Oh sorry! Didn't mean to drip feed! I'm hypermobile and my knee cap popped out last night. It hasn't happened for ages so it surprised me. I have a wheelchair here if I need it too.

DH has decided to work from home so all is fine Smile

ItalianWiking84 · 18/01/2016 10:51

Thank you all again.... I'm home with the flu, think it's all the stuff that has happened that makes the immune defence go ape...

Babsman depending how desperate you are tu must be due a 25% off event soon.

I feel like poo nasty cold want to go to bed but 14mth old has other ideas and school run to do in a bit and need petrol as its running on fresh air which means getting baby out of the car at petrol station I try to go on work days as easier.

Anyone have the joie stages car seat looking at getting one

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2016 13:11

We have it east. Fits in my Astra fine but can't get it in my parents 4x4?!

5minutestobed · 18/01/2016 13:33

Stupid question but what happened if you don't have a will? We don't have any property or money to leave but we do have a DS and another on the way. No way we could afford to do wills just now either.
Low spend day today, £1.50 om toddler group and £2.50 on parking.

lilacclery · 18/01/2016 13:41

5minutes you can do a legally binding document just by both of you signing it if you wanted to

east I try to do petrol stations that I can see the car from the pay area if I've the kids in the car, saves taking them out.

I borrowed a joie stages when ds had an operation last year it was lovely

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2016 13:50

I always leave the dc in the car when I get petrol

Ipsos · 18/01/2016 13:50

5minutes I think you just do one of these free ones, and then give a copy to everyone who might need to know. One in your house, one to the person who would take over your children in the event, and one to the executors. I believe that if it happens then the original has to be produced. The copy doesn't count, so they need to know where the original is. That's just in case you made a new will later on and the old ones were torn up but not all copies were torn up.

This is one of the free options:

www.lawdepot.co.uk/contracts/last-will-and-testament-uk/?loc=GB&pid=googleppc-will_uk-LastT2_a2-ggkey_last%20will%20and%20testament%20form%20for%20free&gclid=CjwKEAiAt_K0BRCzjtv92_HGoR0SJAA9QNn_3mI_cefkXnLKvQZrGL6D4x9UyaEXothLDE2wxDfYYBoCwyHw_wcB

Definitely needs done if you have dcs, even without money or property.

5minutestobed · 18/01/2016 13:57

Great thanks for that Ipsos. Now to try and agree who the kids should go to!

Ipsos · 18/01/2016 14:10

That's the hard part 5minutes. We looked around our extended family and were not at all sure that any of them would be a great bet, but we reckoned that someone would be a lot better than no one, even if the someone just had to choose a boarding school and put the kid on a train. Our someone didn't feel at all confident about the idea either and always urges us now to "drive carefully".

supermariossister · 18/01/2016 14:38

Hi everyone,

£49 bill to finish off old contract, have ordered new handset with a lower bill of £34.99 with double the data so happy with that, got an s6 edge.

£10 corner shop packed lunch drinks bananas and clubs/bakewells along with milk and 3 creme eggs ( they are awful, if you havent this year i wouldnt bother!)

should of gone to aldi or asda but was short of time due to needing be back for school run but in positive news i went to my group today, i havent been for three weeks and i spent yesterday saying i wouldnt feel well and i shouldnt go but i did and i had a great time and even signed up for some love food hate waste classes over the next few weeks so a positive day

Allgunsblazing · 18/01/2016 14:47

Called BT and lowered my contract from £19 per month to £10 for exactly the same package (I pay the rental in one go in January, it works out much cheaper).
Paid 1 year line rent £194.

Whataboutnodetox · 18/01/2016 15:15

£9 on replacement parts for all three of our toilets. Fixed by DH so saved us a lot.

DH found out his bonus today. Missed off a zero when he texted me the figure and ran down to ask why I was disappointed..

Slow cooker is doing its thing. I really enjoyed being able to sear my meat beforehand, I usually don't bother!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2016 16:01

I've made chocolate and banana cupcakes and banana and cinnamon muffins. Will take them to work tomorrow to stop me eating them all. I've spent so much time tidying up after myself in the kitchen that I feel like I haven't done any of the housework I should have. Ah well. Mixed bean and beef chilli for dinner.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/01/2016 16:49

Thanks think am going to get the joie stages baby almost out of the cabriofix and was t to erf we didn't with ds1 who is now 5 but now I have read the research 5times safer I would feel bad not doing so I am very much an evidence based type of parent!

AuditAngel · 18/01/2016 16:53

Car was About £110, but work will pick up that cost. That was for MOT plus getting the warning messages sorted out.

McDonalds for DD1 and I after her hospital appointment about £9.50, hospital appointment was scan on her tummy, found nothing.

Dancing shortly, fees are £125 between the 3 kids, uniform for new show is £40, will pay that and £50 of fees today (if the lady is there, she wasn't on Thursday)

MrsWOLF1 · 18/01/2016 17:06

Have been reading with interest ,and after seeing the post about We buy any books I listed a fair few books / cds and dvds have made £63.77 !!!

fuzzpig · 18/01/2016 17:08

Quick question for any Londoners around - if you use a contactless card (NOT oyster) for one bus journey, how much is it please? DH couldn't see it on the reader and I'm trying to update my spreadsheet. Can't find the info online (I am possibly being dense)

Hi everyone,

I don't often get to participate in this group - mostly because I'm boring and do the same thing mon-fri (work Hmm)

But I wanted to share that I've only spent money on one day -Saturday - in the last 8 days, so 7 Nsd!

I've also had a freezer audit and realised that there was so much in there that I only needed to do a very small top up shop which was an asda online delivery for £37.07 and all five of us will be fed everyday, including four packed lunches mob- fri.Smile.

Hope everyone else is having a frugal day too!

Pointlessfan · 18/01/2016 17:38

Hi camden and well done!
Ouch! collie hope you feel better soon, I was on crutches last summer, really not a good combo with a toddler!
Bad luck about the job NK.
Thanks for all the advice about wills, I am in a union, hadn't thought of that. £150 isn't as much as I expected and worth it to make sure DD would be looked after.
NSD here plus DH negotiated our broadband down to less than half what we currently pay, hooray!

Girlfriend36 · 18/01/2016 17:41

Hi all, oh dear Collie hope you are o.kay that sounds painful!

I haven't ever made a will Blush I do know I should but just haven't got round to it, I always sort of assumed that dd would go to immediate family any way?

I am still full of cold and now my ears have blocked up so can't hear very well! Dd not helping by being very grumpy.

Did have a frugal dinner as remembered this morning to get one of my frozen portions of spag bol out, was very nice even if dd moaned about it Hmm

allwornout0 · 18/01/2016 17:49

fiveminutestobed, have a look on the small biz ads forum about wills.
There is a mumsnetter called Mumblechum1 who has a will writing company called Marlow Wills.
She is brilliant and I'm sure will be able to give you advise on your will, she is really well priced and often has promotions for Mumsnetters.

Ipsos · 18/01/2016 18:08

Well done on the book mrswolf Smile

Well done Camden. Nice work!

Girlie I think the will is just there to make it as quick and smooth as possible. Actually making the will means that you have to choose a person and ask them if it's okay which would really help if it ever happened. For my person it was a big decision and he has really made room in his life for ds which was a big thing. If there is money at all then it also avoids probate which is a long boring administrative process that can really cause headaches for the survivors when someone dies.
