Collie, would you consider a spin dryer? clothes come out much dryer so they'd need less tumbling. It's the size of a kitchen bin and light enough to put in a cupboard.

Our old electric monitor alerted me to the immersion heater coming on because the builders left it and it heats twice a day. No wonder out water was always piping hot.

Pointless we have the Asia slow cooker too. It must be 8 years old by now.

Determined to have a nsd today.

oooh fluffy someone mentioned led bulbs GrinGrinGrin

I love my slow cooker and use it all year round, I even use it if I make something that needs simmering for 20/30 mins when I'm at home for the day just transfer from pan to slow cooker and leave on for a couple of hours, seems to make it extra tasty. My usuals are spag bol, beef stew, sausage stew, chicken curry, roast beef and joint of ham. Actually have made the porridge in it a few times and that's amazing so so creamy!

I've discovered that the fault with my 'new' refurbished phone is only that the charging cable is faulty so waiting for a new one from them & hoping for a freebie also for the inconvenience!!

Au pair's car is giving trouble so we're looking at €€€'s there I'd say Sad

This week is an expensive week, had trip to Dublin Tues for ds so extra diesel but only ate out for lunch, last weekend's grocery shop was very expensive so going to go through the presses and try make this week's shop very small to balance it out. It did include washing powder and the like plus my mother was staying a couple of nights also. Getting my hair done on Sat too - blonde is costly but I love it and get so many compliments on how it suits me better - rarely go out, rarely drink, don't smoke so my hair and my phone are my main luxuries in life! Smile

£250
Grin Grin Grin

I used which? For looking at new cars, it was fantasic. I now have a Skoda estate, £0 road tax, surposed to do 73mpg but it's now where near, only 50/60mpg. Grin

I'm off to Pennywell farm!

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/07/2015 08:48

I like led hut.co.uk because you get cash back and discount codes. Why won't they open a domestic tariff? email the ceo, you don't want to pay them too much.

Surely the regulator wouldn't let them get away with that?.

Should be a nsd. I'm going to see my nan and grandad this morning. Dinner will be cauliflower and macaroni cheese. Not sure about lunch we appear to be lacking, will probably be chocolate Grin

girliefriend · 16/07/2015 09:12

Think I have been there Evil! Is the one near Southampton? Have fun, dd loved it Grin

Feeling bit better today although washed out, been reading the thread about vitamin D and have convinced myself I have low levels!! Might try and get the drs to check tomos.

Need to get my nephew a bday card today, he is 12 and the stash of cards i have aren't really cool enough for a 12 year old boy!! Am going to give him £15 cash and some sweets I think as no idea what he would like.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2015 09:31

Girlie I'm vitamin d deficient (or at least I was) feel much better since starting calcichew.

starfish4 · 16/07/2015 09:58

I've been going through DD's school clothes and can't believe all I'll have to buy are tights and school shoes. The only problem with that it that next year everything will need replacing and it'll be her last year. She's going to need some new underwear and nightwear soon though, and no doubt she'll convince me she really needs something new when she sees it in the shops!

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2015 12:12

I got dd's letter from the school nurse today re her height and weight. They've put down she's on 79th percentile but she's actually 25th for height and 9th for weight Confused

I've decided I'm got to phone car insurance and play dumb that I haven't done any other quotes and see if they'll reduce it for me Grin or maybe give me some m&s vouchers as inventive to stay Grin

babsmam · 16/07/2015 12:19

Just spent £2 on a bacon sandwich for lunch as dc ate my lunch for their breakfast .

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2015 12:36

girliefriend · 16/07/2015 14:50

Been into town always a bad idea money wise!

Spends £2.90 parking
£33 on my step mothers 60th bday present, wouldn't normally spend this much on her but she is having a big party and it is her 60th!! Got her some lovely matching ear rings and a necklace.
£2.30 ish in card warehouse on 2 bday cards.
£7.98 on 2 t.shirts for dd in Mountain Warehouse, they were in the sale for £3.99 each (down from £9.99) and I have bought the next size up so should hopefully last a couple of years.

Erm think thats it, my mum kindly bought me some lunch and a cup of tea plus some massive strawberries to eat with dd later!!

yogababymum · 16/07/2015 14:57

Hi, was planning a NSD then my friend texted me to say that Newlook have a huge sale on.. All their boots are only £5.

I went straight their & got myself & DD a pair each! That's winter covered for us. I always but cheap boots (never more than £15) they usually do me all year or longer. So delighted with that bargin.

northender · 16/07/2015 15:01

Yy to LEDs and a spin dryer! We had an electricity usage monitor which highlighted how much our kitchen and bathroom spotlights were costing. We switched and haven't looked back. Spin dryer bought on fluffy's recommendation and it's brilliant. Our direct debit is down to £79 a month (elec & Gas) from £97 Smile

Got some stuff I've been thinking of selling that I'll put on FB, and I'm also going to pay in my deposit cheque from the lady who is paying me to type up her book (I'd planned on waiting til I'd done a few more hours, but needs must)

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/07/2015 15:36

£12 on a new duvet cover in the JL sale Blush we really need a new one though.

northender · 16/07/2015 15:52

The usage monitor was a freebie from the supplier, not sure which one though, possibly Scottish power when we were with them. We were the same, we'd had the kitchen & bathroom done and builders put halogens everywhere

lilacclery · 16/07/2015 16:58

I spent £2.50 on two carseat clips to stop ds getting his arms out from our carseats, this included free postage & will greatly help my sanity and make journeys faster and less stressful as I'm constantly pulling over to put him back into the seat properly.

OT but He doesn't sleep in & hasn't slept much in his 20 months - yesterday he slept from 4.30pm to 6.30am this morning and he's not sick SmileGrinSmile
