thanks Adora it has been a bit of a worrying time,

Though TBH i was more worried he'd have to move back in with us (hes 25.. fine and a good lad on the whole , but not the most motivated after becoming unemployed and with another (unsuitable with much older woman) relationship bust up ..)

And being unemployed needs the fact he has to fund himself to give him a kick up A..(which i dont seem to beable to give him efectivelyanymore , IYSWIM) , far too messy to live with (drives Dh round the bend and i feel like im inth emiddle) , and he needs a focus elsewhere rather than being somewhere with all home comforts and unlimited broadband..

Although his new pad has broadband included , but it wont be me fretting about how much time he spends on world of warcraft instead of looking for jobs.. [sigh]

Kids..(and husbands) sometimes I wonder why I ever thought it was a good idea....

NK5BM3 · 26/03/2015 20:47

Another NSD but will be spending lots on weekend on shop and other things. Then off to Europe for work. And lots of tiny purchases for kids under the guise of guilty mummy. Shock

Laska4 · 26/03/2015 20:58

The Boden stuff came and I have to say was really disspointing.. What has happened to their quality (it used to be so good , even though expensive)

So both pairs of the (really thin, cheap-looking , badly cut with garish trimmings ) yoga pants are going back .

I am keeping the leggings as they are fine as basics (though no better IMHO than anywhere else.) .. However with my £10 voucher , they will only cost me £1.20! Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2015 21:34

I ordered tops off Boden a couple of tops 2 years ago and sent them back for the same reason, thin & poor quality. I remember boden from 17 years ago when it was thick cotton.

I think you're doing the right thing with your ds, as worrying as it is for you.

Begged nicely Grin how much in chores is two days easter club worth? Surely a days weeding?.

AuditAngel · 26/03/2015 22:41

Today train fares (no idea, probably £10.20) plus parking £10.20 to reclaim from work.

£23.96 buying 4 pairs of cowboy guns for props, will get £18 back.

Dinner £21.0 for 5 for takeaway.

Tomorrow need to buy DD1 some birthday cards and wrapping paper.

I had a fantastic frugal win today, took DC to dancing, and one if the teachers offered me a second hand uniform coat for nothing. It is in immaculate condition, am going to wrap it and give o DD1 for her birthday tomorrow . I think this is Karma. Cousins have moved to Scotland, they fave me a carrier bag of dancing shoes and 4 uniform T-shirts. I kept the nicest, biggest of the t-shirts for DD2, and then gave the other 3 to friends at dancing. Need to check which shoes do/will fit DD2, then will offer the rest out.

AuditAngel · 26/03/2015 22:43

Fluffy just to save me looking (and making it more likely I will do it) do you have the email address please for the CEO of Yodel?

SpottyTeacakes · 27/03/2015 06:45

Should be nsd today. Had tesco value Indian potato cakes last night and they were really nice.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/03/2015 06:58

[email protected]

Here it is Audit.

needastrongone · 27/03/2015 08:47

Grin at chicken optimism!

captain It's to Amsterdam, for 4 days, for the more able students. DS was born living his life in maths, I would reserve 'gifted' for folk like Einstein, but 'talented', he sure is. They are going to various maths related museums, studying one mathematician in particular (I'll check the name) and generally having maths related fun. Ha, in their eyes anyway!

audit good frugal win.

I am never impressed with Boden any more, for the reasons folk have stated above. Joules still wins my vote though as an alternative?

NK Europe for work, enjoy Smile

Spends today have been £10 on chicken wormer. Then I might be tempted to buy another chicken. I need woodchip, but I have garden centre vouchers from Christmas. Then we are going to race night tonight as a family, for charity, with some friends.

sportinguista · 27/03/2015 10:01

So not too many frugal fails, LSD yesterday around £3 for top up of food and bits for tea. £3 for lunch which can be claimed back. Hopefully will get sign off and paid for some work today which will be £125 to the good and also another job coming in which will be another £125, then got another £150 in PayPal account to draw down. Then paid next weet around £120 so from going from nothing it's starting to turn over steadily.

Nearly complete on my first alcohol free week but the weekend will be the hardest especially watching DH indulge!

Also had an evil 'ha,ha!' moment as saw they still cannot recruit to replace me. They have definitely shot themselves in foot, cannot help feeling a little smug...wanders off to treat herself to some chocolate in celebration. Grin

LaChatte · 27/03/2015 10:10

PAYDAY rhymes with yay!

We were both paid some overtime, which means more possible savings at teh end of the month or a new PC for DH

Income : €4300

Total spending for April = €3500

€2660 = Direct debit/cheques
€460 = groceries
€100 = petrol
€30 = gifts
€50 = me
€50 = DH
€10 = DS
€10 = DD
€100 = family activities
€30 = Easter chocolate

Possible savings €800 , I'm tempted to put €700 away now, just so we don't have a choice IYSWIM. What would everyone else do?

LaChatte · 27/03/2015 10:12

Disclaimer: when I teach English, I am considerably more careful about my spelling/typing Blush

northender · 27/03/2015 10:12

As ever, struggling to keep up with the pace of the thread!

So far this week I've made 2 lasagnes and have enough left over bolognese for a meal for the 4 of us (from 2 pounds of mince). Lamb casserole which is enough for 2 meals.
Spent 55p yesterday on the Mirror and will be going to Aldi with the vouchers today as the cupboards are properly run down now.
Have spent £70 this morning on Brandon Flowers concert tickets but will get the money from ds for his (or it will be his birthday present). Ds is a massive Killers/Brandon Flowers fan so will be very excited. The tickets sold out really quickly as it's small venues so I'm really pleaed to have got face value tickets.
Yesterday resurrected a budget spreadsheet that dh created in 2012 but we haven't used since 2013. Updated it all and have done a plan for the year which will mean we can get the driveway redone this year. It's a job that we've wanted to have done since we bought the house 11 years ago and we both feel we can't go another year without doing it as the front of the house really does look a mess. Obviously buying the concert tickets wasn't a great start to our extra austerity but you've got to have some fun too??!!

LaChatte · 27/03/2015 10:15

Ah sod it, I've put €800 into the savings account. If needs be, I will put some back into the current account.

Iamnotanugget · 27/03/2015 12:39

£28 Tesco delivery but I sent back the substitution milk so will need to go to Sainsbury's AND ONLY BUY MILK. Budget app says I need to stop buying groceries for the next 4 days. I think we can do that.

I was eyeing up a dress from Boden to wear to a couple of weddings but you lot are putting me off! May just order anyway as I've been sent a code for free delivery.

Well done sporting other than during pregnancy and the early weeks of breastfeeding I doubt I've done a week without alcohol since I was 16 18 Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 27/03/2015 14:19

Nsd. Such a shit day at work someone was so horrible I cried Blush I never cry!

PegLegAntoine · 27/03/2015 14:51

Aw you poor thing spotty :( take it easy tonight. I've had people make me cry at work before too. Thanks

CaptainSubtext · 27/03/2015 14:53

(Please ignore name change fail above) Blush

Pass I'm not really sure if I'm underselling myself! I wish I had more confidence :o mind you even £10ph is more than I earn in my (lovely) day job!

LaChatte · 27/03/2015 15:20

Aww Spotty Sad

AdoraBell · 27/03/2015 15:30

Captain I thought my DD had moved on, The Vamps, 5SOS, Pierce The Veil, Black Veiled Bride, but she's regressed just coz a 22 yr old steps of the treadmillConfused

Other than pocket money Today will be an NSD. I was hoping To pick up a rather lush vino this week but the only shop that has it is 50km away, so I'll treat myself next week.

Spotty hope you feel better, it's horrible dealing with the public sometimes.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/03/2015 16:33

Thanks everyone it's completely ruined my day I keep thinking I should have done things differently. She was just a bully but I still stand by what I said/did. If you turn up 12 minutes late for your ten minute NHS appointment (with no appointment and acting completely entitled) I have to get the ok from the Dr before I know if they'll see you or not! Of course if she had immediately been apologetic, flustered, looked like she cared I would have done my very best to ensure she would be seen. As it was the Dr saw her, as I knew he would, but she had to wait thirty minutes. Luckily she entertained herself by making me cry and then came back after the appointment to smugly tell me that he's now her favourite doctor Hmm

LaChatte · 27/03/2015 16:52

Thank fuck it's the weekend.

sportinguista · 27/03/2015 16:54

Oh spotty that's horrible, some people are just bullies sadly and will do anything to get what they want. Have Wine and forget about her, she is not worth your energy.

Making homemade pizza now that all my work is done, 1 job to print another with client for proof and another in to start on Monday. Will bid over the weekend for an additional job to fill out next week.

NK5BM3 · 27/03/2015 17:07

Oh spotty, how mean. I think perhaps you will need to get your manager to put a sign about how your practice has zero tolerance for bullying.

Thank god it's Friday!

Kids are pottering outside with dh planting new seeds, and I've just finished work. I'll be going to get dinner on soon. Little inspiration!

babsmam · 27/03/2015 17:51

She sounds like a right charmer spotty. Witch! ( her not you)

Did the aldi shop as not sure when I will fit it in otherwise. Will have to go again next week. The shop looked like a plague of locusts had hit it. So many stock outs including most of the voucher stuff. Also did lidl and Iceland as they are all in a line. 70 ish in total.
Will need to get meat too as feeding fil next week while Mil is in hospital
