I've chicken marylands out for everyone not trying to lose weight going to serve with wedges & stir fry veg. I'll probably have a homemade version of the Maryland with low fat skinny garlic cheese chips. Agree spotty it's that type of a day!

AuditAngel · 31/05/2015 11:24

€24 buying a pack of rolls, cheese and ham to make sandwiches for the journey home tomorrow, plus a big multipack of crisps (more expensive than a big bag, but safer with DC!). Also some croissants for breakfast.

Will probably buy a little diesel for journey home (say €10) then fill up at Folkestone (I can only reclaim what I buy in the UK)

About to do a Tesco order for home tomorrow.

40 on diesel, 41 In matalan. If you download the app there is an extra 10 % off in store for one week after downloading. Comes off the cardholders offers too.

bantamgirl · 31/05/2015 13:08

Hope all goes well tomorrow for you Collie

girliefriend · 31/05/2015 13:38

Thanks MissA that sounds delicious, my mum does this honey roast carrot thing thinking about it which is probably similar. I forget you can roast carrots!

Hope tomos goes well Collie and they find out what is causing the problems.

I had a chat with my cousin this week who has recently gone gluten free, reckons it has made him feel so much better and that I should give it a go. I don't think I could afraid to do it tbh but would be nice to have more energy and less stomach trouble.

Have had very lazy morning and am just about to make a banana cake with dd, weather is rubbish so don't think we will be going far today.

ItalianWiking84 · 31/05/2015 14:36

Celebrated dd s birthday this morning so 17£ on bread and cakes from the baker. Now have 1,5 cake left and 4 bags with bread in the freezer Cake

Pointlessfan · 31/05/2015 15:47

Hope it goes well tomorrow. Collie.
I've had a mixed day frugal-wise. Frugal fail - went to get my free coffee with my garden centre card and realised after I'd ordered it that I'd already used up the freebies for this month so ended up paying for it and the cake DH talked me into getting.
Frugal success - found some apples lurking in the fridge, the use by on the bag was in Feb! They were absolutely fine though. Chopped them up and stewed them. Used some to make apple and sweet potato muffins and froze the rest for a future pie or crumble.
Does anyone have a good recipe for some sort of veg/egg fried rice please? I don't really like eggs very much but DD does and I think it would be a good quick dinner for her.
Not looking forward to returning to school tomorrow after half term. I have lots of marking I should be getting on with!

Peppapissinpig · 31/05/2015 15:50

£14.40 on swimming with DCs and a friend. worth it even though it was human soup!

SpottyTeacakes · 31/05/2015 15:58

Dd has an inset day tomorrow, I'm dreading back to school too. Not long until the summer holidays though!

farmlass · 31/05/2015 16:05

Thank you frugalness.reading this thread I decided to do something about our credit card.managedd to get it all onto 0percent for 2 years . Weight lifted feel amazing

girliefriend · 31/05/2015 16:24

Eugh to human soup Peppa Grin

Banana cake looks delish, have had such a lazy day - it's been great!

Back to work and school tomorrow Sad

northender · 31/05/2015 16:26

Well done farmlass, good luck for tomorrow collie

Adora when do you move or has it already happened?

More frugality here today, ds' cricket was called off so dh and I have been sorting and tidying which feels really good so no spending. Ds back to school tomorrow but dd has another week off. I've got 3 days off work with her so we're planning lots of low cost ativities, baking, making ice lollies, cycling, trying to work the microscope she got for Christmas(!) etc etc. The kids do really love some downtime at home as life is often so hectic with activities and clubs.

We had free laughs together this afternoon looking through cards, pictures, diaries etc that the dc did when they were younger. Have put it all in a plastic crate so that they (and we) can look through them when they want a smile!

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/05/2015 16:35

Collie after invasive tests you'll probably just want to go home. The stress always wipes me out. Good luck. I hope it's something simple.

Girlie, I low carb so no bread and can confirm no bloating. No more energy than I had before either though.

farmlass Well done. I remember the feeling of despair credit cards gave me.

£15 on plumbing stuff but the pop up plug works now.
£3 on a usb stick off ebay to put music on for the car.

Laska42 · 31/05/2015 16:44

Human soup.. bleugh! ill stick to lentil I think..

DGS dropped back and im exhausted! Hats of to all you parents of two year olds.. I'd forgotten how non-stop they are! But we had great fun and luckily as yesterday was so lovely here we wore him out inthe garden and on the beach.. and ourselves too

Well i dont think my weekend was very frugal , as I spent £156 in Sainsburys, but that was the 'big' shop with everything id run out of over the last month ,wine and cleaning stuff plus some bits and pieces that DGS likes to eat and drink I wouldnt normaly get and a few garden pots and things in their garden promotion.. ( and why are plant pot saucers so expensive huh?).

Sadly i realised Im not getting my election payment this month either(n misread the letter - its end June) , but have budgetted £100 to savings ... its DS birthday this week and although he has also had the bike , ill will be giving him £50 and taking him out for a curry. Another big expense will be the 'cat and garden' sitting when we go off for our hols later this month.. (only 3 weeks to lose a stone! -ok its not going to happen! - but im going to go low carb for the next 3 weeks and see if I can at least get some off..

NK5BM3 · 31/05/2015 17:39

Thanks everyone! Collie - good luck with the invasive investigations. Hope it's ok. I've had colonoscopies done before (twice) because my mother died at 50 of colon cancer (too early apparently)... Fun, not; but necessary.

Dh went out and bought some cheese. £5.

Peppapissinpig · 31/05/2015 17:40

Laksa -thanks for ynab advice.

I was helping out with elections as a poll clerk and was also wondering when we get paid?? Gone are the good old days of cheque on the day but would have thought it would be in bank by now (got pay slip on Friday but no mention of pay due date). Is it really one of June?

babsmam · 31/05/2015 18:02

No more spends today. Didn't go for lunch as dd too tired. Got out new playmobil unopened from Christmas.

June tomorrow, spendy month. Dh birthday and my birthday and dbro. Going to the good food show too and have saved about £100. Anyone got any tips?

Laska42 · 31/05/2015 18:02

peppa youll need to check with your council elections team, sadly we wotnt get paid until 30 june here -supposedly because payroll couldnt process it in time for this month - Grr (ah well ill be away then so it will be in bank when i get back from holsand i was only going to put in savings anyway)
I keep trying to build up enough so i can live off next months income, but 'Life' keeps happening round here!! not helped by my DS being unemployed

SpottyTeacakes · 31/05/2015 18:16

June is speedy for us too Shock

Peppapissinpig · 31/05/2015 18:37

DS birthday & party
DH birthday
fathers day

SpottyTeacakes · 31/05/2015 18:39

It's Fil's birthday too but he lives in New Zealand so we will just FaceTime! Wink

babsmam · 31/05/2015 19:43

Bugger forgot about father's day. Is that the 21st in the UK?

SpottyTeacakes · 31/05/2015 19:46

Think so babs. Luckily dh is sorted for Father's Day as last year I started a 'we love daddy' scrap book. There's photos of him with the dc and a message from each of them. Last year was a scribble from ds and a drawing and quote from dd. this year dd will be able to write her own message and hopefully I'll manage a quote from ds!

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/05/2015 20:01

Thats a really lovely thing to do Spotty.
