£85 on parking and insurance for hols.

However returned some kids clothes I'd ordered so that should be a £35 refund and have changed pet insurance, saving £10 pm. GrinGrin

Back from another weekend away competing with DD and pony. They were 2nd in the final, and had a 'run off' for 1st place, so just missed out on winning, DD pissed off now but will realise how well they did when the disappointment leaves her.

So wasn't too spendy a weekend, apart from topping up the horse box with £100 of diesel (budgeted). Maybe spent a fiver on coffee and some water.

Today I have spent £20 on the cleaner and £17 on pony feed and some plants.

Need to meal plan for the week.

CremeEggThief · 01/06/2015 16:13

NSD.

Passthecake30 · 01/06/2015 16:29

Just spent £23 on a scholl automatic foot thingy as my feet are embarrassing, I am very excited about it! Dp said he could save money by using his electric plane.....

First day at my new job tomorrow Grin. Had unpaid leave today but worked out ok as I got away with not paying £23 childcare so a bit saved at least.

Added up supermarket spends and it came to about £400 in May. Absolutely ridiculous given that I don't feel like we had anything fancy at all!

girliefriend · 01/06/2015 17:02

Thanks for the tip and thread name change helen Smile

Back to work and school for me and dd today, got my milage and unsocial hours in which will hopefully pay for the car tax at the end of June, then its only MOT and service to worry about in July.

Also volunteered to work some overtime this week as am seriously skint at the mo.

NSD apart from £1.20 parking for work which I can claim back.

Laska42 · 01/06/2015 18:41

Good frugal use of a thread!

£2 on birthday card for DS (he's 25 tomorrow! Shock

Its Direct debit day for me today (and tomorrow) but i tend not to 'think' of that as spending as is all in my budget anyway and theres no avoiding it..

Came home from work this arvo with migraine Sad , think its a combination of v busy weekend, lack of sleep and changable weather ..

You are all so young! ( am 58 this year..)..

I also want to know just how much I can lose in 7 days babsmam i have 3 weeks until ill be needing to wear my bikini.. and have a stone+ to lose! Have started my low carb diet in earnest (a tad too late of course) today ..

Ah well, ive noticed that i lots of larger Greek ladies ( and some very large indeed) just strip off on the beacjh and no one gives a damn.. its just that last year I was 10st , and now im a stone heavier poo

SpottyTeacakes · 01/06/2015 18:45

It's my birthday in two weeks and I'll be 28. I still feel 18 though! My dad says he still feels 18 too though Grin

needastrongone · 01/06/2015 18:57

laska I am 43, so don't worry! Hope you feel better soon.

collie The tests sound horrible. Hope you feel better soon.

fluffy Always one away from the win Smile

I have just done a meal plan for the week

Tuesday - roasted veg and salmon
Wednesday - chunky vegetable soup
Thursday - fritatta and potato wedges
Friday - nachos and chilli
Sunday - Roast chicken.

Morrisons have sent me some vouchers, spend £80, get £8 off. They don't get it do they that folk don't always have that much to spend in a week. If they wanted to compete with Aldi, how about £4 off a £40 shop?

bantamgirl · 01/06/2015 19:22

needa - I get sent £5 off a £60 spend vouchers from Morrisons. I try to only spend between £40-£50 online normally. However Tesco won my business last week as they sent me a £15 off a £60 shop so it was a no brainer.

sssh I'm 40 sometime this month and I'm feeling very down and sorry for myself about it. Having been battling with my weight for 18 years I was determined that I'd be fit and 40, and instead I'm only about half a stone less than the heaviest I have ever weighed so I feel such a failure. I also hate my hair (which I had cut a few weeks ago) and I'm refusing to even mark by birthday. I'm not mentioning it at work so I can pass it by and I'm going to deactivate my facebook for a couple of days either side in the hope that my family can't write on my wall thus alerting people to my depressing milestone birthday. So, I think I'll continue to be 39 this year, and then jump straight to 41 next year :-D

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/06/2015 19:23

Have you noticed the Aldi £5 vouchers gone though? it's been going for years.

I've been behind people in the checkout at Morrisons spending more than £80. I was Shock. It wasn't a massive shop either. The morrisons is literally next door to an Aldi and down the road from Lidl but it's still packed.

You could always stock up on champagne or spirits for Christmas if you can use them on booze.

Low carbing works for me really well, except tonight when dinner has been 5 fish fingers and a pack of bourbon biscuits.

Pointlessfan · 01/06/2015 19:23

Hope you are feeling ok Collie.
I also like the frugal use of the thread!
NSD so far but I can feel the internet pulling me towards buying something. I've seen a denim dress I like and as I have hardly any summer clothes after spending the last 2 summers in maternity clothes then breastfeeding I might treat myself. I am of course assuming that we might have some summer weather at some point.
My mum has emailed me some photos she took of DD in the park last week. There is a gorgeous one of her with DH so I'm going on Moonpig to make it into a father's day card. I might also get a print done for his mum and one for my desk at work.

ItalianWiking84 · 01/06/2015 19:26

blueteapot · 01/06/2015 20:18

I have bitten the bullet and asked a gardener to come price taming the jungle, he's coming on Thurs. Anybody use one? Pricey? Worth it? I'm loathed to spend the money on it when we could do it ourselves but it's too big and we never have the time. Grass in the top bit of the back garden is knee high Blush

also loving the frugal use of the thread!

SpottyTeacakes · 01/06/2015 20:27

How big is your garden blue?! I don't blame you really dh has to mow ours at least twice a week and it's such a bore especially when it takes an hour each time.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 01/06/2015 20:39

I tried joining one of these threads a while ago but was rubbish at sticking to it. but ive decided I want to be debt free in 2 years unlikely to happen but I have a proper plan in place so going to try to save every penny where I can! I have budgeted £65 (stretch to £80) per week for food/activities/clubs etc.

my weaknesses are amazon 'bargains' , charity shops and car boots. im an impulse buyer and hate going out then coming home empty handed (ridiculous I know) I am much better than I was but still have days where I fail miserably! !

today I have spent the following:

co-op - £6.94 bread, milk x2, butter, strawberries, cat food tins x2.
charity shop £1 monsoon party dress dd1 for upcoming bday and peppa sleep suit dd2 (bogof)
factory shop £2.50 card and felt tips to make story sack props for an upcoming job interview Smile

blueteapot · 01/06/2015 20:46

No idea in terms of feet but we have a bit at the front the width of the house and about 10 feet to the footpath (semi detached bungalow with attic conversion), but the back has the original garden which is half paved and the other half grass (length of the garage and about two thirds width of the house) with a load of unruly hedges at one side, two big sloping flower beds up the sides of some steps up to the top bit which was once a green belt but gifted to the street by the council in the 90s so there's rubbishy grass about 20x20 feet and a huge overgrown hedge. And 3 trees to fell. Hmm. When I write it all out it sounds like it's gonna be pricey :/
