Hope it's okay to start the new thread since the other one is already full
£1 at Cornwall Ambulance shop for 3 books for dc after I dropped off my old slow cooker and some books and £1 at Prospect hospice for some wool and fabric
Just made cauliflower cheese with some bacon and cavolo nero for dh who had it for lunch and there is enough for his dinner too, the rest of us are having homemade burgers, buns and wedges

Look at my garden Sad. DH and myself spent about two hours raking leaves yesterday...

Collieputthekettleon · 26/10/2015 11:56

need what a beautiful garden!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/10/2015 11:56

Oh no! Dd and ds were getting really excited by all the leaves falling.

So £18.80 at the dentist and 63p on a stamp.

Collieputthekettleon · 26/10/2015 11:58

Although raking leaves sounds like hardwork Sad my back hurts just thinking about it

Ememem84 · 26/10/2015 12:02

Lovely garden need. I am jealous, I long for a garden. (If I was closer I'd come and take up the leaves for you and scamper about in the garden. But the flights are expensive...)

Someone had bid on my eBay stuff!! Only 99p. But it's better than nothing! And while I've been sat here studying I've thought of more stuff to sell - now would be the right time to sell Dhs ski trousers wouldn't it?

ipsos · 26/10/2015 12:18

Girl that's great that the printer link was helpful. We love our big workhorse printer. :-)

blueteapot · 26/10/2015 12:19

Need our garden is also all leaves again despite having been cleared twice in recent weeks! Im waiting til they are all down and doing a final sweep. Dh wants a leaf blower - no chance!

Got my pay slip in for wed and work have got it right! So should be paid for annual leave from 11th oct tacked onto end of mat leave. Time to start a bit of serious planning will report back

needastrongone · 26/10/2015 12:27

Sorry, I was distracted by DD needed a lift..

ipsos. Thank you for the printer link. And the additional information. I am wondering if I could link all our laptops to a printer such as this, given we all need to use it. I occasionally put some ink through the business, maybe one purchase in 6, to cover what I use for work, but the rest of the expense is ours.

Grin at em 'scampering' in our garden!

The garden is lovely. The plot was one of the reasons we bought the house. I wish the DC had been tiny, then it would have had even more use. I love the solitude and trees. In hindsight, the level of work it involves was something we didn't fully appreciate or factor in. DH spends hours in there. I've got raised beds round the side which I tend to, poor DH seems to get the rest!

We do have one of those leaf blower things blue, but DH has broken it somehow and it needs fixing. My chickens live at the bottom of the garden, they seem to love the leaves.

DH and DS have gone off for a few days with the dogs. I have an absolute pile of food to get through and DD has announced that she's spending a few days at ther friends. My shop next week will be tiny I guess.

I feel strange and the house feels empty!

needastrongone · 26/10/2015 12:28

em My bids started at 99p, I have just made £48 on 4 items, one of which had sat in the ironing pile since I bought it!

Ememem84 · 26/10/2015 12:53

need my listing will go until Sunday evening. So I'm hoping there are more bidders!!

I've just listed Dhs ski pants for £10. That seems reasonable doesn't it? They're in great condition and apparently new can cost almost £50.

We're not planning on skiing anytime soon and he's figured even if we were, he'd want new pants.

LaChatte · 26/10/2015 12:54

Urgh, I hate noisy neighbours, it's one the reasons we chose our house, the few houses around us are either empty or owned by elderly people. Even our DCs are very quiet, yesterday 5yo DD came up to me and started whispering because there was no noise in the house Halloween Blush

Need your garden is lovely!

A few essential spends today, DH had to put diesel in the car, he also got a big pack of aluminium food containers to batch cook and freeze meals in (100 containers for 9€). I did a small online shop €30 and went into the shop to buy fruit (12€).

I found an egg white in the fridge from last week, so made it into two little meringue nests for DC's dessert tonight.

Which country are you in Em ? I'm in France and was panicking recently as I'm running low on Yorkshire tea and Marmite, but I found a huge jar of spread in the stock cupboard, and will make do with locally bought Tetley, meh. My DM is going to the UK just before Xmas, so I'm going to ask beg her to bring me loads back, along with bits and bobs for Christmas (you can't get crackers here Halloween Shock )

blueteapot · 26/10/2015 13:09

Hohoho! Thought Id spread some festive cheer to the frugaleers :D The xmas mug is out! Dont care if it's too soon, santa tea makes being stuck in cramming so much more tolerable lol :D

Ememem84 · 26/10/2015 13:24

lachatte I'm in jersey. We can get all the British stuff here (as we are british) but have no tesco sainsburys asda lidl aldi. We have waitrose (as were posh enough for that) and co op but none of the others so cutting down on food spends is difficult. So whenever parents pop across to the uk (or France) I give them a list. And they bring me back a box.

We've just posted Bil a catering pack of tetley. He lives in Aussie and it worked out cheaper for us to buy said catering pack and ship it out to him (1500 teabags ) than for him to buy 100 from his local shop. Insane.

ipsos · 26/10/2015 13:37

need yes you could definitely network a printer like that. That's how we have it set up. You can also run the internet through the electric wiring in your house so that as long as the router is on the same plug circuit as the printer is attached to then you don't need a long network cable. Wireless is harder with these printers. I wouldn't try to set it up for wireless internet.

This is the adapter to put internet through your electric wiring.

Badders123 · 26/10/2015 13:56

Thank you bantam.
I've just found out I've been nominated for the secret Santa.
Am so surprised and touched.
It's cheered me right up :)
DC both have appts at hospital this week so I'm hoping my petrol lasts!
Also just realised I need money for the ruddy car park!
Argh!
We will be overdrawn until end of November as we have to pay our holiday (UK) deposit and it's my MOT in December!
It's a very spendy time of year isn't it?!

Badders123 · 26/10/2015 14:01

I keep seeing a Robin in my garden...so lovely to see :)
I've had a very productive morning with the kids back at school cleaning and sorting and stripping beds etc (OMG, the dust!!)
Am quite tired now though and I have to take ds2 to hospital.
I will be getting my Xmas mugs and throws out at the end of November :)
I am picking up my wrapping paper tomorrow which means I can start wrapping gifts.

Collieputthekettleon · 26/10/2015 14:21

Loving the Christmas mug! Hurry up payday.

Can tell I've got a cold. Just ate some chocolate and it tasted waxy. Ughhhhh.

SpottyTeacakes · 26/10/2015 14:43

We've got a Robin too it was on our door handle the other day! I could see it through the glass.

Well done on UpWork Ipsos!

Girlfriend36 · 26/10/2015 15:08

Hi all, just sitting down for the first time today!

Need am Halloween Envy at your garden! Don't leaves decompose by themselves eventually anyway??

Have got my girl back home Smile she had a fantastic time with her Grandad and his wife, got thoroughly spoilt and sounds like was kept very busy! Met them at the discount village, spent £56 on a pair of winter boots and new school shoes both for dd, also got some shoe protector stuff to try and protect them a bit from dd! Hopefully that should do her now for over the winter although will keep an eye out for some cheap canvas type shoes as well.

Have realised that she needs some warm trousers, she has some sensory issues with clothes and it can be really hard work to find clothes that she likes, I think are good value and are practical enough! There seems to be nothing for her age 9-10yo atm, she refuses to wear denim of any description...

Collieputthekettleon · 26/10/2015 15:14

girlie is there anything in Sainsbury's TU? The sale is on tomorrow and you may find something she will wear. They had pretty jogging bottoms in our local store about a month ago. Will she wear cords?

Lovetoknit · 26/10/2015 15:51
