Hi all. I was stunned that yesterday's taxi from airport to hotel was €120! Today a 10 minute ride to office was €17.19 and back again was €15 Shock

Although I have spent money on dinner and taxi's all can be reclaimed.

Had a message to say flight home cancelled, now on flight 2.5 hours earlier.

Sightseeing is looking unlikely.

pointless Mixed emotions eh? Smile

laska fingers crossed that you won't hear any more.

peonies Thanks for the additional ideas for the Nutribullet. Obsessed, me? No!! This morning - plum, banana, soya milk, celery and cucumber. That was a lovely concoction actually. Looking forward to trying the extras though.

spotty The website you linked has some lovely recipes, the sesame chicken looks yum.

Aldi later - I will post spends. Idea is I get as much as I can from there, then my Morrisons delivery will be small and cheap.

Eventful night at training yesterday. I took DD and her friend. DD is an experienced rider and has worked hard with our pony, she's gone from refusing every jump going to popping them for fun. So she had a great time. Sadly, DD's friend had a fall right at the start and a trip to A&E ensued. Broken thumb Sad Their pony stood on my big toe and I am hobbling around like an idiot today, possibly in A&E myself, but I suspect bad bruising tbh.

girliefriend · 19/05/2015 08:52

Oh no needa hope you are o.kay, the down side of horse riding!!

I have woken up this morning to find that someone has overnight smashed one of my flower pots (a biggish one) all over the road Angry so annoying, makes me very angry that some little git has even touched my stuff!! Debating whether to report it to the police, seems a bit ott given that it is probably only worth £20 max but its the principle of the matter!!

Am waiting in now for someone to come and fix the hot water, can't come soon enough I was boiling the kettle and pots of the hob this morning just to have a wash!!

Arrgh! My temp contract has now been put on hold due to budget renegotiations so I now have to find somehow that 2 days work per week wage from somewhere. Luckily they've found me some exam invigilating for this afternoon and I'm trying to get more freelance stuff but it's going to be a bit tricky...

Just when we had told FIL to save us the flat for holiday in September. Still September is a long way. I guess I just have to freelance my ass off Grin!

Still on balance have had a few NSDs and today will be one too.

Laska42 · 19/05/2015 12:09

Ive taken the day off today and at home today waiting for a delivery (battery for the lawnmower paid for by Dh ) and have gone through the freezer.
We have plenty in , so on Sunday when folks here ill either do that chicken pie or if weather is nice we have enough in 'bits and pieces' , (sausages, pork belly , pork mince) to rustle up a decent barbeque for them.. we can make foccacia and so that means ill only have to buy veg..

Also gone through budget again (love YNAB) and transferred money out of my savings to pay CC now and give me £75 to last the next 10 days. Do-able!!

Does anyone else have a reluctance to spent the money in savings account? . I mean it is for when things get tight isnt it? but i get a bit reluctant to touch it at all and doing this has put it down to £108 Anyway, this now means ill have my £210 election pay to put back in at end of month as well as (as long as I dont spend more than the £75) another £200 when i get paid.

Its raining here so that has put paid to any gardening , so think ill look out some things to ebay .. I have three summer maxi dresses (boden and fat face) which i think can go.. a couple of other summer dresses and skirts (boden) and some nice office and moshulu sandals (virtually unworn, just not right for me) which i hope will get a good price .. Do you think its too early for summer stuff on ebay?

collie it just takes practice. I thought I'd be bad because my co ordination is poor but I'm a good & competent driver

lilacclery · 19/05/2015 14:28

Thanks to whoever recommended I still do coin sweeping despite having debt. My balance was 2.97 at end of April now have 12.98 that's €10 I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/05/2015 15:24

I thinks it's always a good time to eBay boden, it goes really well.

Sporting that's is bad luck but it will spur you on.

Collie autos make learning much easier. Keep at it, it's worth persevering with. Do you qualify for a motability car?. Everyone has lessons where you feel like your just not getting it.

Girlie that's horrible, it's not the cost it's the effort you put into making the place look nice. Dh drilled through our pots and screwed them into the slabs with some sort of bolt because I was convinced someone would damage them.

£10 petrol.

needastrongone · 19/05/2015 15:30

Note to self to Ebay some Boden stuff.

girlie That's senseless, pointless and pathetic and I am angry on your behalf. 'Little' things like that really piss me right off.

collie driving with an automatic is much easier, so that's good. A Sat Nav can take away stress too. If you live rurally, there will be a lot less traffic. It is honestly practice. The more you drive, the more confident you get. I never thought I would be up to driving a horse box.

£20 cleaner.
£45 Aldi, I got tons and tons of stuff, will reduce my Morrisons shop right down to £50. That's for essentially 4 adults. Lots of toiletries included there, included toothbrushes, which we all badly need. And El Paso deals, as we all love these.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 19/05/2015 16:26

NSD - I'd be really upset about that too girlie.

Accidentally defrosted a pot of beef bolognase and lamb meatballs (meant to do 2 bol!) ah well, both in tomato sauce so shoved them together.

It's currently hailing and sunny at the same time!

babsmam · 19/05/2015 16:41

The sainsbury 25% off is on as my £160 spend will attest to. Some of that will go back as got multiple sizes.
Love the dress. What's monsoon sizes like?
Is it aldi Thursday this week although after last months poor show not holding out much hope.
£17 cheque for new drivers license

Laska42 · 19/05/2015 16:48

I'd be really annoyed too girlie. I also get annoyed when people pick flowers from people gardens and strew them all over the road.. Its just ridiculous and pathetic.

Well, going through the freezer was an ace idea. As well as the meat I found stashed away there were quite a few single bits of fish from packets , so that will be a fish pie over the weekend ..

Also found some stock frozen in cubes (from magic chickens!) a bag of frozen cherry tomatoes, a half pack of pancetta and a few ends of parmesan. There were three carrots and a head of celery and half a pack of milano salami languishing in the fridge from last week . So with the last couple of onions, the last potato, some garlic, a (bashed, reduced ) tin of bortolotti beans out of the cupboard, tom puree, some garden herbs and basil stalks and leaves from a plant that gone a bit leggy . I've just made a really fab minestrone soup Grin.

Ive also recued some cornbread dough out of the freezer and added a little more SR flour and plan yoghurt to it so i can make make flat breads later.

so a NSD and fab food fron left overs! Grin

I need to iron those Boden things .. (hate ironing..) but yes will put them up on ebay at the weekend then ..

Babs do you mean my dress? . sadly its pretty much out of stock , and ive had to ring around shops to find one.. but there do seem to be a few small sizes left in the shops (and some 18s upwards)

I often find Monsoon can be quite changeable on sizes , but as im quite big busted (36D) ive had to go up to a 16 on this one.. Shock. I usually go for 12 or 14 depending on the make , the 12 was tiny on me but although the 14 fitted it was not loose enough for a sun dress i thought .. as its a flowing style it being a 16 doesnt seem to make any difference in the skirt

I want to wear it on holiday in Greece next month and it (hopefully ) will be hot

Laska42 · 19/05/2015 17:04

.. oh I also chopped up the yellow and green pepper out of a reduced pack of three I got yesterday..Should go down well.. We love 'Mr' Stronie soup!

Passthecake30 · 19/05/2015 17:46

£1.29 on a subway bacon sarnie

Told boss about me leaving, he took it well, said he understood, said I could go at the end of next week and when I apologised he said no need. It's all business with him.

Woo hoo. 6 more days of the trainGrin

Think I need new work clothes but I can't find anything that fits in the shopsSad

girliefriend · 19/05/2015 18:09

Thanks frugal pals Smile its been a bit of a rubbish day all round really, man never turned up to fix the hot water so swapped my shift for no reason Angry and have to go to my mums for a shower tonight! The council say someone will come on Thursday morning now....

Dd had a run in with an old adversary at school so she is fed up as well!!

My flower pot is still in bits at the side of the road, can't bring myself to start cleaning it up yet although I have rescued a few bulbs. Honestly what sort of people drive around in the middle of the night trashing other peoples stuff Confused Angry they need to get an effing life!!!

On the plus side another NSD Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 19/05/2015 18:11

That's awful girlie! There were incidents near ish to me recently where three twats were driving around at night shooting people's car windows in. Over 150 reported over a few nights Angry

Nsd.

babsmam · 19/05/2015 18:32

Yes Laska your dress. Ah well that's me saved £59!
Girlie sorry about your pots. That's annoying

Laska42 · 19/05/2015 18:47

Pointlessfan · 19/05/2015 20:16

Girlie that's awful, some people really don't have enough to think about!
Need it might be worth a trip to A&E, I've broken a number of toes by being trampled under hoof!
Just spent £25 on a top-up shop in Sainsburys - cat food mainly but also got a summer sleeping bag for DD as they had 25% off. Also £14 for books from the Book People at work - two for DD the rest are birthday pressies for other children we know.
Most excitingly my lovely mum offered to take us all away in the summer and she is going to pay so I've just booked a lovely cottage on the Gower in August! So excited! Didn't think we'd be able to afford more than a few days camping this year.
Have man coming round to do a few jobs on Saturday which will be over a hundred quid so really need to try not to spend any more this week. Feel like I'm getting a cold anyway so I've stocked up on tissues but probably won't want to go anywhere or do anything for a few days.
