Thanks all have got an appointment for later this morning so hoping he will be nice and helpful!

Just checked online account have £74 to last until payday which is the 28th, only need to get some petrol and some more food with that at some point. I suppose may end up with some prescriptions to get as well. Have got lots for dds bday now so going to step away from Amazon!!

Ememem84 · 19/01/2015 11:25

hoping for NSD today. have just received a refund from tutor (Hooray!) so have sensibly paid of a chunk of credit card. And have spent the last hour online looking and applying for a new fancy savings account.

staying in the house as much as possible today, have DIY bits to sort out. May venture to the gym.

Encyclo · 19/01/2015 11:44

Good luck girliefriend Flowers

NSD today. Ds14 had the massive sulks because I packed him a lunch and wouldn't give him money to buy lunch. His school has boarders so the lunches are really nice. His new plan is to sit next to a boarder and beg for scraps Hmm The lunch I packed him was fab too. Little git.

sportinguista · 19/01/2015 12:19

Good luck Girlie hope he is good to you. My doctors were great when I was at my worst. I got referred for counselling through them and it has helped and was free. I still feel wobbly sometimes and I sometimes wonder if I'll ever be quite right again but, onward and upward as they say!

Not too bad today £5.96 for a load of Quorn stuff from Tesco who are currently price beating Aldi for that. £1.18 for big pack potatoes, they are the basics ones but look fine for mashing etc. Will need to buy some stuff for DH sandwich though!

Going to make a red kidney bean soup shortly which will see us through most of week.

Talked to a former work contact who hopefully can get me some freelance jobs and hooked up with another agency who I've worked with in the past. Just hard not to be impatient to get started and back into things. I want to turn my back on the crap year that was 2014!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2015 12:20

Hope the drs nice girlie.

Should easily be nsd today.

I've done my interview prep for tomorrow although as dh kindly reminded me, don't know why I'm bothering to go because even if i get it I have no childcare. Even ds' nursery is full until September.

VitoCorleoneAgain · 19/01/2015 12:45

Can i join? Used to be very good at being frugal, then went through a stage of blowing every penny, now i need to be frugal again Grin

Passthecake30 · 19/01/2015 13:08

Lol encyclo begging for scraps Grin I do that with the dcs sweet cones if they go to a party!

Nsd....go me! Though fingers are twitching at the Ipad. ...must resist!

lilacclery · 19/01/2015 14:02

NSD yesterday and today, tomorrow will pay for parking while I withdraw money for my car tax and while taking ds to the hospital.

I'm currently shopping around for car insurance as my renewal is €100 more than last year. I can match last years by paying 25% and then 9 monthly payments or upfront I can beat but I really don't have the finance so far

Encyclo · 19/01/2015 14:09

lila I'm shopping around in Ireland too. We're with Allianz, have you any recs?

Don't do it Pass! Talk to us instead. We're talk you back from the ledge.

Welcome Vito :)

Good luck Spotty and Sporting with the job stuff. Hope it all works out.

I'm running down the clock at work big time now. Just 9 more work days after this. I am SO ready to be at home.

girliefriend · 19/01/2015 14:44

The dr was nice, have started a course of antidepressants and been signed off for two weeks. Really hoping the pills will help as the thought of feeling like this for much longer does not appeal.

Anyway prescription was £8, no other spends planned for today.

lilacclery · 19/01/2015 14:49

encyclo aviva and its4women were the best ones I've come up with so far. Aviva is cheaper but a once off payment.

spotty would there be help from your family or friends to tide you over if you got work or a different childcare option?

encyclo that'll be a big change

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2015 14:53

Hope they help girlie Thanks

Unfortunately not. I don't know any mums at the school Blush my mums disabled and my step mum works. Mil has buggered off to live in New Zealand selfish Wink

Cheap dinner tonight. Pasta, pesto, feta and any salad bits lurking in the fridge.

lilacclery · 19/01/2015 15:10

The interview experience will stand to you anyhow spotty
Today for lunch I had that soup from the credit crunch thread, it's amazing I'm going to make a pot tonight for rest of the week's lunches, also had a ham toastie
Tonight will be carbonara and tomorrow will be sicilian chicken. We're able to have good meals and hearty lunches because I did a good shopping list this week. I love it when cupboards are full and no top up shops are necessary. Generally I only spend one day per week!

CremeEggThief · 19/01/2015 16:46

Hope you start feeling better soon, Girlie Thanks. I am on 10mg City Lopham for anxiety, and it works so well. I originally went on 20mg for depression nearly 2 years ago, but I found it much better for anxiety longterm.

NSD here. My online Tesco has just turned up. £40.41, which will probably come out tomorrow. Just need to get bread, pizza, and more vegetables at the weekend.

CremeEggThief · 19/01/2015 16:47

citalopram!

babsmam · 19/01/2015 17:02

Finally have to pay the dance fees today £153 for the term.

Aldi voucher day on the 22 nd apparently in the mirror

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/01/2015 17:12

fuzzpig · 19/01/2015 17:20

Damn. The lego Christmas set I ordered a while ago to put away is no longer available. Website error. Oh well, it's money saved I guess.

bantamgirl · 19/01/2015 17:21

Bank: £914.29 (was £914.29)
Purse: £4.35 (was £4.35)
Jar: £61.60 (was £65.60)
Grand Total: £980.24
Reduced by: £4.00
Days to payday: 25

Spends since yesterday
Errrr - assuming it is bus fare...

Scrapped the old car today and got £120 for it. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet so haven't put it in the accounts part - to be honest, it'll probably be spent on DS2 as it is his birthday in two weeks.

Sixforgold · 19/01/2015 17:25

Somehow £8.10 on random bits in Aldi (did include AA batteries and cotton wool. Going back to the Costco thing I could have bought them yesterday but I only need one battery not 40!)

£170 nursery but now paid until end of February.

Pointlessfan · 19/01/2015 18:27

NSD for me today although DH bought loo roll and some biscuits. We also found out our mortgage payments will be coming down by about £300 when fixed rate end next month which coincides nicely with having to start paying nursery fees.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2015 18:31

Nsd. Got a cold and a spot. Dh pissing me off.

Passthecake30 · 19/01/2015 18:41

spotty you need chocolate!

I fear this frugalness will catch up on me in one giant splurge. What I want the most is new gym gear as I'm going 4-5 days a week to give me some sort of routine and that would be expensive.....but tbh it doesn't really matter in my small town cheapy gym....

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2015 18:43

I've had some Grin 70% cocoa... Will be going to bed after emmerdale!

574ejones · 19/01/2015 18:49

NSD here today as well. Find it so much easier now I work in the middle of nowhere, there's no temptation to pop into town and spend! My fixed rate mortgage ends this month too so we should save about £200 on that.

January is such a looong month...
