Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

Creme Envy I want snow mild and wet here as well, so not Christmassy! Whereabouts are you?

CremeEggThief · 12/12/2015 13:09

County Durham. I'm amazed it's settled, as the ground is so wet. It's been falling in nice, big flakes for two hours now. I have to pop to the shop, so I guess it's time to dig out my snow boots.

ipsos · 12/12/2015 13:11

I think it may be time to impound my credit card. I just added up and it's been nearly £5k to tear our hallway apart and fix it up again and we've spent about £500 on Christmas, including absolutely everything. Time to lock up the cards and hibernate I think.

It was all worth it though, because all of life now feels rosier for our hallway not looking like a squat any more, and I think we did sensible things with our Christmas budget. Good stuff. Zzzzzzzz

ipsos · 12/12/2015 13:12

It's very cold here too, and starting to feel almost cold enough for snow. I wouldn't mind a bit of snow actually. :-)

babsmam · 12/12/2015 13:21

Yes crème we do. I didn't think it would lay but it is and was a very cold and wet dog walk

babsmam · 12/12/2015 13:22

I love that people write well on this thread, and apologize for errors. So civilized. :-)

Girlfriend36 · 12/12/2015 13:33

I find it amazing that our small country can have such big differences in weather! We are South West and its stupidly mild still, on the plus side though still haven't needed to turn half our heaters on Wink

It's just raining here. I tried to take DD to her friends to go Christmas shopping and one of the villages I drive through was flooded, I hope they are ok, I think it wasn't in houses, rather the roads.

The problem with us being rural and the school having such a large catchment, made up of small villages is that it takes forever to drop the DC at mates houses. 40 minute drive, there and back Shock

ipsos Just think though that every time you will walk into your hall, how fab it will look and how it will be worth it.

Well done to your DD fuzz.

Ememem84 · 12/12/2015 13:51

spotty love the reindeer. So jealous.

I went out for a plod round the lanes with my riding group. Pony freaked out when she saw a squirrel (a red one) and police dogs (sad news here - a kid has gone missing and they've had to get the searches out - he's been missing for almost a week. So sad)

lilacclery · 12/12/2015 14:01

Place marking
em that's awful about child being missing especially in this weather.

Yesterday was spendy but all budgeted.
Hair €80
Dinner in a fancy pub budgeted in Christmas savings & visit to Santa prepaid out of Christmas spends afterwards we went to McDonald's for mcflurrys & coffee much cheaper than dessert in the pub & a few hours later when we enjoyed it so much more.

Today I didn't go swimming with ds as dh was around to stay home with him & dds lesson was prepaid, I didn't buy Saturday paper because I've loads to do so that's about €10 saved.

Dh says my mother offered to babysit so we can go out for drinks we never do so think will take advantage

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/12/2015 14:23

We have rain here too. Three supermarkets in the pouring rain and the sodding rotary club sleigh blaring out "Ava Maria" at 1000db was not fun this morning.

NSD and I've made a syrup pudding. hopefully it's not brick like when cooked.

Love the snowman :)
May I join you?

colliepirate · 12/12/2015 15:05

Ace Snowman! We went to the beach today. It was a tad chilly from the wind.

Ummmmm we spent £97 in Sainsbury's including £6 on coffee, £4 on Radio Times, £4 on a tub of gifts. Then a few random Christmas bits Blush I'm ashamed of myself but I earnt enough to cover it. Will start saving in January.

CremeEggThief · 12/12/2015 15:22

Aw, cute, Babs. I reckon we have a good 2-3 inches now, as it's been non-stop since about 11. So gorgeous, as long as you don't have to go anywhere much further than the local shop. Speaking of which, £4.51 there earlier, on milk, kitchen roll, STs and popcorn ( that's a bribe for DS to leave his bedroom and watch a film later).

Welcome to AllgunsblazingXmas Smile

colliepirate · 12/12/2015 15:34

CremeEggThief · 12/12/2015 16:40

Finally stopped here. It sounds absolutely horrendous out on County Durham roads, from what I am seeing on Facebook. Apparently it took someone from our village two hours to get to and from the nearest small town- a round trip of 5 or 6 miles! The police have advised against all non-essential travel, due to ungritted roads and traffic gridlocked and at least one bus has overturned, in the north of our county.Xmas Sad
