Thought I'd do the honours Smile

With kids back at school and autumn weather drawing in we all need a very sensible September. I'm putting up my thermal curtains and refusing to put on the heating until October. Who's in?

20£ top up on food.

SpottyTeacakes · 26/09/2014 06:45

Nsd yesterday.

Pay day today and child benefit tomorrow. I did a tiny bit of overtime last month so have an extra £30 odd.

Passthecake it's this bag Smile

Sixforgold · 26/09/2014 07:05

Spotty!!! I've been looking for a cross shoulder bag as mine broke in the summer - I need this too now!! Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 26/09/2014 07:26

I don't know which colour to go for? Get topcashback too!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 26/09/2014 08:28

NSD yesterday, should be today too as although I really need my eyebrows doing I don't think I can manage the walk into town yet.

Still trying to think of batch-cooked meals to use up all our veg, am cancelling the veg box this week again to allow us to catch up. Will try to use this time off work to recuperate but also to eat down cupboards as I have more time to think of how to use odd stuff.

Passthecake I like a pot noodle when ill too although had one Tue n being 31wks pregnant it gave me terrible heartburn- should I confess it was a king pot

listsandbudgets · 26/09/2014 09:31

Just checked my bank account. It looks like I'm goign to have some money left at the end of the month rather than some month left at the end of my money.

I can really see the difference writing it all down makes :)

Spotty I like the red one.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2014 09:34

Well done lists.

The fish vouchers are here. I'm going to use the ones "for a friend" too so £14 worth of free fish.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 26/09/2014 09:40

fluffy have you got good fish recipes? We're now veggie at home but I have some frozen fish and meat left from ages ago and can't think how to use it. I have

1 x frozen salmon fillet
1 x packet frozen tuna steak chunks
1 x packet frozen prawns
1 x pack 10 beef meatballs

I think that's it...

Blush

I'm going to get Manx kippers. Dh is a meat and two veg man Sad so no fancy cooking here.

He won't even try venison.

CoolCadbury · 26/09/2014 09:59

I'm stalking you today missa Wink

Salmon curry (Thai or Indian) is delicious. I actually like making salmon pilau (my own recipe). Or rub with some Cajun spices and fry. Yum.

Well done lists.

We are nearly at 1000 posts, could someone please start a new thread?

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 26/09/2014 10:20

New thread here, although my powers of alliteration sadly failed me... Grin

spotty very nice, and in my favourite colour too (teal)

One of each seeing as it's on sale and it's pay day? Wink kidding of course

Asda delivery arrived £43. Doing twice a week shops of £40 atm, if it's over I wait until next time. I know it's more than a lot of people spend but hopefully it'll keep me from nipping to more expensive shops and it's what we spend anyway. ..includes booze and toiletries etc.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2014 13:42

£10 petrol
55p salt and cream cleaner
£17, bday present & card. Dh will pay be back half though.
£136 to the accountant.

I'm going to swap the joint account to nationwide too so hopefully another £80 cashback between us.

You need to set cookie security really low for quidco or the damn things don't track

Karenthetoadslayer · 26/09/2014 13:46

Resorted to Nectar points to fund my weekly shop, but it couldn't be helped and the upside is that I only spent £1.45. Oh well. Plus I picked up my free cappuccino from Waitrose on the way back. So all in all a profitable morning and I am now moving on to doing my own legal correspondence which is nerve racking but will save £££. Smile

Have to finally put some stuff on eBay at the weekend.

Sixforgold · 26/09/2014 16:37

Well done karen! I've used my club card vouchers for the shopping before now. I know I can get more value if I boost them but often an extra tenner for shopping right now can be more useful than the promise of pizza express down the line.

£2.50 spent at Macmillan Coffee Morning. We may spend more later as DH has suggested a walk and pint to enjoy this (seemingly never-ending!) gorgeous sunshine! I don't feel too bad though as we can use the £20 cash we didn't use for the cleaner leaving our joint account intact - really hoping to have at least £100 left by end of month on Tuesday. We have enough petrol and food and only one more direct debit to go out so it's do-able BUT we're off to ikea tomorrow - temptation!

furcoatbigknickers · 26/09/2014 16:44

Food for weekend.... £30 odd in m&s... Includes 2 dine for £10, the wine alone was &14! Bargain.

We are off to thorpe park tom.... So will bring a picnic

£4.75 guinea food

AdoraBell · 26/09/2014 18:21

Need to buy yoghurt and nuts today.

Next week I must get the house fumigated. Spring weather is bringing bugs out and building is about to start the other side of our garden fence, I don't want whatever is in/on/under the as yet undisturbed ground migrating. That'll be about £200. Which is why I've put it off until now.

Well done Karen

Hope you have a lovely walk and pint Six

See on the October thread.

ItalianWiking84 · 26/09/2014 18:34

Nsd Grin

Will pack picnic to take with us and drinks so we can have lunch in the castle garden
Smile
Wish everybody a lovely weekend Cake

girliefriend · 26/09/2014 18:57

NSD and pay day Smile should be a fairly cheap wend, walk tomorrow and conker collecting, a free fun day and swimming on Sunday.

Karenthetoadslayer · 26/09/2014 19:22

My thoughts exactly, Sixforgold

Cheap and fun evening: I entertained the children by teaching them to make delicious puddings from my local region, a type of pancakes, so everybody is happy. The kitchen is a mess, of course. Smile

NK5BM3 · 26/09/2014 19:57

£2.80 on bus. And £43 on coffees but that will be claimed back.
At work tomorrow and Sunday. Unusual, so feel v bad for kids. Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2014 19:59

It's not great for you either nk. It'll pass.
