30 on argos, just realised I have far more for DS than dd for christmas. Rats
£42 in sainsbury

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/11/2015 16:31

Collie I am so pleased your dad bought you a sc. They are fab little machines. I cook all meat in mine except bacon and sausage.

Although I cant believe the price of Asda's sc dump bags, their about £6! how can that be economical Confused.

Pork shoulder is very cheap in morrisons at the moment and cooks really well in them. It's £2 a kg.

We've had a clear out and a trip to the tip, I feel positively cleansed now and you can actually use the downstairs loo as a loo now.

Dh ate a bag of crisps out of the christmas food. I am trying to let it go.

Toffee apple cider is on offer in tesco/morrisons 3 for £5, then quidco are offering a £1 per bottle as cashback. I imagine it's leftover Halloween stock.

NSD. I really hope my clicksnap money goes into my account tomorrow so I can get on with ordering candle stuff.

Whatabout · 22/11/2015 16:46

£33 in Aldi, I went in for washing liquid and some stuff for lunch and came out withh two bags of stuff. This is why I do all my shopping online. The pile of Christmas food is getting obscene. £24 on eBay for the bits to make crackers. I do it every year for Boxing Day.

DH thinks he spent about £100 last night so probably more. He did say he resented some of it as we'd had a week away and not spent that all week on food and drink out. I made us burgers with pancetta and mozzarella for lunch. Normally when DH has been drinking we'll have take away so this was much cheaper.

needastrongone · 22/11/2015 16:59

ipsos Do report back on the dishwasher, it will be interesting indeed. DH is very busy. He was in Portugal last week, came home Friday, drove to his brothers last night for his nephews 18th, home today at lunch, swept leaves for 2 hours, then walked the dogs for 2 hours, now off doing some DIY GrinGrin He's off to Dubai Tuesday.

fluffy Doesn't a good clear out make you feel good?! Let the crisps go....!

In other news, I went for my first run in 5 years. Just 2 miles. I didn't stop. It's a start...

DD has written her Christmas list, in the form of 'The 12 days of Christmas' and put a copy on my pillow, all typed in different colours. It rhymes and is fabulous. She's no chance of getting half the stuff but it did make me laugh.

Meal plan for the week,

Two lots of soup - Potato, leek and fig and fire roasted red pepper.
Moroccan pork.
Smoked mackerel risotto.
Frittata and potato wedges.
Sausage casserole or sausage pasta bake.
Shepherds pie and veggies.

Happy Birthday Girlfriend Smile

Gosh need your dh really is a ball of energy isn't he? What on earth would he be like with a 9-5 office job? Glad he has all this fun lined up.

I'll report back on the dishwasher when I hear. Hopefully it will be sorted before Christmas 2016.

CremeEggThief · 22/11/2015 18:46

Goodness me, ipsos. I really hope you get sorted soon. It will all be worth it in the end.

Soups sound amazing as usual, Need

We went to see "The Lady in the Van" today. What a lovely film; glad we made the effort to come back again, after they'd sold out yesterday . Spends were £9.60 bus fares for us both and £2.05 on a pasty for me and sausage rolls for DS, as a quick lunch. I'm making Quorn sausages and mash for dinner now. Starving!

Girlfriend36 · 22/11/2015 18:52

Fluffy its me with the slow cooker Grin its all new and shiney, realised that haven't got any chicken though! So it was jacket potatoes for dinner tonight, chicken is on the list for my Morrisons delivery on Tuesday though so will def give it ago then.

Spends today;
£5 getting the car washed - it was filthy and looks a lot better now!
£2 on bread and green tea
£4 in a charity shop on a slow cooker cook book (easy for you to say Wink) and another book that looks good.

Collieputthekettleon · 22/11/2015 18:54

I would love to see that film creme!

I've just downloaded a sample of a Mediterranean slow cooker recipe book. Hoping to find some gooduns. That are also fairly simple 👌

You should have a lower electric bill as well with a sc so more money for food.

A lot of things that actually use less electric have gone out of fashion like sc, pressure cookers and spin dryers.

Bit weird considering how expensive electric is.

I'm not buying Christmas food yet for that very reason Fluffy only here it's a teenager and she would scoff the lot.

Lux what do you have? Any veg can be chopped, fried and mixed into rice/pasta/potatoes/eggs and any lentils or beans will add protein.

A pound a week is better than nothing Lux glad you won't missing meals now. No one should have to miss meals due to finances.

Lux my Gran used to say she felt rich when she had 6 eggs in the fridge. So whenever we are low on funds I buy eggs and I think of my Gran. Grin humble, simple & wonderful.

Nsd. Well dh took me out for breakfast...so £5 on bacon rolls and coffee from the Portuguese caf on the harbour in one of my favourite bays.

We sat in the rain. Under the awning. Cold. But lovely. The sea was a bit rough rough. Boats being thrown about. So lovely. Love winter days like this.

Then back indoors for study. And just been to parents for roast. Sent home with buckets of leftovers. Yummmm.
