Makingchanges happy anniversary for next week Smile

spring my mother used to make proper popcorn. She made a sort of sugar syrup, which I think was butter and brown sugar and then rolled the popcorn in that, after it had popped. It was lovely Smile

£66 in Tesco today.

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 07/06/2014 17:05

hehe spring I love her blog, the pictures are so full of colour and light. She's a great mum, too, her little girl is adorable.

CoolCadbury · 07/06/2014 17:45

missanne burst appendix. Sad That sounds horribly painful and I now have an image of an internal organ exploding - just in time for dinner.Ugh.

CremeEggThief · 07/06/2014 18:15

NSD.

Lilbup · 07/06/2014 19:22

I spent £4.95 on milk and ham and DH spent £15 on I'm not really sure what in the local shop.

PinkSquash · 07/06/2014 19:34

Had a day out with the DC to the National Marine Aquarium? We went in April and you get free returns for a year so we saved £20 entry. The trains and plus bus came to £12, was supposed to be £17.40 but I had the free Family Railcard. Bought a few teas and the DC got a fish toy and magazine so I could relax on the train home.

Spent about £30 in all today Blush I'm utterly skint so need some chastisement.

Tomorrow hopefully will be a LSD as we'll have cricket and possibly a trip on another train and a couple of boats.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2014 19:56

NSD.

silkknickers · 07/06/2014 20:52

was planning for a NSD today, but the neighbour's daughter held a cake stall so I bought 4 fairy cakes for £1.

threedeer · 07/06/2014 21:32

Spendy day. Bought some necessary clothes for DC, some unnecessary nice bath stuff for me (with birthday money) and some Father's Day pressies- one of which I've already eaten and will have to be replaced :)

Total spend about £60. Hmm.

AuditAngel · 07/06/2014 21:44

£4.30 in the post office, £70 in Tescos, but that included DD1's school shirts for September (£4.50 for 2), a present for her best friend (Barbie's little sister playhouse, £23 down to £11.50), plus a present for the store cupboard (Playdoh Aeriel dress making thingy (£12 down to £6), so really £50 in Tesco. Still need to do a Sainsbury's shop mid week).

Tomorrow I need diesel, plus we are going to relatives for lunch so a taxi home. Last time the taxi was £18 for 2 of us, so more tomorrow as we have the kids too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2014 22:39

Audit Asda have reduced their Diesel. It was on twitter & hotukdeals.

NSD. DH bought lunch with a client.

Tomorrow should be another NSD. Will catch up later.

AdoraBell · 08/06/2014 03:04

Fanta that pop corn syrup sounds good, I'll give that a go.

Threedeer nice bath stuff is not unnecessary, especially when birthday money comes into it.

Making hope you and DH have a good anniversary. Our's is the week after, I have steak in the freezer from DH's over estamition on the BBQ a couple of weeks so will just need to buy salad. I plan to do steak florentine using rosemary from the garden. He spent a lot today on the lunch and we can't afford another meal out.

MissAnnersley that burst apendix sounds very painfull. Have you had to change your diet to adjust?

Is Father's day next weekend in the UK?

ValiumQueen · 08/06/2014 06:10

It is Adora. 15th. Same day as DD1's birthday. Thankfully I have got most things for her already, and have saved up for the party food etc.

ValiumQueen · 08/06/2014 06:14

I will be off to a car boot sale shortly, armed with pocket money. I am a sucker for bargains and buy stuff that will not be used for a few years. I kid myself I am saving money and am reaping the benefits from years gone past, but sometimes wonder if it is false economy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/06/2014 09:30

Speaking of Father's Day, there's an offer on Grouse scotch on the checkout smart app.

£2 off a bottle if you buy it from asda, it's £11 in there making it £9 a bottle. The price in sainsburys is £19.

I've had problems with checkout smart not paying out multiple receipts so put things on offer on seperate receipts.

They've got offers on seabrooks 120g lattice cut, £1 back for a £1 spend & seabrooks straight cut multipacks £1 back for a £1 spend and free volvox touch of fruit 500ml.

The minimum payout is £5 but they take 5% commission for withdrawals below £20.

I'll probably buy a Christmas present while I'm there too.

Hoping for a NSD today - we are in exam hell at the moment as DD has her Chemistry A2 exam tomorrow so she needs me to be on standby for testing her. She is all weepy about it today so I will try and help her as much as I can - I can't do it myself very well though as it is all so hard. At least it will keep me out of the shops.

Hope everyone has a good day in the sunshine Smile

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 08/06/2014 16:15

adora not really, I wasn't allowed to drink alcohol for 6 weeks after surgery because they put me on very strong IV antibiotics and then pills to ward off peritonitis, but apart from that I can in theory eat whatever I want.

I've started this cleanse thing more to try and up the fruit and veg and water etc and just give my body a chance to properly heal, I feel like (even though my surgery scars have healed etc) that I've not quite been myself since the operation. I've been run down, ill, had unexplained back pain etc.

Hopefully this will help...

SpottyTeacakes · 08/06/2014 16:47

Nsd. Fridge is practically empty in prep for our holiday.

CremeEggThief · 08/06/2014 17:34

NSD.

AdoraBell · 08/06/2014 17:43

I hope it does help MissAnnersley. I've used a system from a book called Clean, that was good but expensive to do properly as it requires organic meat and produce.

Today should be another NSD for me.

threedeer · 08/06/2014 19:04

NSD

Lie in
Bike ride with DC
Hung out with DC and chatted
Did a bit of work on computer and sent out an invoice (always good feeling to know money's coming in!)
Cooked a Sunday roast which we had in the garden.

V happy, lazy day no spending.

CoolCadbury · 08/06/2014 19:15

Another NSD. Yay.

I do have to buy DS some summer shoes and a few pair of trousers as all his trousers now have split in the right knee. Even the reinforced knee ones did not last long. Hmm Shame he does not do shorts.

Iamnotanugget · 08/06/2014 19:25

Desperately trying to have nsdays but for some reason the more skint I am the more I feel the urge to spend! Resisted spending today. Made some hummus and some sort of Mediterranean type beans for lunch, served with reduced pittas and some olives and salad. My cupboards are nearly empty but I've meal planned so it's all ok.

Dc3 is wearing me out with constant demands for feeding. Still it's stopping me spending!

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/06/2014 19:29

£2.80 work supplies.
£1 crisps & 75p on a drink but it was stuff I knew checkout smart would reimburse me for so it's free.
