Rubbish weather here. I've got to wash the bedding and towels just waiting for the dw to finish.

Ds and I have done some potato printing (excuse my skanky floor we are saving for a new one) and now he's having a bath.

We need coffee but dh is going to get some for once he got paid on time!

Lovely potato prints spotty. Smile

lilacclery · 05/10/2015 11:26

Potato prints are fab spotty
Enjoy your morning off girlfriend

I didn't end up going to HomeStore and More so those spends are postponed, still need the mat and pillows after all. Could order online with free delivery but I want to feel the different pillow types, my dh and dd don't like 'crunchy' pillowsSmile

Spent €87 on my night out Sat night Shock but really enjoyed it
€10 yesterday on a bottle of red wine to go with a bottle of white from home to thank someone who gave me the loan of her special carseat for ds after his operation, it was never used after all but I had it 3 weeksBlush

Chinese for dinner last night €30 but they got our order wrong so I returned dh's and got €8.50 back

We will hit the 1000 post today/tomorrow looks like a 3 post month again.

Welcome toobreathless your boiler sounds like mine a woodpellet one, we need a delivery usually every 8 months or so of about €1000.

TheOnlyPink · 05/10/2015 11:28

Morning everyone! Haven't kept up over the weekend, and seem to have missed loads!

Spent €6 in lidl yesterday. Popped in to see if they had the Christmas fudge from last year, but made the mistake of bringing the kids and dh. Box of Turkish delight, honey peanuts, lebkuchen, and spiced almond biscuits in the basket! Still, took the treats out of the tesco order to make up for it.
Tesco delivered this morning, €96. Need to get a photo printed for ds 2 for preschool, but other than that it should be a no spend week.

Got some bras delivered today, but they are miles too small, so will be getting €56 refund. Evans don't take returns in store in Ireland, and postal service not accepting post due to industrial action, so not sure how it's going to pan out!

Hope everyone is well!

Girlfriend36 · 05/10/2015 11:35

Its been an expensive morning £150 on 3 new tyres Shock was hoping to get away with just 2 but no, could have had all 4 replaced tbh but the one i left has a bit more life left in it so will leave for now!

Just written a cheque for £70 to cover two days childcare over half term oh well hoping that is it for the big spends this month!!

ipsos · 05/10/2015 11:39

Pink I didn't know the posties were on strike in Ireland. Good to know. When we send parcels first class Uk to Ireland they always take three weeks to the day. I always wonder what they are doing that it takes so long. Must be a complicated process.

babsmam · 05/10/2015 12:45

my NSD became a bit spendy
£24 in build a bear buit with various vouchers that came down from £43
£15 in B&M, had to tear myself away from the christmas stuff though
£15 in morrisons- 300g after 8's (max 4) and chocolate oranges are £1 each
£31 in tesco on half price playmobil

staying in now and spending no more - although i did save £4 by going for a run instead of a fitness class

Girlfriend36 · 05/10/2015 12:49

Half price playmobil? Hmmmm.......

fuzzpig · 05/10/2015 12:58

Noooo don't tell me that! The DCs do NOT need any more Playmobil. They don't. They don't. THEY DON'T.

TheOnlyPink · 05/10/2015 13:04

ipsos its not the posties, tbh I can't quite grasp what the problem is, but a third party contractor company is refusing to process the post. So things already in the system are getting delivered, but nothing new. Was talking to my postman this morning, he said he was nearly finished his round, that usually takes until lunch time, and that was at 8.15 this morning!
I usually get my parcels within a week when I buy stuff online!

Spent another €8.80 to get my winter coat dry cleaned. It badly needed doing but was shocked at the cost. And that was with 20% off on Mondays offer! Cheaper than a new coat. I used to buy a new cheap one every year, but bought an expensive one in a sale in August last year. Reduced from £110 to £30. It's still immaculate, just a bit grubby, so pleased with that!

Lovetoknit · 05/10/2015 13:18

Welcome newbies
NSD yesterday since we stayed at home, luckily managed to do another load of laundry before the weather changed.
£20 at Asda this morning but nearly £10 was for 12kg bag of dog food since they didn't have the bigger one.
Just did the order from Sainsbury's to use £16 off £60 for tomorrow and finally did the meal plan with dh.
Mo - Cauliflower and broccoli cheese with leftover lamb for dh, chicken nuggets, chips and beas for dc
Tue - Pork chops, mash and cavolo nero from the veg box and Homemade pizza for dc
Wed - Pasta and meatballs
Thu - Cottage Pie
Fri - Fish and chips
Sat - Burritos or Chilli and rice
Sun - Roast dinner

Binglet · 05/10/2015 13:29

Bonjour frugaleers! I am back from hen weekend! Managed to come in under budget and actually had enough left over to go halves on an unfrugal meal last night with DP and DD. Went to our local harvester and paying on our joint Halifax card means we get 15% cashback. So sort of more frugal right?!

Spends this weekend included £5.20 on primark leggings for work, and a family organiser from paperchase, reduced from £15 to £2!! Withdrew £80 Friday and this paid for all of the above + wine, pizza, more wine and dinner out on Saturday. Managed to get the bride to want to stay in the cottage and we had a fab weekend. Now just the wedding in two weeks time. Confused

Girlfriend36 · 05/10/2015 16:01

Just spent £4 on a tray of pansies and another plant, need to do something with my hanging basket as it is looking mighty sad now that summer is over.

Its now chucking it down but quite muggy here now!

bobblypop · 05/10/2015 16:40

Afternoon all. Busy night on call last night means I spent most of my day off in bed....good for not spending!
£10 on dd1 dinner card
£8.60 on ice skating for dd1 and 2

Nothing else for today !

bobblypop · 05/10/2015 16:42

Gutted to have just found out morrissons are stopping the match points on the match and more card. We used to get a £5 voucher almost every time we did a big shop. Back to aldi full time it is then....

ipsos · 05/10/2015 16:47

We've been having a clear out of baby things, hoping to find the attic floor at some point. Quite fun really and definitely a NSD activity. Puzzled to realise that ds still fits in the highchair.

ipsos · 05/10/2015 17:04

If anybody lives near Cambridgeshire and needs a whole load of baby stuff secondhand then please do pm me. I think we will get rid of a whole lot of ds's baby things soon.

NiceandaSlice · 05/10/2015 17:18

Looking very dark and ominous here too - an hour more at work then osteopath which will be £34, plus I need fuel so that will be another £45. An expensive day.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/10/2015 17:42

£18.74 on work stuff.

574ejones · 05/10/2015 17:46

£2.20 lunch and that is it . Trying to keep it a low spend week as go on holiday at the end of the week Grin however, now I know the chocolate oranges are only £1 in Morrisons, I might have to pop in!

Flowers for you electrolux that's really rubbish. Have you looked online for cheaper glasses? Don't blame you for having a proper tantrum.
I'm just heating something from the freezer for tea whilst using the last of my sweet potatoes to make soup for tomorrow's lunch. Today was NSD but supermarket plus DD's haircut tomorrow.

Girlfriend36 · 05/10/2015 18:02

Electrolux Flowers and Wine sorry to hear things are so shit, have the kids got any old clothes or toys you could sell? I dug out dds old bike seat and somehow made £20 on it the other week.

Does the 5p bag charge apply to clothes shops as well? In my head was thinking it was only supermarkets but dawned on me today that it may be all bags?

ipsos · 05/10/2015 18:03

Electrolux So sorry to hear about the glasses. That is so hard to deal with. Can you see plausibly without them? Specsavers seem to be doing complete glasses from £25 if you have one near you.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/10/2015 18:07

Electrolux so sorry Thanks I agree about looking online for cheap frames or tesco opticians are meant to be cheap?
