Girlie I'm a sahm at the mo. DS is only 2. We don't have a school nearby. I wish I had a shop, cafe, primary school all within walking distance.

When we sell up we'll make sure the new place is in a better location. And I think my isolation woes will be fixed automatically Smile just have to be patient I guess.

Cinnamon roll with maple frosting for all who need one. Christmas trial baking this afternoon. Nice free activity! And they are delicious.

collie sorry you're feeling so down. It's rubbish isn't it? A couple of ears ago all of my friends left. For uni/travelling/ to live the dream in London. I found it really tough.

Cake
Girlfriend36 · 08/12/2015 17:50

Thats tough Collie I would really struggle in that situation, although I moan about work I would go a bit mad without the adult conversation! Plus when dd was that age we had plenty of toddler groups etc to go to, being home with a toddler all day is hard work!

OMG Whata that looks amazing

Ememem84 · 08/12/2015 17:59

what omg. They look amazing. If I pm you my address send it over here. I'll take care of it for you....! Wink

Colliejollychristmas · 08/12/2015 19:05

Thanks everyone. It makes me feel good that's its more of a "phase" & it'll end soon. Ha!

what that looks amazing! Did it take long to make?

Just went to The Range. Spent around £5!

Pointlessfan · 08/12/2015 19:28

Hope you are ok collie.
That cake does look lovely!
Been Xmas shopping this afternoon which was mainly frugal. Got 6 nice children's books for £7 in The Works and a pack of kids Xmas socks which I'm going to split so each child gets a book and a pair of socks. Went in Smiggle and got my niece a fabulous pencil case and coloured pencils and they gave me a free pack of erasers, it's massive! Somehow got talked into sponsoring a guide dog puppy for £8 a month, I had stopped because they had an actual dog and DD wanted to see it then they showed me photos of puppies until I relented, it is a great charity though, those dogs are amazing! Had my free tea and cake in John Lewis and came home so quite a successful trip!

babsmam · 08/12/2015 19:42

Sorry meant lux.
Look fab what. How on earth do you manage all these wonders with a baby and toddler Envy I was lucky if we got dressed and survived the day.
Collie. It is a phase and will pass. Damp cold wintertime days make everything feel we worse. Chat to us as much as you like.

Collie I made the dough yesterday and then made them up tonight whilst ds1 iced gingerbread trees and ds2 shouted from his play mat. DH's friend has arrived and eaten a couple. They are delicious.

Babs, I survive as both mine tend to sleep through the night. DS2 doesn't sleep much during the day which is wearing, but DS1 goes to preschool for two hours in the morning and will have a nap of 60-90 minutes in the afternoon. At 5.30 my shift finishes and DH takes over DS1 and DS2 while I mAke dinner. DH went away for three weeks (two weeks and then back a week and then away for a week) when DS2 was 5-9 weeks old. I'm invincible now. I'm very lucky that DH works from home and I can tune out a screaming baby for a couple of minutes to get things done. Only 13 weeks in so give me another 13 and I'll be on my knees I'm sure.

Colliejollychristmas · 08/12/2015 19:58

Haha Lux its not me. I live somewhere so wet and windy. Even when the weather app says "2% chance of rain" it rains all bleddy day. Xmas Grin

Sorry you are feeling isolated collie. An easy time of year to feel lonely.

Cake looks super what.

I have only paid for the cleaner these last 2 days, so £20. And I haven't read back, sorry.

Dh has been diagnosed with skin cancer, just this afternoon. The wonders of non frugal private medical insurance at least. He's having an operation next Saturday to remove, then we wait 3 weeks for a biopsy to see if it's spread. I haven't actually told anyone in RL yet, but needed to say it somewhere Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 08/12/2015 20:16

Oh need I'm so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed it was caught early Thanks

needastrongone · 08/12/2015 20:20

Thanks.

Have been my normal need self, very strong and cheerful for DH and especially the DC (DD is having a big wobble), just sat down to tell you guys and feel a bit erm, crap!

Not sure how to tell my RL friends, it's not something you drop into a text is it lol? Smile

Colliejollychristmas · 08/12/2015 20:21

need what awful news! Flowers my dad had skin cancer. Hes well and healthy now but it was a horrible time. Is the 3 week wait standard? Seems pretty long Sad thinking of you and your DH. xx

CremeEggThief · 08/12/2015 20:23

Need, very sorry to hear that...BrewCake

Lovetoknit · 08/12/2015 20:25

Thank you creme we saw the little beds at craft fair for £45 so luckily I managed to persuade dh to make 2 while he was off after DVT after I found the template on-line Smile I only had to buy some wadding and couple fat quarters so we got both for less then £10 Grin

thank you girlie it's hard to believe she is 10, growing up too fast Smile

collie I found moving down to Cornwall really hard for the same reason, we live in tiny village/hamlet with only 10 houses, there is a pub but nothing else. We have to drive everywhere so at the moment my only contact with adults (apart from dh) is during the school run or if I go shopping or to the library. I think the weather and being dark so early doesn't help at all, at least in the summer you can spend lot more time in the garden.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 08/12/2015 20:27

So sorry to hear that need. Take care of yourself.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 08/12/2015 20:29

The SW in the summer is great. not so much when it's dark at 4.30.

lilacclery · 08/12/2015 20:31

need I can't offer you any advice but FlowersFlowers

ipsos · 08/12/2015 20:33

Gosh, need I'm so sorry to hear that. Well done for noticing and getting it seen to so quickly. Very well done for that. It's really stops in your tracks, to have a thing like that diagnosed though, doesn't it? We'll keep all our fingers crossed for you here.
