Hi all, we are back from our holidays!!

Have you missed me? Grin

Had a lovely time despite the great British weather Hmm got back about half an hour ago and now have a mountain of washing to work through (cup of Brew and mn first though Wink)

I took £80 spending money and spent it all, not sure what on really but went swimming every day, daily teas and hot chocolates, the arcades, ice creams and dinner out twice probably had something to do with it!!

Oh well back on the frugal band wagon now.

CaptainSubtext · 03/04/2015 15:26

Welcome back girlie! Glad you enjoyed it! Actually sounds like you got a lot for your £80 :)

HMMMPH I'm grumpy. We agreed to go to Pizza Hut today for DSDs' birthday. I specifically checked with the restaurant to ask if the weekday buffet was on, as being Good Friday I wasn't sure. I was emphatically told it was on as usual.

It wasn't on. Hmm

ememem84 · 03/04/2015 15:30

Have spent this morning clearing out te kitchen. Have sorted 2 boxes of stuff for car boot sale/eBay.

Next stop wardrobe.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/04/2015 15:49

Girlie you got loads for your £80. I'm glad you had a good time. Did the cat miss you?.

Audit Shock Angry Id say something, otherwise you've got YEARS of this behaviour ahead of you. There's no point you trying to reign spending in if he does things like that. Unless you're happy for him to do it.

NSD.

Laska42 · 03/04/2015 16:11

£120 at sainsburys. But that included a lot of stuff from the clothing area, including 2 pairs of summer sandals for the kids, one Anna dress, underpants and socks for dh, and a pair of leggings and a pair of yoga pants for me, and school trousers for ds.

Making hot cross buns now....

babygiraffe86 · 03/04/2015 17:10

£7 spend on chippy tea - 2 small fish and 1 portion of chips! Dp paid so technically free :-)

Sorted the spare room and found a sky box, had a look on eBay and people pay up to £50ish for them - so that's been photographed and put on. Even £20 will help at the minute.

girliefriend · 03/04/2015 17:24

Aw thanks guys, we only went Mon to Fri so not a full week so was thinking £20 a day spending money was quite a bit really considering took most of the food with us. Glad you think I did well though!! Was a shame the weather wasn't that great but there was plenty to do on site with the swimming pool and kids clubs etc. Need to start saving for the London trip next and decide what to do/ where to go for my two weeks annual leave in the summer hols Grin

Puss cats are very pleased to see us Fluffy (although they are hiding it well by ignoring us and sleeping on my bed Wink) Did I see somewhere that one of your cats have been poorly?

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/04/2015 17:42

Yes, fluffy cat came home unable to weight bear properly and screeching in pain when touched, rushed to vet where he walked normally and let himself be picked up by the vet.

Got home and he limped again and couldn't be picked up. The vet must think I have munchhausens by proxy Blush.

Cats eh?.

£50 for sky boxes? Blimey, we took our last one to the tip! Bet the tip men had that away.

babygiraffe86 · 03/04/2015 17:56

I was amazed by the sky box thing, if it doesnt sell then it's not an issue to me but if it does its a huge bonus :-)
Dp said probably as sky only offer 12 month warranties and after that charge for a call our or a new box and a call out is £75 so probs cheaper to get a new box!
hope puss is ok soon -they're blooming nuisances aren't they, one of ours I'm sure just selectively throws up one every few weeks - usually behind a curtain or somewhere as hidden :-(

bantamgirl · 03/04/2015 18:47

OOoft - I've got a Sky box in my cupboard (we're on Virgin) that I kept hold of "just in case" !

babygiraffe86 · 03/04/2015 18:58

Haha bantam that's exactly why we kept ours - yet have been with virgin for a year?!
I love the hoarding Logic.

Iamnotanugget · 03/04/2015 20:07

pass I'll happily use your voucher please if you're sure you don't want it. There's a sale on, have you had a look?

£2 on ice cream for dc, so not a bad start to the holidays. I've got something planned for most days and I'm aiming for £50 spending across the 2 weeks. Tesco delivered today, £42, leaving me £15 in my grocery envelope but it's payday on Friday so I'm pleased.

I really need some new clothes. I ordered 3 tops but sent 2 back. I really need to lose weight and discover what my style is, I'm feeling 'lost'. 7 years of comfortable jeans and saggy t-shirts aka my mum wear has made me forget how to dress. Anyone got any tips?

Hope fluffy cat is okay.

Iamnotanugget · 03/04/2015 20:08

Sorry about that. I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. I probably need to start another thread somewhere.

Pointlessfan · 03/04/2015 20:30

Don't apologise Iamnota is feel the same about my clothes. I chucked out a lot and now I only buy things that fit well and go with existing items. The lovely ladies over at Style and Beauty will be able to help.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/04/2015 20:34

Oh dear Iam, it's not easy is it? I think debenhams do personal shopping. Maybe John Lewis too. You don't have to buy what they suggest but you'll probably want to.

I'm watching loads of stuff on eBay, designer stuff goes so cheaply. I got bra interventioned last year on style and beauty and it helps.

I still fit in clothes from years ago but worry someone will say I'm mutton dressed as lamb.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/04/2015 22:11

Ffs Dh has paid £38 using my paypal Hmm

He has his own account too. Honestly Hmm

Passthecake30 · 03/04/2015 23:22

iamnota I will pm you. I did try and spend it, I promise!

£22 burger king on route to my mums. It was so good. ...!

Passthecake30 · 03/04/2015 23:37

iamnota let me know if my pm didn't come through, I'm in the back of beyond!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/04/2015 05:41

Eugh I haven't slept well at all.

Yesterday £48 filling up with petrol
£20 takeaway

Today we're going to the cinema which was £47 for all six of us I paid the other day using £25 easter money towards it. Then we are going out to lunch at giraffe.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/04/2015 07:11

I've lost my voice AngrySad

babsmam · 04/04/2015 07:27

Oh no spotty hope you feel better soon.

Iama sorry you feel like that. Not sure what to suggest but I echo the sb board.

46£ on diesel yesterday. 6 hours drive today. Longer with stops

Pointlessfan · 04/04/2015 08:17

Hope you feel better soon spotty. I sympathise as I have tonsillitis. Can highly recommend the Jakemans lozenges - 60p for a big bag!

needastrongone · 04/04/2015 08:31

Glad you had a lovely time girlie. I don't think you spent that much really, it's so easy to get through money isn't it?

Hope you feel better soon too spotty. I feel like I have a hangover, but didn't have a drink last night, so think I have something too.

Iam I think I am turning into my mother, but she has never bought many clothes, but the ones she does buy, are really good quality classics and she always looks great. I am trying to buy more Joules etc and less Primark!

Spent some cash yesterday. £5 pony club training. £10 competition fees. And then paid the same for my friend, to cover her petrol costs as she often uses her horse box when we go places 'en mass'.

I have needed to order a top up shop from Morrisons, but this will have to last for a week. Pesky teenagers being at home are eating me out of said home Smile

NK5BM3 · 04/04/2015 09:12

Oh spotty! Get well soon. And yes I'd recommend the sb board for advice. I've purchased items through their recommendations (sheep).

Having a play date this afternoon so won't be spending anything. The hot cross buns didn't turn out too well.... Sigh.
