checking in!

Lovetoknit · 06/11/2015 12:13

Thank you fuzz you hit the nail on the head, it's hard to find the right specialist and even harder to get an appointment
£40 at Lidl this morning but I did buy some warm clothes as well (warm leggings, tights and socks for me) so I can start wearing some skirts rather then my usual jeans Smile
another wet and horrible day and weekend doesn't look much better Sad

Stellar67 · 06/11/2015 12:14

Thanks for the new thread. You all are so fast.
Another NSD here, although picking up friend form airport later and will probably wipe me out with parking.
I'm really pleased with myself, since starting here I have been LSD every day. Eating out of the freezer to make room for Christmas.

Whatabout · 06/11/2015 12:28

Looked through my bank account this morning, noticed a charge for nursery, £172.75, this was based on an incorrect invoice. DH is going to try and claim in back from them shortly. Will make our bank account look much prettier if we can get it back soon! I'm wondering if somehow we did owe it so not counting on it. I never count on money that's not in my hand.

Wet and horrid here too, not sure what to do with DS1 this afternoon as weather is too bad to go and feed ducks or anything. I did spend £5 on a playmobil 123 digger for him on Amazon, I got a camel alert and it had to be done. I'll put it away for Christmas or his birthday.

Lottie4 · 06/11/2015 15:00

Hi, can I join please. We've put a lot on our credit card this month with car repairs, start of xmas shopping, food, petrol etc. If we pay it off at the end of this month (which would be the plan), we'll have no spare cash in December.

I'm getting to the point where I won't be buying any more presents (and not much else) until they can go on next month's statement, and then everything will back log onto next month's statement.

Anyway, £8.71 in Tescos for bare essentials to keep us going over the weekend.

Sainsburys have 25% of six bottles, so popping in there tomorrow to buy six bottles, partly for presents, partly for us for xmas. I've been buying toiletry gift sets from places like Superdrug and Wilko

babsmam · 06/11/2015 17:26

Hi lotto

CremeEggThief · 06/11/2015 17:49

Welcome LottieSmile.

NSD and I received £36.06 from webuybooks, so that will keep us going for a few days.

Girlfriend36 · 06/11/2015 17:54

Hi all, have that TFI Friday feeling except for the fact that I am working all wend!! It looks really busy as well Sad oh well, plod on!

Going to see a fireworks display later, think it will cost about £8 for me and dd, will take drinks and snacks.

Thanks for new thread blue Smile

Pointlessfan · 06/11/2015 17:58

Welcome Lottie.
Hotel Chocolat have sent me a 3rd Xmas catalogue and discount code. It's getting harder to resist, they are breaking me!
Have a good weekend y'all.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/11/2015 18:02

Hi lottie

Well after my Amazon purchase it was a nsd. Work was busy with lots of cake! We are finally having an Indian! Dh got paid and, well, you all know how long I've wanted one for Wink

Lidl shop and petrol tomorrow plus fireworks display. It's free to attend have got a tenner in case we want anything though.

winelady · 06/11/2015 18:17

Thank you for the welcomes -Shopping done for next week and in budget so should be no more spends until next weekend, threw in a bottle of Aldi "Bailey's" for research purposes only of course. Making loads of soups tomorrow though this may be delayed until Sunday depending on my "research" tonightWink

ipsos · 06/11/2015 18:21

I just had a playdate! Yay! Nice friend and offspring came our house and invited us to theirs next week. That's a successful day.

AuditAngel · 06/11/2015 18:29

£16 for lunch with 2 colleagues. One has just got engaged (after a long wait Grin ) and so we called in other colleague on maternity leave for a nice meal.

£34 in Tescos. Mainly a new hairdryer with diffuser to use on DD1's slightly curly hair for panto to try to avoid the need for curlers (may not be enough) plus a couple of little presents for her to give siblings and dome food for packed lunch tomorrow.

Unescorted · 06/11/2015 18:41

Afternoon ...skips a little friday dance. Hi Lottie

Audit you could do rag rolls. Pain to put in but much cheaper than rollers.

Super cheap day today ... had to go to a conference, but they had goodies in their bags which are now going to make up incidental Christmas gifts and a couple packs of greetings cards (classy ones). I may have riflled through the bags left behind by other delegates / empty seats Blush.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/11/2015 18:50

Grin unescorted wins frugaleer of the week

Unescorted · 06/11/2015 18:58

Well they would have gone to waste.... it would be a shame.

Where am I most likely to find a chestnut tree? I have been looking all over and we only seem to have horse chesnuts around here. At this rate I may have to buy some.

riverboat1 · 06/11/2015 18:59

Good work Unescorted! That reminds me I need to do a Christmas card audit, think I might have enough spare cards left over from previous years to avoid buying more this year...

I guess I won't buy the Jolly Postman for my nephew, especially as I have woken up and realised he is 1, not 2! Anyone got any suggestions of cool yet not too ruinous things to get a 1 year old for Christmas?

Today I ended up spending slightly more than planned...went into M+S to buy a loaf of bread, and ended up getting an advent calendar for DSS too. Total spend today: €6.20. I soooo want to order pizza tonight, but am pretty sure I'll manage to resist the temptation...

ohhelpohnoitsa · 06/11/2015 19:56

unescorted I THINK chestnuts mainly come from Italy and its a short s3ason which is why they are ao wxpensive. Start a baby saving fund now ready for 2016 chestnuts. (Or come to me now, I have some in the fridge).

lilacclery · 06/11/2015 20:03

Riverboat my ds is 2 Monday my general rule of thumb for presents for him is clothes or something with wheels! Last years Christmas presents were tractors, a rainmaker from elc, a farm shared with his sister & a farm theme duvet & pillow set

Unescorted · 06/11/2015 20:13

ohhelp I start saving...

I love those pull along penguins with the leather feet attached to the wheels.... although not enough to have another child.

NK5BM3 · 06/11/2015 20:26

Spent £18 on McDonald's for dinner. Had a vv hard week at work which wasn't helped with me having a really bad cough and cold. But, finished 2 grant applications, a strategic review, a programme spec change, and have instructed colleagues to do a lot (well it's not a lot but it's a pain) of changes in 10 days.

I have next week's block teaching to look forward to and then a flight to catch from Heathrow at 1055. Taxi coming at 5. Sad

Have a good weekend.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 06/11/2015 20:29

I think I'm now obsessed with ynab. At least I can now see exactly where each wage/tax credit payment is going. So I know which payments are going towards which bill.

Unescorted · 06/11/2015 20:31

Sounds a mare NK Hope it isn't the cold doing the rounds about our office - people are taking chunks of time off, not just the usual duvet day.

Collieputthekettleon · 06/11/2015 20:31

Quite a shite day really. I have a terrible headache caused purely from emotions and stress! Which means a successful NSD.

No specific weekend plans apart from recovering from today :)

louiseee123 · 06/11/2015 20:58

Can I join? 500 into my overdraft means I need some low spend days, gonna be a long month!
