

lilacclery · 21/02/2016 13:10

Jealous of the waffles & baconGrin
Hoping dd will go for a nap as well as ds so that I can go too, feeling tired & lazy & next few weeks are busy

WreckTangled · 21/02/2016 13:13

They were amazing! We got quite a few books from the library dd has just discovered horrible histories she's 5.5 but is really good at reading so I'm trying to find things to keep her interested as those bloody biff and chip books are horrendous. We also got Jacqueline Wilson and Roald Dahl.

supermariossister · 21/02/2016 13:37

I need to start buying for ss birthday as April is a really spendy month but I literally have no clue he will be 12 likes teraria, Liverpool, fossil type kits. He has asd and still plays but things with small pieces just don't last they go missing, get broken. Really am clueless this year and he just says xbox one which won't be happening.

Girlfriend36 · 21/02/2016 16:12

Super lego?

Wreck has she read the 'Daisy and the Trouble with' series? My dd loved them at that age and still won't let go of them now Grin I quite enjoyed reading them with her as they are pretty funny. She might be a bit young but all the David Walliam books are fab as well, they got my dd really excited about reading.

I remember going to see Robin Hood at the cinema, can't remember how old I was though -I def fancied Alan Rickman more than Kevin Costner Grin

So we have had a lovely day, went to the kids club at the cinema and watched Hotel Transylvania 2 that was £5 and we took our own snacks, popped into Sainsburys to check out the sale and only bought myself some vest tops which were £3.75 for 2. Also picked up a couple of gifts as dd has some parties coming up which came to £8.75.

Had lunch at my mums and went for a lovely although quite windy walk this afternoon.

Filled car up with petrol for £40.

Back to work tomorrow Sad

WreckTangled · 21/02/2016 16:23

I looked for David walliams but the library only had one and I didn't think it was one she would enjoy! Thanks for the recommendation I will have a look Smile

Ipsos · 21/02/2016 16:52

Ds and I have ground to a halt and are staring at the telly after a week of constant chat and activity. knackered, but pleased with our efforts. It's not been too expensive a week either.

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2016 16:59

NSD. Listed some more of DS's Lego on eBay and sorted out some old clothes and jewellery for a charity shop collection bag. Sometimes I think I won't be happy until I've got rid of everything we own. I get such a buzz out of getting rid of stuff!Smile

supermariossister · 21/02/2016 17:05

Between them they have had a lot of lego but sometimes the pieces are lost and the set gets ruined so he doesn't want to do it anymore. They had lego dimensions for Christmas and have lost bits of it so I've moved it downstairs now as it renders part of it useless when the bits are missing..hmm not sure at all. The great cereal dispenser was a disaster and snapped less then a week of use but they did give me a refund so I've bought some tubs with scoops from pound world.

Paid this week need to buy ds either wellies or walking boots for outdoor trip school say wellies but I'm thinking walking boots might get used again regularly whereas wellies won't do you think a pair of hi tec boots would do the job

Wolfcub · 21/02/2016 17:14

Making curry for tea but No idea if dh will actually be home to eat it. It really hacks me off when he goes out on the last day of half term and he does it every time. Didn't get the car washed as it was raining sideways so will have to wash by hand in the morning.

wreck try the Diana Wynne Jones Chrestomanci series it's a fab series and really accessible

super what about a good set of gaming headphones for the Xbox?

Ememem84 · 21/02/2016 17:17

£1.89 on a lemon and some milk.

Have spent the day meal planning, watching bones, and doing laundry.

Have just been for a walk. Another 3km down on my 1000km for the year. Total 170km.
