Bank: €94.47 (€20 diesel & €50 cashback for beautican & in case of spends needed Sat night out or Sun at workshop)

£8.05 on another prescription for stuff for the side effects from the antibiotics. Sigh. £26.50 at the butchers

574ejones · 29/01/2015 17:56

£3.20 for lunch but two NSDs in a row prior to that. DH has just told me he is doing his tax return tonight - nothing like leaving it to the last minute!! Shock

Hope you feel better soon fluffy. Had a snow flurry here but didn't settle.

needastrongone · 29/01/2015 18:25

Thanks for the information about YNAB, sadly, it doesn't work on a Chromebook, which is what I use in the main. I have had a look at a couple of other apps which do similar though.

fluffy - hope you feel better soon Sad

Spends

£7 doggy treats, rare for them.
£10 rescue remedy for DD. We have just got our competition schedule for the pony club discipline that we do. It's very fully on, we compete most weekends from April until September, and she gets nervous, so 2 bottles.
£50 Morrisons delivery.

Tomorrow I will need to fill the horse box with diesel, which will be about £80. Will arrange for a quote for some tiling, carpets cleaned and some seating for the horse box.

Spag bol for tea. DH was most cheesed off to be vegetarian two nights in a row and I had mushrooms to use anyway Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/01/2015 18:32

Thank you for all the well wishes. Smile

Who's doing the Feb thread? I've done two and I'll look like a megalomaniac if I do a third.

£42.47 in Morrissons today, I went to get cold and flu stuff plus squash and some fruit to make a 'care package' for DS who is suffering (and who lives in a shared house and never seems to have money for that kind of thing)

Somehow some other things fell in my basket also ..Blush

£1.39 in health shop for lemon and ginger tea for DS as he asked especially (I forgot this in Morrissons and expect it would have been cheaper there..)

Also ive now invited a friend over for weekend and have just remembered she is lactose intolerant .. so ill have to go shopping again tomorrow to get suitable stuff..

I forgot the washing up liquid again!

.. still waiting for £55 of my refund from Hush to hit the bank, although they have sent me the refund email, perhaps it will arrive tonight..

Laska42 · 29/01/2015 18:42

.. so people have been stuck at home because of snow ( not here, i'm in far south).

I wonder if the internet shopping rates have soared? ( I bet they have , online retailers will be pleased!)

sportinguista · 29/01/2015 18:51

So LSD here £4.49 bottle of wine and £2.58 on peppers, chewing gum and lolly for DS.

Went to a business start up seminar and there was free coffee and nice lunch which made my day! Smile Learnt a lot too!

Tomorrow just planned spends and hoping for a no spend weekendSmile

Pointlessfan · 29/01/2015 19:47

I DID go online this afternoon in the end but I did the opposite of shopping! Went on online banking to do coin sweeping and also paid off a chunk of my credit card with some premium bonds I cashed in then sold some CDs on Music Magpie for just over 7 quid.

confusedandemployed · 29/01/2015 19:52

NSD up to getting home at 6pm and realising I CBA to cook, so straight back out to Tesco, £7.26 on pizza, lemonade and Bombay mix. Could've been worse.

Taytocrisps · 29/01/2015 20:03

Just catching up on the last few pages.

Encyclo, am I right in thinking it's your last day tomorrow? Good luck! Must feel strange (and rather liberating) to know that you won't be going back, especially after so many years working. Flowers

It was interesting to read the posts about Child Benefit (a few pages back). CB is a universal payment in Ireland so it's paid to everyone irrespective of their income. Since the recession, there's been a bit of talk about means testing it, but the government haven't gone down that road yet. Seems a bit unfair that in the UK it's based on one salary and not total household income. At least, that's my understanding of it.

Ememem, when the recession hit in Ireland our government introduced so many new taxes/charges (in a very short space of time) that our disposable income was drastically hit. We had to accept that foreign holidays simply weren't an option for the foreseeable future. Things got so bad at one stage that we couldn't even afford a short break in Ireland. It's depressing because we both work and felt we deserved a holiday. But our mortgage and bills and food had to take precedence over the luxury of a holiday. In future years when we no longer have to pay childcare (and hopefully things will have eased economically also), we hope to resume foreign holidays. Must be frustrating for you trying to explain to your DH that short term pain = long term gain.

Not much to report on the spending front. Been taking it easy all week. Getting a bit fed up with the cold and rain and wind and sleet and snow. Roll on February!

confusedandemployed · 29/01/2015 20:09

Watching Eat Well For Less....are people seriously thus stupid??!!

babsmam · 29/01/2015 20:13

Hope everyone is doing OK. Back to work tomorrow but unbudged £15 for afterschool as grandparents snowed in. We are 25 minutes away and have hardly anything but they are reporting up to 6 inches

NK5BM3 · 29/01/2015 20:18

£20+ on meds. My turn to get ill now... Confused Temp of 39, throat so sore, and aching everywhere. Boo.

northender · 29/01/2015 20:18

New thread here ready for February

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/01/2015 20:21

Ooh I can't watch it yet (no licence) are they excessively frivolous?.

One of our relatives throws food away if it gets near sell by. Just chucks it in the bin.

CremeEggThief · 29/01/2015 20:28

I'm watching and feeling rather annoyed at the waste and hoarding.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/01/2015 20:34

39c is quite high! You must feel rotten. Temperatures are meant to be good for killing off infection though.

Taytocrisps · 29/01/2015 20:42

Get well soon NK

RobinEllacott · 29/01/2015 20:45

NSD. Thanks to all those with illnesses. northender, thanks for starting the new thread.

Weekend should be cheap-ish: DH is taking DD to see MIL tomorrow straight after school, and I'm planning an evening in with a DVD after work. Saturday will do food shop, but there shouldn't be anything else this weekend.

SpottyTeacakes · 29/01/2015 20:50

Oh no all you poorly people! Hope you all get better soon. I've got a cold but feeling ok.

NK5BM3 · 29/01/2015 20:54

Thanks everyone. Can't believe this. I did have the flu jab too! Haven't felt so rotten in years. Friend will take ds to school. Can't move.

babsmam · 29/01/2015 21:02

Oh no NK I'm no medic but My tonsillitis symptoms were similar to that. Couple of golf balls in your throat? Hideous to Swallow?
