Thought I would start a new one since the old one is full!

Just popping on to say hi. "Jeffrey" will not win!

needastrongone · 25/08/2015 14:02

So, we are back!

Looking worriedly at the Bosch washing machine now....

I've got most of this week off, so yesterday we went and collected the new pony, who seems to have settled in well so far. Filled the box up at £90. Pony was budgeted for.

Ordered our travel money, but that's been budgeted for too.

Today I've filled the car!

Will be back fully later.

I'm going to, just in case.

Spent £24 on Amazon, birthday present. Will need to spend the same again in cash for t'other one.

I've always been happy with Botsch, but never had a washing machine from them.

lilacclery · 25/08/2015 14:58

candybar I've been having withdrawals too!! But been reading this page in the meantime thriftylesley.com and have found loads of recipes to try out. Our new au pair joins us this weekend and is vegetarian so will need to shake up our meals a bit - thinking 2 fish, 2 meat, 2 veggie and one left to chance. Might save us some money too.

My talk this week at class I run is on lunch and keeping it interesting so I've been thinking a bit about dd's lunchbox as well. Last year her day was shorter so she took grated cheese, strawberries and a yogurt - will have to make it a bit more substantial this year.

cremeegg you can send your child to school between 4 & 6, their preschool year can be used between 3 & 9 months and 5 & 9 months. I sent dd to preschool at 4 years 5 months for the free year as I was on mat leave so didn't have the €65 a week to pay for her to go & then paid for her this year when I was back working.

Thanks for compliments on piece of furniture, I love it!! Kids love it because they can fit on it together but it will be upstairs so won't get roughed about by them either.

candybar I'm jealous of your trip to Disneyland Paris it sounds fab and budgeted well for too

wheelycote · 25/08/2015 15:04

Yay, were back. Will be changing password just to be cautious.

Pointless Sorry that your dh is having to reapply...wrotten business!

Lilac that bit of furniture looks lovely

Pay day today so have budgeted, planned meals for month and shopping list for month.

Redid bank application for the hsbc account to get the free cash with current and savings....have to say though they weren't very impersonable / robotic at first. I asked to speak to someone else and gave the girl constructive feedback....which in hindsight is probably patronising, but hey. A bit of warmth doesn't hurt...

Although...Im probably being a bit more sensitive than normal at the moment.
DP is now in Lincoln for work...its about two hours from here. The plan is he'll be home when he can...he's opening up a food place which is great but this isn't his first and the others over time didn't work....the big plc companies moved in near by and he lost lots of trade and couldnt compete on pricing. Each time he gets absorbed, workaholic....which is whats needed but its a 24/7 job. Last time we split as my Dad had terminal cancer and past away and he had to work so was barely there for me over the year. Im just gutted as he wreckons its a temporary situation for 4-6 months and I hope it is and that it does well. My experience (or pessimism at this point Blush) is that its more a 9-12 month. Not the end of the world....I just don't know anyone here and my family are 1 1/2 hours away. Moved here for his last project.

The Dkids are very settled now. My jobs here and Im in a perfect position travel wise to get to three big centres (good for career and development). Because its just been my wage for some time now and money tight. Traveling to see family and friends isn't possible more than here and there. So feeling gutted and a bit trapped.

Plan is: 1. to use the council gym membership Ive got, to do a couple of exercise classes...hopefully will meet people there

  1. Had a brochure for evening classes for college through the door...with a few extra shifts Ill beable to afford them without dipping into savings...maybe do a Spanish /cookery course...maybe meet people there
Fluffycloudland77 · 25/08/2015 15:07

Oh bugger I've got a Bosch loggix wm too.

Collie Use it as stain remover on clothes. Aldi premium wul is very good.

I've texted dh "it's back up". He replied "thank fuck xxx". I think the tipping point was me getting the external hard drive out to look at all the photos. And I do mean every single photo.

£1.40 on work stuff.

Candy I write lists of things I want. Usually I go off the idea the next day.

I have to remind myself though that frittering on little things means I can't have the big things that really would make me happier.

Collieputthekettleon · 25/08/2015 15:27

Fluffy! Grin I was getting really twitchy last night because mn was down. I couldn't admit it to DH though. He would take the piss!

I need to crack on and meal plan for two weeks but I'm feeling sluggish and headachey. I can't explain it.

Collieputthekettleon · 25/08/2015 15:29

I also write wish lists or do a Pinterest board.

Whatabout · 25/08/2015 15:55

Oh dear, £70 in primark on clothes for my hospital bag and afterwards. Then £16 in marks and Spencer's on treats. BFFF today. I really should have thought harder about what I wanted / needed in both places, £3 of the m&s was for nuts for DH. Must find somewhere cheaper for nuts.

lilacclery · 25/08/2015 15:59

collie I'll be flamed for this but I have to agree with your dh about the washing up liquid, after a few years of trying every cheap one on the market unsuccessfully I gave up, for past couple of years I've only bought fairy liquid on offer and keep a bottle in stock so that I don't end up buying it at full price when I'm caught out. One bottle lasted 4 months!

(((hugs))) is all I can offer wheelycote

I can recommend coursera for online courses, there's something there for everyone and it's free and there's a sense of achievement with completing them too.

Freeandsinglewater · 25/08/2015 16:00

Hurry I'm back.
I've spent £164 on cat stuff today. I sorted out my finance while off line, according to the sums I should be in the lap of luxury, but I'm not, where the fuck is it going? Angry

Whatabout · 25/08/2015 16:06

I agree with lilac, there is a definite limit with washing up liquid and beyond that it's rubbish. I use Ecover as I bought a box full!

Collieputthekettleon · 25/08/2015 16:21

Totally agree. No idea why I decided to buy the really cheap stuff last time Blush

My SC keeps overheating! Sad

Whatabout · 25/08/2015 16:25

Collie maybe use it to wash garden toys or the car?

Collieputthekettleon · 25/08/2015 16:27

That's a brilliant idea!

lilacclery · 25/08/2015 16:38

My friend used a dishwasher tablet once while washing her car said it came up gleaming as a result!

freeandsingle what did you buy to the tune of £164?
Did you put everything in those figures? Birthdays, tyres, car service, tax on 500 different things, charity donations, etc etc There's an ideal budget and a realistic one - my ideal one had my credit cards paid off by end of this year, my realistic one doesn't.

574ejones · 25/08/2015 17:16

Twitching with withdrawal symptoms here too especially as it was Monday Night Football!

so, NSD yesterday, but today spent £2 lunch and £6.50 in Wilkos.

Yay we are back, it was horrible not being able to log on ystd!

So ystd spent £20 on a new coat for dd, she needed a proper water proof one for today at an outdoor activity centre in the pouring rain!! Got it at Go Outdoors so am thinking there was some discount on it Grin

LSD today £1.20 parking to drop dd off (found a free picking up space on collecting her!)
