Evening.

Fluffy I have (possibly a little sadly) gone for polished pebble, which is essentially grey. With a funky feature wall in the kitchen which has butterflies on. I will take a picture of this to upload tomorrow. I like feature walls, you can afford to buy expensive wall paper, but only one or two rolls, so you get the effect, but not so much of the cost.

Today has been interesting. DD took a massive tumble off the pony last night and woke up this morning with blurred vision. We've been in hospital all day, CT scans and 3 consultants. No concussion, but damage to the fourth cranial nerve and some muscle damage. So, if she looks to the left, she see 5 of me!!! It might take a few days to clear, but may take weeks or months.

We had to go and work at a fund raiser tonight, she wasn't supposed to go, but refused not to, then was shattered at 10pm and burst into tears.

Luckily, the consultant was a sports person, and got the fact that DD is unlikely to agree to not ride for 2 months, so told her to listen to her body and not to push it too hard. She's signed off school for at least a week. Fat chance of that too.

One of the consultants let her have a look at her brain scan, which was very interesting!!

needastrongone · 25/09/2015 23:05

em Grin. Your outfit sounds lovely btw, sod 'em!!

needastrongone · 25/09/2015 23:07

Welcome bobbly Oh my word, how do you feed all your tribe. I have two teenagers, but the male variety I cannot feed enough!

needastrongone · 25/09/2015 23:10

girlie I cannot tell you how friendly and amazing all the staff at the hospital were today. Every single one, without fail. I took her to the small, local hospital rather than the large city one, but nevertheless, really fantastic.

CremeEggThief · 25/09/2015 23:15

Gosh, Need, sounds scary! I hope your DD makes the quickest recovery possible. Wine

northender · 25/09/2015 23:18

Need hope your dd recovers quickly.

NSD here

Whatabout · 25/09/2015 23:20

I miss scanning brains, glad she is basically ok but what a worry poor thing xx

needastrongone · 25/09/2015 23:24

You scanned brains what? How interesting!!

Girlfriend36 · 25/09/2015 23:32

Blimey Needa how frightening Shock I think it is easy to forget sometimes how dangerous pony/horse riding can be. Really happy you had a good experience and were looked after well though, hope your dd makes a full recovery really quickly.

Emem Grin your outfit sounds really cool, now I finally have some money in the bank some new clothes are def on the agenda!!

babsmam · 26/09/2015 06:02

G osh need glad she is not too badly hurt. NHS staff are fabulous (in the main I know there are tales of bad ones out there)

SpottyTeacakes · 26/09/2015 06:55

Wow need glad she's ok!

I think the NHS is fabulous and I don't have a bad word to say about it or anyone I've met. Patients on the other hand...Wink

Going to lidl this morning then into town to get ds some trousers and a voucher for my niece. Not her birthday until end of October but it'll come out of this months pay.

I'm doing quite well in Christmas. For the dc it's just stocking bits and new pjs for them.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2015 07:22

need It's a good job we wear riding hats in this country, it could have been so much worse for her. I bet your stomach dropped when she couldn't see properly.

We have manor house grey in our lounge, dh calls it HMS Lounge.

spotty We had an old sky plus box, we just plugged it in and it worked.

girlie the next tesco boost even is November, thats what the lady meant. You can take cashback from topcashback as tesco points, the snap and save offers a bit rubbish at the moment but change every week. Excellent way of making extra points and they pay out quickly.

Em Your outfit sounds cool. I have a zebra print pony skin knee length coat and 16" mini skirt that needs to be bought out again. People come over and stroke me when I wear it. Well done for buying them lollys, I bet their mum gets to hear about that.

NK5BM3 · 26/09/2015 07:33

em hilarious!!! Grinpoor dad.

need how scary.... Do feel better soon dd.

Off to work in a bit. I would love to take a day or 2 in lieu next week but I can't. I guess I can just chalk this up and when I do need a day off, I'll just take it. It's pretty flexible and when my boss needs me he has my mobile number anyway... So.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Ememem84 · 26/09/2015 07:57

need poor Dd hope everything's ok. Thank god for riding hats!!!

The skirt was one of my more daring buys. I'm trying this thing now where I don't buy anymore clothes try to get out of my clothes comfort zone. And stop wearing the same old same old.

The denim shirt was a bargain. £7 from primark a couple of years ago. Best buy ever. So soft.

fluffy pony skin skirt sounds awesome. Wear it this weekend.

LittleMissLady · 26/09/2015 08:48

I have a question about topcashback.
I use Tesco and it states 10.5% back but is that just for delivery sign ups? Or is that the standard cash back rate? As that's quite high!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2015 08:50

It's the delivery plan.

needastrongone · 26/09/2015 08:51

Grin. DH is not enamoured with the grey trend either, it is safe to say!

Thanks, I am just waiting for DD to wake up, see how she is today.

I don't pander to much fuss and nonsense with my DC, as you guys might be aware. DD can be a bit of a drama queen at the best of times, which I usually ignore, so I was a bit tough with her to start with. Had a long chat with her while we were at the hospital and explained that it is precisely for this reason I can be tough, cos when it's serious, like it was yesterday, I will know it's serious! I did apologise for being tough though.

What is 'pony skin' Angry? Smile

Girlfriend36 · 26/09/2015 09:05

Ha Need am sure its not actual pony skin...... (right Fluffy? Wink)

Those of you with husbands in their 30s any ideas for good gifts around the £20 mark would be appreciated, got both my brothers bdays in Oct and last year just ended up writing them a cheque as could not think of anything to get them!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2015 09:17

Dh chose the colour! I like it though. I wanted almost black but was cruelly vetoed. I bet she sleep in late, you needs lots of rest to get over brain related stuff.

Pony skin is fake pony fur. People ask me if it's real though Confused

Collieputthekettleon · 26/09/2015 09:48

We once lived in a house with battle ship grey walls. It was gorgeous! So warm & it suited everything. I can't wait to recreate the look.

Men are so hard to buy for. I can't remember what I got DH for his bday. Blush the wallet ninjas look good though! Getting one for DH for Christmas.

574ejones · 26/09/2015 09:52

Girlie best present I ever bought my DH was a Swiss Army knife. You can get Victorinox Spartan ones in Go Outdoors within your price range.

TheOnlyPink · 26/09/2015 10:18

em that's absolutely hilarious! The poor man! Bet he was very relieved you saw the funny side of it!

need hope your dd is ok! Such a fright!

Girl my dh would love a swiss army knife too! Board games are always a winner with him.too, but realise that's not everyone's thing. A nice hoody would be appreciated, or a sci-fi/fantasy novel.

Spendy day today, need to get ds 1 his beavers jumper and beavers bag. They both need winter bits too. They were complaining of being cold in bed last night, so fleecy pyjamas. Their slippers are too small, they didn't wear them all summer. Hats are both frayed so need replacing. It's nearly October so the weather is going to change soon! Want to use the heating less this year too!

Whatabout · 26/09/2015 10:23

We have a grey kitchen, I was quite scared about doing it but it gets lots of compliments. It's a brilliant colour, we just bought home base own brand kitchen paint.

Today big boy has swimming and I am planning to take a walk with the baby to look for sloes, i have a tip off as to where some are! Then all the neighbours want to come and visit the baby. Three sets of people. We had a bad night so not really up for visitors so I'm hoping they don't stay too long although our kids will entertain each other.

SpottyTeacakes · 26/09/2015 11:57

£38 in h&m last bits for ds
£55 lidl
£19 tesco but that included a bottle of wine and stuff for dd's harvest festival box, they donate to the local food bank so I checked the website to see what they need
£45 petrol

Dh gave me £10.

Girlfriend36 · 26/09/2015 12:06

Ooo thank you some good ideas, will have a look at swiss army knives, board games and hoodies!!

So been to a craft fair this morning being held at dds school, felt a bit sorry for them as it was really quiet. Spent loads more than I meant to, about £15 however got two packs of Christmas cards, a lovely handmade picture frame, Christmas decorations and a cup of tea and cake for that!

Gave dd £5 pocket money which is something she gets about twice a year!
