Woohoo -I've just learnt how to do fancy links!

threedeer · 06/06/2014 21:16

LSD! Less than £5 on drinks with a client.
Fluffy you make your own wraps? I'm impressed.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2014 21:20

It was the first time tonight, I over cooked them so imagine a large crispy pancake.

Wraps will be something I have to work on. They taste nice though.

Thanks audit.

fluffy have you made naan bread? It's really easy. I use madhur jaffrey's recipe. Cheap and can be frozen too.

AuditAngel · 06/06/2014 22:13

New swap thread as the old one is nearly full.

Frugal win last night - we went out to a birthday party but instead of taxis and babysitters a friend came to sit and I drove there and back. Spent about £15 rather than £60+

Frugal lose - DH absentmindedly put the milk away in the cupboard overnight. Unfortunately it was the warm cupboard next to the boiler so a couple of pints had to be ditched.

£30 on a 'top up' yesterday. Mainly staples like fruit, loo roll, milk and bread but have also bought enough additions to make store cupboard meals until midweek.

I need some motivation to find stuff to sell on ebay or Facebook...

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2014 09:47

cool I would love to do naan bread but I'm allergic to cows milk. I tried using soya yoghurt and milk but they lack acidity and they tasted like scones.

springbright You can use milk that is fresh but soured to make brilliant scones. My mum used to when I was very young and we didn't have a fridge.

Charlieboo30 · 07/06/2014 12:13

£30 on fuel, £22 at Lidl on the stuff I didn't get at Morrisons yesterday and £4 in smiths on papers and a half price book. Also got £20 cash for the rest of the week (used some to buy stamps at the post office.)

Not intending to spend anything else until Weds when I will need to get bread and milk.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/06/2014 12:20

£30 petrol
£50 tesco

Iamnotanugget · 07/06/2014 12:43

I've been keeping up with you all but haven't had had a chance to post. Limping on to payday on Friday. I've sold some Tesco vouchers on ebay for £15. I ordered them because we were going out over half term but didn't in the end and won't get another chance to use them. I'm annoyed because I hate wasting points but the cash is useful.

Meal planned until end of the week and then picked up a mystery shopping assignment giving me £15 of free groceries and free delivery so have only really paid £10 for this weeks shop Grin

Fluffy it took me a couple of tries to get my wraps right. They really do only take a few seconds each side. Very quick and cheap.

Cadbury I've made those naan. They're lush.

CoolCadbury · 07/06/2014 12:53

Fluffy Adding a good long squeeze of lemon juice should help with those naans.

NSD. Am on a roll Grin

I have finally finally finally got DH to use YNAB and stick to it. He is finally accepting that he is the problem. I also told him he is the solution. This, unfortunately, came after he admitted to a credit card of £6,500 that he got behind my back. But I am back, and gonna get back in control of our money!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2014 13:27

I will try the lemon juice. My wraps had considerably longer than a few seconds each side.

I could market them as biodegradable frisbees.

Welcome back Valium, is this the poetry writing dh?

Aldi shop £35. Yay! Went to sainsburys to get a rosemary plant but they didn't have any. Bought some rice noodles and cake. £3.80?

Baking brownies, and banana muffins now. Should serve for some puddings this weekend and early next week.

Off to town in a bit. Need will power.

ValiumQueen · 07/06/2014 14:08

Well remembered Fluffy.

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 07/06/2014 14:35

£9.50 on fruit and veg at stall, £7ish in M and S, £14 in Sainsbos. Also ordered a veg and fruit box and salad box from Riverford, to arrive Tuesday and it should last two weeks (at least the stuff like apples and spuds should at £30ish.

Am trying out this eating clean thing by a fave blogger of mine from the states
Oh Dear Drea so it might be spendy on fruit and veg for a while but on the other hand no alcohol/crisps/chocolate etc. I've been so ill on and off since my appendix burst in January that I think it's worth it to just try and get back on track with a bit of healthy eating and cutting out wine and crap.

springbright · 07/06/2014 15:18

Ouch miss, I think that is justification in itself!

I've bought some popping corn as a frugal snack for the football tonight - any flavour/cooking tips appreciated!

springbright · 07/06/2014 16:03

I've just lost a lovely 40 minutes browsing the ohdeardrea blog Smile

Makingchanges · 07/06/2014 16:40

Top up shop £8.42 in Morrisons and £5.08 in the range. Need to do a full shop at some point but really need to see what we can use up from freezer and cupboards and meal plan first. Took my grandma around a few shops and ran a few errands too so she game me £5 towards petrol. Also got a voucher for a bottle of wine from Brewers Fayre as its our anniversary next week. We also have £10 in loyalty points saved up so hoping we can make use of this next week if we can spend both vouchers at the same time. Just need a night I don't have to be up for school the next day as DH doesn't drink but should be a cheap and cheerful anniversary.

Makingchanges · 07/06/2014 17:04

Ohhhh ridiculously excited that I just logged onto my Tesco clubcard to find that I had 70 in vouchers after being reminded about these by whoever it was who sold their up thread. Have just used £30 for English heritage membership for us all so that will help with keeping DD occupied at weekends. We had looked at this before as it really helped with not spending at weekends when we had it before but didn't think we could afford it but the vouchers are 3 times their value so covered us all, saving £90 as I was teetering on just going for it.
