Aww you're teaching him well Grin we've got some snickers and bourbons here so it's not like he's starved Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2015 19:17

LaChatte, do not be embarrassed. These things happen. Welcome to the thread. Have you got green lentils? They make the best soup with black pepper.

lLaska We used to get the times every day but stopped it and we don't miss it. You wouldn't want a kimono if it wasn't for that paper!.

NSD for me. Dh bought me Leffe beer as apology for;

Nearly killing me in a head on collision overtaking two cars on a BEND.
Dragging me on a 120 mile journey to unexpectedly trade one of his guns in.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/03/2015 19:20

Shock Fluffy are you ok?

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2015 19:37

Yeah I'm fine, thank you for asking.

Dh has been bollocked. Several times.

Dh "are you going to go on about this?"
Me "yes. Yes I am. Just be glad the cat wasn't in the car"

Apparently it was the cars fault for not being fast enough. Hmm

It's the first time he's done something so stupid in the 10 years I've been with him.

LaChatte · 07/03/2015 19:40

I have a jar of mixed lentils which I'm hoping to make into soup. I'm pretty sure there are some green ones in there!

bootygirl · 07/03/2015 19:44

Spotty
It's safe to say we would be too lazy to drive for 15-20!

I wish ds1 was as good with money! Still trying to train him. It's hard for him as a lot of his peers at school would have a lot of money. He is a good kid though.
Just hard is nt as they get older?!

bootygirl · 07/03/2015 19:46

Glad your both ok fluffy! You need the beer for medicinal purposes!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2015 19:48

Do you have an ethnic supermarket or aisle in your supermarket? Spices and pulses are very cheap bought in them compared to normal supermarket 500g bags.

I've been looking at jamie oliver recipes online and his stuff is the kind of thing you can make ahead, freeze and bung in a pan on the night you need it.

I'm going to do his meatballs made with cream crackers in the week. If it works I can freeze them raw, defrost the day I need them and throw it all together on the night. Instead of cooking something with "crispy" on the label.

Have you got cheap toiletries shops in France? We have one here called homebargains that sells things very cheaply but still brand names. Eg Mitchum, £3 sainsburys, £1.70 homebargains Shock

CremeEggThief · 07/03/2015 19:49

Eek, fluffyShock!

£18.00 travel and £11.45 lunch out for me and DS. We were out all day, as he had a climbing event for Scouts. The town we visited had a proper, old'-fashioned library, with loads and loads of books and well-spaced comfy chairs AND separate rooms for children's library and reference library. Talk about keeping everyone happy! It really put our main library to shame. It lost about half its books in a 'revamp' last year and they don't do anything about noise levels now; it's no longer pleasant visiting it Sad.

I don't really know, I've never looked! There must be I suppose. I'm really fussy with condition though, has to be Pantene.

girliefriend · 07/03/2015 19:53

Hi all and welcome lachette

So went to a friends engagement party this afternoon, was very nice. Saved money by getting dd to make the card (she got a nice card making kit for her bday) it looked really nice. Also made scones to take with us (they proved very popular!)

Spent £10.50 on a bottle of wine to take, some j2os (were half price) and cream and jam for the scones.

Tomos should be a nsd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2015 19:57

The pound shops do pantene here. I am jealous of french prices on la roche posay though. We pay more for it here.

Shop bought scones taste awful these days, too much bicarb.

girliefriend · 07/03/2015 20:01

I'm always surprised how easy scones are to make, just s//r flour, butter and milk really!! I did half with some cheese and half with a little bit of sugar. Think will make some more for mothers day tea next wend as well, dd can more or less make them independently which is a bonus as well.

Can't believe how much it is to see a dr booty makes me grateful as always to the nhs.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 07/03/2015 20:04

Big supermarket shop... £33.14 Shock tbf, it was aldi and the dinners for the week are all coming out of the freezer. Trying to save as much on food as possible so we can host guests at the end of the month.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 07/03/2015 20:05

Fluffy! Glad you're all okay.

treaclesoda · 07/03/2015 20:19

Expensive day today. Took dd on a day out to a kids event at theatre and for lunch. Theatre tickets had already been paid for but it cost me £10 in train fares and £14 for lunch. Also had to buy a string for my violin which was £10, and a music stand for dd, which was another £10. So not the most frugal of days! Hoping for no spends tomorrow.

bootygirl · 07/03/2015 20:30

Girlie

Yeah it can be anything from €42 to €60 depending on surgery! I thought it might be more as its a sat. It's €100 for casualty! Which is waved if you get a GP referral but that's if you can get to see one! I also dread the dentist!

Anyway fingers crossed rest of us don't get it!

frazzled74 · 07/03/2015 20:34

I am in ,as need to try to save a small amount each month so that we are not completely broke all summer. I have done a £50 aldi shop and a £45 butchers shop today plus bought £2,sack of spuds from morrisons. I have £200 in my bank and £20 in my purse, 2 weeks until payday. I shouldn't need to buy anything during next 2 weeks except milk and bread, and a mothers day present.

girliefriend · 07/03/2015 20:53

Which country are you in booty? Have you got someone who could send you the eyedrops from the U.K? You can buy them OTC for a few quid here.

LadyDeadpool · 07/03/2015 21:00

I know it's a bit late but for future needs you can hey clomitzarol (or however you spell it) tablets for thrush from Amazon 99p each with free delivery. I always have a couple in the cupboard to take at the first familiar itch.

Passthecake30 · 07/03/2015 21:15

Thanks lady, just ordered from Amazon as the groupon thing doesn't work!

£18.70 on a Chinese as I was at a kids party 4-6.30 and why should they have all the fun??!

Today ended up a bit spendy. DH went to the butchers and the shop next door to buy potatoes and biscuits. When he got home he remembered we needed cat food. I was feeling ill by then so requested random items to cheer me up inc the Saturday paper which we have resisted buying for almost a year. Annoyed with myself now, especially as I was sick half an hour ago and feel much better now.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 07/03/2015 21:28

I think it was just a lucky week tbh! Lots in the freezer we hadn't eaten yet.

£70-80 including topups is a bit more normal.

bootygirl · 07/03/2015 21:30

Girlie I live in Ireland. I might be able to get them up north? Dh has free Dr & prescriptions. It was €12 for the antibiotic drops. But it would save us Dr fee!
Thankfully does not happen much. This is only second time he's had it.
