Thought I would start a new one since the old one is full!

Thanks everyone for all the tips and sympathy Flowers.
I'm feeling a lot better than I was, although still worn out. The saltwater mouth wash has helped loads. On the plus side, another NSD Smile.

AuditAngel · 16/08/2015 18:23

Whatabout those travel potty liners are so expensive. My sisters friend used to use good nappy BAGA (need to be good ones so they are a reasonable size and quite sturdy) shove in a value sanitary towel. Much cheaper.

AuditAngel · 16/08/2015 18:29

I don't know how to change my browser from safari (except by getting out my windows laptop) Blush

You can download firefox or chrome for free on the apps if it's an ipad.

Whatabout · 16/08/2015 18:59

Audit, I tried three different brands of nappy bags (pinched from different folk to try) and none were big enough. I was going to do the nappy bag and ST thing but gave up!

Used up some porridge oats and made flapjacks, husband and son were delighted when they got home from swimming (£4 apparently here!).

Tomorrow I need to buy a toddler sports bottle or three, Amazon are very expensive so going to try pound world or somewhere.

girliefriend · 16/08/2015 19:01

Hi all so spent £7 at the fun day £4 off that was on ice creams though Blush
there were plenty of free activities that dd enjoyed.

Really need to get organised for work tomos.......

SpottyTeacakes · 16/08/2015 19:28

I've just put dd's name down on the waiting list for swimming lessons. It's £28 a month but I think it'll be really good for her. 16 week wait though.

TheOnlyPink · 16/08/2015 19:38

Been through next month's budget with dh, we are trying to pay off as much debt as we can each month. I tried a few different money management things this month and dh was really impressed at how well they have paid off! Grin just things like using accounts differently and using cash as much as possible. For the first time in years, we have money left over. We aren't into overdraft, and every bill is accounted for. Just proved to myself that almost all our money problems were down to bad management. Blush

Any ideas on cheapest place to get airbeds? Off camping next weekend and no ones got any we can borrow Hmm

Evilwater · 16/08/2015 21:19

Well I've blown a lot of money today.
£44 on warm clothes that for for LO
£74 on lush stuff.

Sad I've still got more warm clothes to buy for LO, a car service, cat injections, anti flea stuff, and more nursery to book. Sad
girliefriend · 16/08/2015 21:26

£74 on Lush stuff?? Blimey

Have given dd £20 to take on holiday for spending money, she doesn't get pocket money so that seemed fair. Hopefully she won't blow it all on tat though!

Evil do your vets do a pet plan? At my vets I pay £10 a month per cat and that covers all flea, worm, booster and an annual vet appointment. Given the booster alone is something like £60 it works out loads cheaper!!

girliefriend · 16/08/2015 21:28

Peppa Argos?

babsmam · 16/08/2015 21:37

Peppa millets have single airbeds for £7

AuditAngel · 16/08/2015 21:46

Tesco shop £99. Includedlots of sandwich stuff and cleaning stuff, but no real meat.

I looked at approved foods, but by the time I went to check out the aerial stain remover had gone out of stick, most of what I was buying was treats and extras, so I deleted them.

wheelycote · 16/08/2015 21:56

Peppa Gooutdoors has single airbed for 5pound and double for 10pound

peppapissinpig · 16/08/2015 21:57

Ooh thanks all; will check them out

needastrongone · 17/08/2015 07:47

Checking back in. I've been away for the weekend with DD and the pony. Lovely weekend but a very long drive and I was so tired I went to bed at 8.30pm last night.

Lovely DH had cleaned the house, done the washing and ironing, bought flowers (okay, not frugal) and had our tea waiting for us when we got in. What a lovely DH Grin

Need to meal plan, clean out the horse box, unpack fully, organise some returns and generally get sorted today.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2015 07:51

Swimming in a bit then to B&Q to buy some paint.

Hi from Majorca, fellow frugaleers!

Well frugality hasn't played a massive part but we are trying to remain within our daily budget. ..and dp seems to be eating everything he can so will save money when he gets home as will be put on a strict diet (joking, well mostlyBlush). We've had breakfast and all except one lunch in our room and eaten out in the evenings. Hotel drinks are annoyingly expensive so dp has beers in the fridge.

Coming home on a few days and thoughts are turning to school shoes and a new winter wardrobe for dd as she has grown tons since last year. Thou now she is at school FT she can make do with less. ..

I like Wagamamas (sorry!) I'm fussy and there's nothing too adventurous about it.....

lilacclery · 17/08/2015 09:23

theonlypink that's great going, being a frugaleer is working well for you.
We were at a festival yesterday & I had planned to do shopping at aldi also, then dh joined us, we went for cake at a vintage tearooms as it poured rain, and spent more time outside afterwards so never got to aldi so 2 €10 vouchers gone to waste or €2 on the papers rather, make me feel better about it Hmm

Think we will avoid a full weekly shop this week as we're going to circus tomo eve & have a full house so will get the bargain bucket chicken dinner from takeaway Tues, I'll do something in slow cooker Wed maybe Taco Mince, and we're away then until Saturday. Will just get a few essentials top up type shop instead. I've leftovers for lunch today, love getting another meal out of a dinner Grin

Circus tickets were €11 less than expected which was nice

Have gone back a couple of pages & am still trying to figure out why ye are talking about nappy bags & S.T....anyone care to enlighten me?

collie have you got a receipt for the mattress, might be worth checking out even if it only got you a discount on your next purchase?

northender · 17/08/2015 10:12

Bonjour from France! 5 days to go here, mixed weather but today is glorious and good forecast for the week ahead.

The dc just want beach, pool, tennis (6 euros) etc so very cheap, simple pleasures hence the holiday budget is comfortably under (more money for the driveway fund!) haven't read the thread back just wanted to post to keep myself in check Smile. Hope everyone's okay and having a good summer. Will check back in properly on Friday

fuzzpig · 17/08/2015 11:35

Woohoo, got another piano pupil! So excited! And not just because of the money - I have really enjoyed teaching, I knew I would like doing it again but it's actually surprised me how much :)

I'm also expecting a recorded delivery of the rest of the manuscript of the book I'm typing up/proof reading - the author says she's put a cheque in with it but I have a bad feeling she might've put the wrong name (my own fault, mind!) - my bank account is still under my maiden name, but since marriage we use a double-barrelled name i.e. DHname-myname - do you think they'd let me pay it in with some ID like wedding certificate etc? Confused (It's not a big deal if not, I wasn't actually expecting more money yet anyway but she insisted! Blush)
