Hi all, am so happy its Friday Grin this week has been a slog!

Spends

£1.40 on a Subway for dd, had a voucher so actually only paid for a large drink and the sub was free - bonus!
£5.50 on a MacDs for me, much needed after a busy day!
£1 on a 4 pack of Bountys (two of which have already disappeared [blushed])

Can't believe how dark it is getting now, seems to happen all of a sudden.

Agree with Needa and Blue re diet, the thought of cutting wheat or dairy out of our diets makes my head hurt so wouldn't do it unless really desperate. I am pretty sure the GP wouldn't be that interested in sending dd for any testing plus they did attempt a blood test not that long ago which didn't happen due to dd completely freaking out! She is 9yo (sorry can't remember who asked how old she is!) and I don't think the problems are bad enough to warrant it anyway, her ENT issues are actually improving loads which the Drs always said they would.

Have decided will have to go to local discount shopping village over half term as dd needs a complete new set of shoes including school shoes, winter boots and some casual shoes for outside of school.

NK5BM3 · 16/10/2015 20:27

I spent £35 at m&s on lots of posh pizzas, and dine in for £10 curries!! 2 mains and 3 sides for £10! Not bad I think?!

Had a nice evening with a newish friend and her kids. Our kids are now friends at school and we get on. It was v pleasant indeed. She brought brownies.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/10/2015 20:37

pink He didn't do it on purpose though, he probably wont do it again either. I think October has been spendy for all of us.

bbc Fab saving.

£40 on weekly shop & £20 on boots but I ordered them this morning and they cancelled the order. Then they went back on the website so I've ordered them again. Just for the craic really.

HairsprayQueen · 16/10/2015 20:37

Payday. I love payday, I feel so motivated by plans and sums and then a week later it all goes to pot.

£15 in the coop- wine and dinner, unnecessary really or at least should have walked to lidl.

Not going to blow our money on a big pay day day out tomorrow, we learnt from that last month, pacing ourselves now!

babsmam · 16/10/2015 21:01

Dh pay day today thank God.
£4 beavers and £20 in morrisons but got a new baby gift in the clothes sale.

Rotten luck pink.

31weeksgone · 16/10/2015 21:39

Hi everyone. I follow this thread but never actually comment Blush I'm 36 weeks pregnant and NEEDED pizza seeing as on bedrest as my other half was out all day and evening so £20 spend on that, and then £7 on a Christmas organiser planner. In theory it should help save money by planning it all out though, worried about doing Christmas this year and remembering everyone with a 6 week old! Anyway, hi everyone Smile

Whatabout · 16/10/2015 21:44

Today was a very expensive day. I went to the supermarket this morning to get cold supplies for me and the baby and some odds and sods of food. £65. I nearly just walked out. Two half full bags. Rahhhhh.

I bought a swing chair for the baby and a big box of olaynobil 123 for Ds1 in Argos. £65. I can't even put the swing together as j can't push in one of the nobbles. Argh.

Booked spa and massage for on holiday for me, £85.

So yeah. Disaster of spending.

Pointlessfan · 16/10/2015 21:48

Hi 31weeks and welcome. Could you do some online Xmas shopping before your lovely baby arrives?
Total frugal fail today, was tired hungry and fed up after rubbish afternoon at work. Went to Asda for a pizza, eggs and loo roll and ended up spending £26 on chocolatey treats, beer etc to cheer myself up. DH spent £10 on a bloody tea towel but that's another story!

CremeEggThief · 16/10/2015 21:53

Welcome 31weeksSmile.
£10 on a single tea towel?Shock

Girlfriend36 · 16/10/2015 21:58

Welcome 31weeks you are in good company, I think there are a few pregnant frugeleers here at the moment!

Am a bit concerned about my dishwasher, the filter bit at the bottom keeps getting filled up with water and going mouldy Confused have cleaned the bottom out best I can and just it on a hot wash empty, anything else I can try?

31weeksgone · 16/10/2015 22:02

Thanks for making me welcome! Grin Need to wait until next payday now (last of month) to buy xmas presents, so it depends if baby wants to make an appearance before then or not! Hoping to be induced at 38 weeks so it may be Christmas shopping whilst doing night feeds which is where the planner helps baby brain! Wink £10 on a tea towel?!

annatha · 16/10/2015 22:45

Hi 31weeks, I'm 36 weeks on Monday and desperately trying to get Xmas shopping done before baby arrives. We're fobbing most of the family off with photos of the baby just like last year with dd and I think people know we'll not be going mad spending this year.

£13.30 left from the budget to do the weekly shop on Monday Grin if it wasn't for the TV box thingy we would've stuck to the budget well. Borrowing from next week's pot until the eBay sales money comes through.

toobreathless · 16/10/2015 22:49

Hello 31weeks I am 40+1 weeks today :) thank you everyone else for the good luck wishes. This is DC3 and I am very uncomfortable tonight, definately tightening a d they are painful but have bed. So for about 3 weeks and irregular, sigh!

£4 co op today: bread x 2, fruit loaf x 1, grapes, blueberries & strawberries, 6 pints milk. All less than half price.

31weeksgone · 16/10/2015 23:19

Hi annatha, we're pretty close together then, I was 36 weeks yesterday. Hopefully we can just do the xmas shopping with next months payday before baby makes an appearance. The photos are a brilliant idea though, thanks Grin and good luck toobreathless you must be beyond ready. Fingers crossed its the start for you! Wine

ohhelpohnoitsa · 17/10/2015 00:01

bbc you have given me fame! It was ME with the Ebay dishwasher details. I buy washpowder too. Such a huge saving and glad you share it with me.
I think we need a new dishwasher though. Ours is 12yrs old and has never been good.
Nsd here in coinage but lots of petil used on 2 trips to hospital to visit family member. Was fruitful though as said family member gave dcs some pocket money for half term holiday when we go away. More than worth the fuel costs. Trouble is another family.member bouht us all a costa coffee and now I cant.sleep. bring on the zzzzzzzzz

ohhelpohnoitsa · 17/10/2015 00:08

girl try soda crystals and a hot wash. If that doesnt work bleach and a teeny squirt of fairy liquid. Either way rinse again after before putting pots in.

Very Envy of all these imminent arrivals. I love having babies! I love the expectation and anticipation, the birth and the newborn. Enjoy every moment you lucky people (easy to say with rose tinted hindesight specs Smile 3 yrs later).

Whatabout · 17/10/2015 03:23

Ohhelp I'm up feeding the five week old, want to swap?? Sleep would be lovely but you're right not as lovely as baby.

babsmam · 17/10/2015 06:10

Work this morning. Then speedy afternoon as need to replenish birthday pressie stock, have a few coming up.

Welcome 31weeks, good luck with baby frugalness (start them frugaleering Young that's what I say Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 17/10/2015 06:58

I'm Envy too.

This morning I'm going to lidl hoping to do it as cheaply as possible. Wish me luck! Anything over £40 will upset me, never managed it that cheap though Grin

Pointlessfan · 17/10/2015 07:26

Yes £10 on one tea towel! I'd asked him to nip into a specific shop in town (he works in town) to get a specific apron for my mum's birthday as I know she would love it. He decided it was too expensive so got the tea towel version of it instead to save money! He can't see that a tea towel is quite a shit present and more of a waste of money than the apron which I know she would love. His heart was in the right place though I suppose.
All this talk of babies is making me broody!
Having my hair cut today - £26 but that should be it.

Pointlessfan · 17/10/2015 07:28

Meant to say girlie try a hot wash with white vinegar on your dw.

Collieputthekettleon · 17/10/2015 08:31

31weeks i was in the same situation as you 2 years ago! Time has flown Blush I had a 6 week old on Christmas Day. It was lovely but so exhausting. I tried to force a "magical" Christmas on to myself, DH & our new DS. By Boxing Day we were so tired of it all I took the decorations down and spent a day in bed.
Blush

So my biggest tip is to buy some cute Christmas pyjamas and relax.

I also made the mistake of wrapping Christmas presents whilst DS was in a crib playing. He HATED the sound of cellotape.

whatabout hope you sorted the swing thing. I found that most baby equipment was frustrating! Cold / flu stuff is so expensive. We had the same problem a few months ago.

LSD - we need steak pasties!

I'm exhausted. Been up since 3am with intense period pain! Ughhhh

NK5BM3 · 17/10/2015 08:49

Thanks BBC and fluffy for comments on dw. I do buy the cheap rinse aid and salt from those random cheap shops so that's fine. I'll try and hunt down this elusive daisy dw powder. Where do you chuck it? In the dw tablet container or in the dw itself over the dishes???

At some point need to do shop, maybe today, maybe tomorrow. Have a good weekend!

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/10/2015 09:05

You just chuck it in the bottom of the machine.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/10/2015 09:23

£49 in lidl and at the end the checkout guy commented on my good packing

Also picked up two magazines so I have £5 off £40 spend for the next two weeks!
