Bloody hell spotty that's frightening! Fab pumpkin [thigrin]

needastrongone · 25/10/2015 18:14

Prefer you as bantam, bantam Smile

CremeEggThief · 25/10/2015 18:34

Class pumpkin, Spotty. Very scary!

Welcome to all returners and newbies.Smile
Lovely autumn day out today, having a walk and getting lots of fresh air at a local attraction with DS. I really appreciate any family time we get now that he's 13 and addicted to games and screens.
I was meant to cook a vegetarian roast dinner when we got home, but decided to be naughty and ordered a ChineseShock for a tenner. It should be here any minute.

AuditAngel · 25/10/2015 18:35

Ipsos no they don't. The girls (8.5 and 5) go to a Catholic primary which "Requires improvement" and DS moved to secondary in September. It is a Voluntary Aided Catholic school, but only opened 2 years ago, do he is the third cohort. They seem to be using a Grammar model for certain things, and the borough we live in is one if the better off London boroughs, so some parents have a high income.

CremeEggThief · 25/10/2015 18:35

Definitely complain on twitter and Facebook, north. That's shockingly bad customer service.Angry

ipsos · 25/10/2015 18:39

Fluffy it's absolutely true, everything for the house does cost £1000. I always notice that. Fortunately our garden is flat as flat and pre-stomped so I can just get a labourer to lay the stones where I want them, and that does the job.

Great pumpkin spotty

Need our family is almost the exact opposite of yours. We're all constitutional bushbaby types. Everything is done by very tentative, gentle discussion. When I asked ds (aged 5) if he might possibly help with the dishwasher to help me be stuck in bed less often, he stood up straight, gave a huge proud glowing smile and said "I will do it every single time for you!".

AuditAngel · 25/10/2015 18:41

Blueteapot ours are costing £13,800 it is expensive because we are a large detached house and due to the way the house faces they are planning on putting 26 panels up (I think) across 3 sides of the roof.

Most people only have one side, or sometimes 2.

CremeEggThief · 25/10/2015 18:42

Aw, Ipsos, how sweet is he! That made me Smile.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/10/2015 18:43

Ipsos dd is a horror for doing anything around the house. She hates tidying and leaves her dirty clothes everywhere. She's five too. Ds is still in the 'trying to please' stage so is a bit better!

Mmm Chinese...

I've got the dentist tomorrow Sad

ipsos · 25/10/2015 18:54

Audit do you have a hipped roof? We have that so all the sides are triangles which is a nuisance for rectangular solar panels. I did think about solar tiles but then I worry about water-tightness and access to fix them. Hum.

Thanks "Creme". :-)

Spotty I have always been a shambles round the house too. Ds takes after dh fortunately. He's always putting lids back on bottles and closing doors behind me.

AuditAngel · 25/10/2015 18:56

Ipsos the panels we are getting come with 25 year maintenance included. The company is Which recommended.

AuditAngel · 25/10/2015 19:04

Ipsos I'm not sure what a hipped roof is Halloween Blush but the front and back are triangular, the sides are longer with a flat top along the ridge where the house has been extended.

babsmam · 25/10/2015 19:16

£5.80 at the skate park. The cafe doesn't take cards and I had £5.86 in my purse. I had lunch when I got home but really missed my lunchtime cupa.

Toys r us for a shlep for list ideas. £10.26 and dc are paying me back £9 of that. The Halloween stuff is reduced too.

CremeEggThief · 25/10/2015 19:17

I have to say it was delicious, Spotty. Probably more so as I haven't had one for about 3 months.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2015 19:20

I am consumed with solar panel envy.

Dh is getting mightily pissed off with me jumping up every half an hour to switch the heating off and again half an hour later to switch it back on so I might be in line for a chop cloc if the readings show it's working.

spotty I hope the dentist trip goes well. Your dd sounds like me. It took having my own home to turn me round. I out tidy dh now.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/10/2015 19:27

Tbh fluffy she gets it from me Blush I have a floordrobe in my room and washing still in the tumble drier from yesterday....

Glad you enjoyed it Creme

I might have to go to bed soon as been up since half four Halloween Confused think I will.

blueteapot · 25/10/2015 19:43

Audit wow that is a lot! But I guess if it'll pay for itself in time then its definitely frugaleering! We are a semi and have a front and back roof meeting at the top, but we have a converted attic so a lot of the back roof is taken up with a dorma window... down the street have them, facing the front only (must be to do with the way the street faces maybe?) so would probably be a lot less.... still more than we have spare at the minute unfortunately but I'd love to do them

ipsos · 25/10/2015 19:44

Audit what happens of the solar industry falls over when the feed-in tariff stops and your solar company goes bust?

One of my friends just had external wall insulation done and they didn't even have time to file the building regs before the company went bust. (not meaning to rain on your parade, but I'm just trying to get my ideas straight)

NK5BM3 · 25/10/2015 19:45

Hello! We are back from peppa pig world! It was v nice actually to my surprise. Perhaps I am mellowing with age. Smile

Spent a lot though. Dinner at the hotel's posh restaurant (which wasn't too bad actually - kinda like the price of zizzi or something) £52. Purchases in Ppw nearly £100 (lunch £13, shop £52, crap £12. Other crap on second day the rest of the money). Dinner out the second night on our way home £34.

Today church a few quid. Wilkos £10. Aldi £44.

No more purchases this week I don't think. Till Friday when I have hair cut and colour. And dd's hair cut too.

NK5BM3 · 25/10/2015 19:46

spotty love the pumpkin! Haven't got ours yet.

ipsos · 25/10/2015 19:47

LOL at Fluffy's solar panel envy. I can imagine you really loving them. I'm getting cold feet now so that might help ease off the peer-pressure. Looking forward to hearing about Audit's though.

NK5BM3 · 25/10/2015 19:49

ipsos we have solar panels too - think might have told you. It's 16 panels and we have them on the back and side. We are a semi.

Didn't pay any at the start. We pay for them direct to hitachi who are the panel makers. We pay what we would pay electricity anyway so it's not more money.

needastrongone · 25/10/2015 20:12

Smile Your DS made me smile. That's why I enjoy chatting with you, we are opposites!

needastrongone · 25/10/2015 20:23

ipsos, I meant, hic, had wine, sorry!

Girlfriend36 · 25/10/2015 20:40

Hi all, just sitting down after another busy day at work and then met my friend at the cinema straight from work to watch The Suffragettes! Was very good but blimey the cinema is expensive these days, £9.25 Shock pre bought chocolate in Tescos, used the self service and it gave me too much change Grin thank you very much Tescos!

Have just skim read as am tired but ipsos sorry to hear you are still not feeling great, your son sounds very sweet though! My dd seems to play me up if I am ill although she did make me a cup of tea once Wink am having some success with getting her to put a tick on the calendar for every day she does a job i.e. empty dw, hoover, tidy bedroom etc she will then get pocket money depending on how many tickets there are!

Tomos has the potential to be ridiculously spendy as am going to local discount village, am meeting dd there (she has been at her Grandads this wend while I worked) need to get her a load of new shoes including winter boots, school shoes and some canvass type shoes. Will take some food and snacks with me and try and reign it in a bit....

Currently trying to type with stupid boy cat on my arm occasionally biting me as he disapproves of me typing and not stroking him Hmm

For the pp who was asking about lunches, I always take a lunch into work and sometimes it is just a cheese sandwich, crisps, yogurt and fruit! Still much cheaper to take your own then buy every day!
