Thought I'd do the honours Smile

With kids back at school and autumn weather drawing in we all need a very sensible September. I'm putting up my thermal curtains and refusing to put on the heating until October. Who's in?

I've checked the local weather for the next 10 days and no huge fluctuations of temps, so no worries about needing the heater yet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2014 15:03

£5 make up
£3 cat food
£1 veg.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 12/09/2014 15:25

Good luck pass

My abdo/back symptoms have returned (4ish weeks post-surgery] and my consultant doesn't work Fridays or Mondays so I can't see him until Tuesday afternoon. Had to take day off work today but will have to try and drag myself in tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. Sad I am so upset, they were sure they'd sorted me but clearly not. I just hope I don't need more surgery.

FantaSea · 12/09/2014 15:55

girliefriend · 12/09/2014 17:06

MissA that doen't sound good - hope you are o.kay.

I have only spent 52p today on a packet of sweets for dd (sweetie Friday Wink ) worked extra today.

Hoping for another NSD tomos, planning on bike ride and picnic with dd Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2014 17:31

I never find bargains in b&m, people put them on hotukdeals and I still can't find them in my local.

missa that is bad news, will the healthcare cover pay for it to be investigated?.

AuditAngel · 12/09/2014 17:39

£4.39 on lunch, £15 top up in Sainsburys, mainly bread and some drinks for DS packed teas for the theatre. Will post last night's spends after picking up DD2.

needastrongone · 12/09/2014 17:43

NSD and renegotiated kids mobile contracts which will save us about £10 a month. OK not loads but a bit. DS's phone is buggered, so he will have to have his now, which is a shame as that was going to be his Christmas present.

Doing my first Orchard test, fresh fish. Just waiting to hear about details now that I have signed up.

Very sorry re the back pain. Having been a long term sufferer, I am really sorry that the op doesn't appear to have gone well missA.

Good luck for the second interview pass

Badvoc123 · 12/09/2014 17:56

£50 in aldi
Means I have £50 left for the week for groceries.
Ds2s party next Saturday so I have to buy other stuff next week - like crisps, sausage rolls etc.
Then I have to make his cake
Sold some more stuff on ebay which I will need to post on Monday...will be about £8.
Dh has a box of stuff to sell on e bay - but he can't find it!! Argh!
Today was the first morning I have been cold :(

Badvoc123 · 12/09/2014 17:57

DD'S birthday tomorrow. We're taking 3 of her friends out for afternoon tea and i'm giving them £20 budget to spend on stayawake sleepover treats.

Low spend days rather than no spend days the last few days but overall ok.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2014 18:24

bad, have you got a slow cooker? There's a fb slow cooker page that's been using sc to bake wrights cake mixes in those paper liners the Poundshop sell.

They come out really flat on top which makes decorating so much easier.

£5 on ready mix G&T. Pricey but I can't be trusted with whole bottles of spirits.

Badvoc123 · 12/09/2014 18:34

I haven't, no.
If it goes horribly wrong I shall be buying a plain cake and decorating it :)

FantaSea · 12/09/2014 18:47

badvoc I used to make a plain cake for DD in a swiss roll size tin - I would use 2 cake mixes to fill it up. Then I iced the top and put on a load of sweets. I am not that great at making cakes (hence the need for mixes!) but it always got all eaten up and is a lot cheaper than buying a big cake.

oneofthosedays · 12/09/2014 18:57

Low spend day here - no DD's due out of the bank, spent £10 on essential threading (believe me, with my 'tasche it is essential Grin ) and DH and I are treating ourselves to a Chinese tonight which should be around £12. Off swimming now (but price included in membership! ).

AuditAngel · 12/09/2014 18:58

Ok, so another painfully expensive dancing class last night.

£9 for a jar of home made/home grown honey (which I will give DH for his birthday). £8.45 for a red leotard. I also need to buy 3 second hand costumes. I have been put in touch with another mum who wants to sell.

I need to buy white ballet shoes for DD2 (probably about £7-10), tights, probably both the girls, green leggings and tops for both DS and DD1 for about £8.50 each, plus another costume for DD1, where the material is £8 without having it made.

I need to buy 5 flowered hair bands for DD1, but fortunately from the £shop.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 12/09/2014 19:56

AuditAngel my sympathies on the dance expenses. I remember well when dd was in dance - very competitive, loads of classes, and it seemed like every time I turned around there was another expense cropping up. Thankfully she's an adult now and isn't doing the competitive dance stuff anymore!

NK5BM3 · 12/09/2014 21:22

NSD yesterday I think... Can't remember. Today, paid £60 for ds' gym lessons for the term. Tomorrow will be doing an Aldi shop and buying some stuff for Dd's birthday next weekend. Hopeful it's not too much.

Dh is looking into car insurance that needs renewing. We think we will be going through topcashback with Hastings direct. Looks the cheapest, with the same things we need like complimentary car etc...and a great cash back! Can't believe it though. Not sure why though that we can't click through and it said something like we can't go through compare the market link. We went through the link on the email but there wasn't a connecting link. Any thoughts?

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2014 21:27

Do you mean you want to get cb via comparethemarket?

listsandbudgets · 12/09/2014 21:52

£65 for cat at vet but at least she no longer has grit lodged under her lower eyelid, is vaccinated, wormed and deflead.

£2 for a bottle of schloer for DD so we could toast her becoming a sixer at Brownies :)

chocolatedonut · 13/09/2014 00:48
