Could cry just back from the vets, my baby girl cats mouth is a mess Sad they have given her a long acting antibiotic and anti inflammatory today and have to go back in a week. If no improvement will need a biopsy, she is only 9 months Sad can't bear the thought of it being something serious.

Cost £75 today, going to run into ££££ if doesn't heal. Have just rung insurance company and praying they will cover it all (other than £65 excess) thank God I added her to my other cats insurance.

As was in Pets at Home also stocked up on cat biscuits (2 bags of Wainwrights for £16) and a few other bits, came to £24 in total. I love my cats but am sure they are out to bankrupt me Wink

My brother has invited me and dd out for a Nandos tonight, have never been before!!

fuzzpig · 17/02/2015 16:23

Oh no girlie :( poor thing. Thanks

Hope you enjoy nandos. I really like it!

girliefriend · 17/02/2015 16:29

Any recommendations on what I should eat?!

Thankyou for the flowers, the weird thing is baby cat is fine in herself, eating and doing all her normal things, vet couldn't believe how well she is considering how sore her mouth should be!!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/02/2015 16:32

Mmm nandos! The avocado salad is delicious. And the piri piri chips, spicy rice, saucy veg, mushy peas, bean burgers (I could go on Wink). We're having fish cakes and mash but I'm in a crappy mood after more bad bloods but no actual answers.

girliefriend · 17/02/2015 16:50

Mmm avocado salad sounds yum, love avocado Grin I am quite excited! Fishcakes and mash sounds lovely as well though Wink

Sorry to hear your results haven't helped give you get some answers.

bantamgirl · 17/02/2015 16:54

Girlie what is up with the cat's mouth? It isn't a rodent ulcer is it? My cat had one of those

girliefriend · 17/02/2015 17:05

Oh really bantam? The vet said it could be one of several things, either she has eaten something which has got stuck in the back of the mouth and become infected, an ulcer linked to an inflammatory condition or a tumour Sad Sad

Praying to god its not the last one, she is my dds kitten who would be completely heart broken if its anything serious, as would I.

What happened with your cat? Is it fine now?

bantamgirl · 17/02/2015 18:00

Girlie She's deceased now - but not due to the ulcer. It was 18 years ago - I'd just had DS and she'd only have been about a year old herself. I think she was given several courses of prednisolone steroid to clear it up - I became a dab hand at forcing them down her neck. It did take a while to clear though

574ejones · 17/02/2015 18:09

Another NSD but have put some things in my Amazon basket but I am trying not to actually check out, so difficult!

God, I love Nandos - I usually have the Butterfly chicken.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/02/2015 18:45

Lets hope it's something non-serious girlie, it's so hard not knowing.

£11 petrol.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 17/02/2015 18:57

£2.20 new deodorant!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 17/02/2015 18:58

Hope cat is okay girlie. Find it so hard when pets are ill, hate not being able to discuss it with them!

Pointlessfan · 17/02/2015 19:03

I hope your cat is ok, girlie.
I spent 84p on milk and a lemon for pancakes and £26 in Next on some clothes for DD, they were needed anyway but on offer currently.

Ememem84 · 17/02/2015 19:04

NSD!!

i've been awol for a couple of days i think.

yesterday was a LSD - £2.99 on a birthday card
tonights frugal dinner...ginger pork sesame meatballs, in lettuce cups with stir fried celery (?) and sticky rice.

yum.

CremeEggThief · 17/02/2015 19:22

Oh sounds awful, Girlie Sad. Sorry to hear that.

What a pain about the food, Adora. I had similar after a holiday years ago, when I was skint, and it actually put me off stocking the freezer for aages, as it was so disheartening, losing all that food at the worst possible time.

Today's spends: £12.70 bus fares for DS and I; £12 cinema ("Shaun the Sheep"Smile); £22.40 lunch, popcorn and fudge; £4.60 on the best ice - creams in the world; £1.30 bottle of water at Richmond castle (free with English Heritage membership) and £11 on 3 tee shirts for DS in Primark, as he only had 2 or 3 left that actually fit him! Total: £64!

babsmam · 17/02/2015 19:44

Would have been a Nsd but a scooter for DS was on offer at 20% off. Got a scooter and helmet for the full price of the scooter.

Not too bad and it adds a bit of balance of the amount dd dance fees cost me

babsmam · 17/02/2015 19:45

Creme egg is Richmond castles worth a visit?

girliefriend · 17/02/2015 19:48

Thanks for the concern, i love this thread Smile bantam I wonder if it is something similar then as she is young as well, reassuring that it did heal.

Nandos was lush Grin had peri peri chicken in pitta with chips and toffee cheesecake for pudding!! Dd wasn't that impressed though, didn't like the chicken so just ate chips and garlic bread!! Got one drink between us as it is free refills so spent £14.50 in all. A nice end to the day and girl cat is tearing about as if not a care in the world!!

Laska42 · 17/02/2015 19:53

Girlie hugs for your poor pusscat. my cat has lost all his teeth ( in fact he didnt have many when we got him fromth cat rescue at a year old , , bad nutritinas a kitten i suppose as he was a stray. but he eats well , if messily...

Spendy today , but was (nearly) all in the budget so ok,

  • 2 birthday cards £4.98
  • A full tank of petrol £42.60 (funny how even though its a lot it feels cheap these days..)
  • £2 coin in the piggy ( they all go in there )
  • £2 ona work leaving collection (for boss i dont like and am pleased is going, (and ill have to go out -and pay to have -a lunchl later this week for her .. Ok, I am a miserable old cow, I know).

  • £5 on the Itsu book from Bookpeople , (cos its full of yummy low cal things and i need inspiration to to re-lose the stone and a half I lost on 5:2 couple of years ago .. I want to do this by June)

  • £4 change in the car park money compartment

  • £9 .27 inthe co op

So im down to £90 now ... and i still have the birthdays atthe weekend .(il be cooking a nice meal for those though). I may have to delve into the savings account....

Chicken soup made for my rest of the week meals , and tonight was a eggy veggie stir fry ..

Laska42 · 17/02/2015 19:54

Ememem84 gotta recipe for the ginger pork sesame meatballs? Sounds lovely!

AdoraBell · 17/02/2015 20:49

Hope your cat is better soon girlie, glad she's healthy despite the mouth issue.

Spent £2.10 on lemons for pancakes and strawberries for DH and me to have while DDs tuck into pancakes Envy still haven't found GF flour here.

House insurance here doesn't cover things like the freezer, it's really very basic cover.

CremeEggThief · 17/02/2015 21:38

I think so, Babsmam. There are also a couple of good museums, a swimming pool, a cinema, and a lovely river to walk by, with a small playground, as well as plenty of shops, cafes and an indoor market to browse, so all in all, a pleasant day out. The old station is a brilliant place to visit- fab shops and that's where the cinema is.

NK5BM3 · 17/02/2015 21:43

Thanks need, cremeegg, sporting and spotty and everyone else!

So it's at 9am next Thursday in London. Which means I need to leave here at about 7.20 or so to get to London in time for trains to be delayed etc. not too bad except it will cost about £70. Will try and get that back - think they pay for transport. Will ask headhunter.

Spent the usual for the cleaner and also £30 for a replacement certificate. Yup. Spent the last few hours trying to hunt my phd certificate down - argh. It won't come in time but I have other things they can look at that basically says the same thing. Just not the actual certificate. I have told
The headhunter so hopefully he will communicate that to them.

Plus I have to now figure out how I'm going to lay out my vision for what they want me to do... In 10 min. I'm thinking diagram and then talk round it. Few words. What do you think?!!

fuzzpig · 17/02/2015 22:07

I'm in no way experienced with this sort of thing NK, but I do think presentations are much better when there isn't much written down. Those presentations where someone just basically reads out what they've got written on their slides just seem a bit pointless. So I think your diagram idea is good :)

Glad you enjoyed nandos girlie :) my DCs don't like it either so it tends to be just DH and I when we get the chance. Or sometimes my dad picks up a takeaway for us all :o

I'm pleased as DCs have already got spaces at a home ed gymnastics club and it's waaaay cheaper than regular clubs at the leisure centre :)

fuzzpig · 17/02/2015 22:10

Spotty sorry your results aren't helpful. Are there any plans going forward like referrals etc?
