Sainsbury's accidentally duplicated my refund / evoucher. It would give me £16 in total. But I was honest and I've emailed them back explaining that I shan't be redeeming the second evoucher .

Lovetoknit · 11/09/2015 16:32

Thank you collie and well done Flowers
Great news lilac and pink
Feels like autumn again, rain and fog on the way home from school, it's hard to safe money on electricity when you need to have a light on nearly all day Sad
At least it should be better tomorrow so I should be able to get all the laundry done but I definitely didn't miss the white shirts in the summer Grin

ipsos · 11/09/2015 17:13

Know what you mean about the white shirts lovetoknit. I just did my first lot yesterday, in the wee hours, on realising that we'd already run out.

ipsos · 11/09/2015 18:08

ds (5) has got to the end of his first full time week at school. He's still smiling, had two play dates, and only one trouser wetting. Home lunching went well.

I'm feeling quite elated that we managed that. I would be opening the champagne if I was a drinker. Actually watching Mary Poppins. :-)

lilacclery · 11/09/2015 19:07

lovetoknit I hear you about the weather we had to divert & add about 10 miles to our journey due to roads being impassable with flooding.
Home & fire on & next is my pjs it's been a long day since 1.45am alarm!

Well done on broadband conversation pink

lilacclery · 11/09/2015 19:11

Welcome eliza we will all help out where we can

need sorry to hear about that awful situation be sure to take lots of time to let it sink in & process it

CremeEggThief · 11/09/2015 19:21

Pleased for both of you, Lilac and Ipsos.

Good work on the broadband, Pink.

£35 for garden maintenance and 75p on a loaf of bread. And £167.41 on my final water bill for my old property. The £100 Halifax switch incentive came in handy.

Happy frugal weekend, everyone. Smile

CremeEggThief · 11/09/2015 19:22

Welcome to our newbies!

Girlfriend36 · 11/09/2015 19:41

Hi all Smile

Needa Flowers

Well done Ipsos ds Star

So LSD for me £1.52 on chocolate and sweets at the shop which we are now eating whilst watching Tangled!

Collie twas me that recommended Vertbaudet - glad you liked it! Word of warning i have found their stuff can come up quite small so I always went a size more than I would normally go for! They often have offers and deals so worth keeping an eye out for those.

Should be a LSD wend as am working all of it Sad

TheOnlyPink · 11/09/2015 19:57

lilac the weather has been shocking altogether today, sorry to hear your journey home took longer. Not good when you have a sick little boy. Hope you are all ok, and can get an early night!

ipsos delighted for you and ds!! Life is so much better when they are happy!! Hope it's the start of a very good year.

creme happy weekend to you too!!

We've had such a lovely afternoon, and haven't spent a penny. We were soaking after the school run, so we had milky water with a tea bag dunked in tea and banana bread when we got in and then we did some lego, and after dinner we all watched toy story (it's now on netflix!). It was ds 2 first time watching it, it blew his mind! He was literally on the edge of his seat with excitement! Perfect rainy afternoon! Love that my kids are getting old enough to do those kinds of things. They're free! Wink
Nsd! My 4th this week!

TheOnlyPink · 11/09/2015 19:58

Gosh that post is full of exclamation marks. Apologies for sounding like nethuns! Wink

Girlfriend36 · 11/09/2015 20:06

babsmam · 11/09/2015 20:23

welll done ipsos ds

£4 on beavers and that is is as i never made it to Aldi/ Lidl

Girlfriend36 · 11/09/2015 20:37

Oops just £29 on Amazon, broken down that is £20 on 3 Christmas gifts for dd including lego technic, a geode kit and a stocking filler, £4 on a clear water bottle for dd (apparently her other clear water bottle isn't clear enough Hmm) and some cream for me that I am too embarrassed to go into Boots and buy Blush Grin

Checked my account and I am overdrawn but only by £1 so def not as bad as I thought, I had claimed my cashback which was £20 and have also had a random payment of £4 from the tax credit people Confused hoping thats not it for the month!!

blueteapot · 11/09/2015 21:57

Evening all. Just up from a day at the caravan / window shopping, DS has stayed down with my folks until tomorrow.

£32 on petrol / 2 packs of 4 for £1 chocolate for everyone.

£13 in boots but used points so free.

mum bought coffees and we had tea at the caravan so no spends there.

Felt a bit embarrassed though, Im trying to be strict with myself with money, DM is normally very frugal and we do it together but today she was asking if we were having money problems! I said no just now that all the DIY etc is over we are trying to be stricter with ourselves and save back up. Why do I feel so embarrassed still!

Hugs to those that need them. Catching up on eat well for less... my word that was a lot of junk food!

Blondie1984 · 11/09/2015 22:32

Still lots of blackberries out there ready for picking if anyone is looking for an activity this weekend - i was only out for 15mins and have enough to go with my breakfast for the next few days - there's no food better than free food!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2015 07:10

Nsd yesterday.

Today tesco delivery will be £50.

Ds needs new shoes as his feet are over hanging his crocs.

We don't have enough money in the account for our rent to come out Tuesday. Have requested an increase in our overdraft but won't find out until Wednesday. Worst case I'll borrow some money from the dc savings accounts.

lilacclery · 12/09/2015 07:39

Ah blue that was sweet of your mum
spotty could you keep rent money in another account so it doesn't get spent in future? This month is expensive what with back to school.

Spends yesterday were as low as poss really a boost bar at 5am as place we stopped at was one of those 24 hour places that you've to ask at window then dh paid for breakfast while ds was in surgery, i had a bacon sandwich & he paid for the parking & I paid for lunch for everyone ??32 I'd a warm Mexican chicken salad which came with chips & brown bread so only had a slice of toast when I came home.
Got a cake & some hair ties(treat for dd who was at home) & antibiotics out of joint account.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2015 07:54

It comes out of our bill account anyway so it hasn't been spent. I think it's a combination of a couple of five week months (food wise) plus dh gets paid twice a month which is really annoying. In 45 days we will get £100 for switching and in October we finish paying our loan so I know we will be fine it's just a problem right now. Plus I did 36 hours over time last month which I'll get end of this month Smile our new bank account doesn't have as big an overdraft as our old one it's only £200 and we need it to be £500 for now.

northender · 12/09/2015 07:56

need thinking of you, what an awful thing to happen.
spotty hope your overdraft gets sorted

All the blackberry picking reports are inspiring me, will try to get some over the weekend.

Ds has his last cricket matches of the season today and tomorrow. He's had a great season but it does feel like a relief. Cricket just takes over our summer and means that we don't do a lot of things that we otherwise would. With that in mind, we are hoping to do more stuff over the winter instead.

Last night, as cricket training has finished, we had our first "Family Friday" of the winter (inspired by someone on here last year I think). Burgers and wedges for tea and then watched Johnny English Reborn which the dc love. We'll take turns to choose films to watch and other weeks play cards/board games. Even teenage DS likes doing it.

This week I've made a meal planning file listing all the meals we have and grouping them into different days eg Tuesday's always need to be a quick meal, Fridays we have a takeaway type meal, Sundays a roast, Monday leftovers etc. I've done the same for lunches too. I have just come to the conclusion (it's taken me a while!) that organising things at home with a more military approach is the way to go! Next week I'm going to sort all the cleaning/tidying jobs around the house into a timetable. I'll let you know how it all goes haha!

Have a good weekend everyone

Right NO more spending.
I'm going to get back on the saving wagon, my appilcation for the shared ownership has been moved on to the next step. Grin so now I have to save.

The other reason why I need to save is because I went to ascot and spent a fortune. It's was £150 for a table and lunch for the whole day, per person. Then there was drinks, and traveling costs, clothing costs, taxis. Oh, and the betting.
Phew.........
My poor credit card. :(

Right..... NO more crazy spending.

Pointlessfan · 12/09/2015 08:20

Hope you are ok Need that sounds like an awful thing to happen.
I spent just £6 yesterday on my share of a takeaway with friends, drank lots of wine and had a good catch up so that was a nice cheap night out.
Today I'm going shopping in Birmingham with my mum. This is the birthday shopping trip we had to postpone due to the sickness bug. It's actually better now because I have £25 birthday money and a Next voucher so I can buy a couple of things.
Have a good Saturday everyone, I hope the rain stops.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2015 08:26

Need You poor thing. Flowers

£18.50 on a huge replacement mirror glass and £5 to dh that I owed him.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2015 08:42

Just remembered I've got stuff ending on eBay tomorrow including the pushchair so hoping for some cash that way.

NK5BM3 · 12/09/2015 09:37

Be well need Flowers

As of this weekend, we no longer have to wake so early on Saturdays!! That's coz the kids' swimming classes are now on Tuesday evenings. Yay. I feel a lot more sane being able to lie in, or at least not rush. Still in pjs, kids eating breakfast leisurely and dh actually gone and done the Aldi shop!! Wonderful.

Nsd yesterday. Brought lunch to work, but didn't get to eat it till 3. Play date with friend, kids are there. Yay.
