Thought I'd start a new thread for April Smile

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 05/04/2014 06:04

Well done CremeEgg!! Going to be two years max before ours are clear. Dp annoyed me yesterday as he's frittered away some cash he earned on nothing (beer, chocolate and football) Angry

SpottyTeacakes · 05/04/2014 07:11

Off to lidl in a bit (with both dc on my own Hmm that's why I've always got deliveries!). If I get £10 under budget I might treat us to breakfast at sainsburys.

northender · 05/04/2014 09:29

Working this weekend as is dh but its all overtime so to the general good. Need to sort pressies for those on childcare duty. May make cakes.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/04/2014 11:24

£39 in lidl yay!
£23.49 top up in sainsburys Hmm that included a £9 Indian meal for two though. Plus I have enough nappies for two weeks, kitchen roll for three and loo roll for four.
£6.49 on breakfast.

Still within budget but not great.

In lidl I couldn't find chorizo was I missing it?

Possiblyorange · 05/04/2014 13:01

Hello frugaleers! Just attempting to catch back up after DC3 joined us last week. Am spending very little (being unable to walk to the shops yet helps!) but have no idea what the bank balance even looks like, which is unusual for me.

BoffinMum · 05/04/2014 13:04

Lots of NSD to report, plus I am checking YNAB daily and have it all set up properly for the first time ever!

BoffinMum · 05/04/2014 13:06

Good bargain to report - taking Mum to London for her birthday and discovered I can get two first class returns for 39.90 for the pair booked in advance, which is cheaper than the standard class fare!

CoolCadbury · 05/04/2014 14:05

Congratulations possiblyorange and welcome to cutieorange Smile

AdoraBell · 05/04/2014 14:12

Congratulations Possibly Thanks, and cutieorange is such a lovely name, good choice Wink Grin

Ellisisland · 05/04/2014 14:13

Congrats possibly Smile

£65 spend here on weekly shop. It's a free listings weekend on eBay so have put up 5 things today and all have bids already which is pretty good. Am off for Easter holidays so will get back on track with organising bits and want to review some DD etc. working full time is fine if only I can have a two week break every few weeks to catch up with everything ! Don't think my boss will go for that somehow Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 05/04/2014 14:20

Congratulations possibly Thanks

Ellis I always get free listings on eBay Confused

Possibly congratulations Flowers

NSD here so far but need some aunt Bessie stuffing balls for my chicken tomorrow so may have to pop out to get them.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/04/2014 15:36

Congratulations possibly Flowers

£8 on two G-Clamps. Just what I always wanted.

We have smart price stuffing here. Dh never noticed the change because I put it in the old paxo box.

LizLemonOut · 05/04/2014 15:44

congratulations possibly, hope you're recovering well Thanks

What's YNAB, boffinmum?

NSD here, went to the farm with a packed lunch and stayed away from the cafe Smile

I'm trying to get into the habit of not automatically replacing something if it runs out, so if dd has eaten all the bananas then that's it until next week, and she has to make do with apples (or whatever).

springbright · 05/04/2014 16:15

Congratulations possibly!

I've just had a huge clear out in the loft so will have to start selling asap. It's all in dd's room and she's back on Monday!

Have also used some of my free time to visit b&m. It sure was a highlight picnmix! Egg noodles and stir fry sauces for 29p! Unfortunately I then popped in to m&s simply food and came out 12 worse off!

Jinty64 · 05/04/2014 16:28

Congratulations possibly how lovely Thanks

ohhelp our Co-op reduce things to half price first thing in the morning and then at 5/5.30pm reduces what's left to pennies. It's pot luck if there's much left but I have had some fantastic bargains.

£16 yesterday on Easter eggs for the teachers (sucker) and a few reduced bits for the freezer.

NSD today so far.

Possiblyorange · 05/04/2014 16:46

Thanks for the congrats Smile. We're all doing really well, can't wait to start getting out and about a bit more.

Liz I have tried to develop that attitude a bit more - when something is gone it's gone until the next food shop.

ilovepicnmix · 05/04/2014 16:49

Congratulations possibly

Glad you got some bargains springbreak I know it's v sad but I bloody love that place.

2.12 in asda on some sweets and yellow stickered fruit and veg. I went to look at new specs but I really need to take someone with me for a second opinion. I have decided to do online dating next month before I become even more intolerant and selfish! However, I really need a bit of a makeover which might be difficult on a budget.

27 on petrol and 9 something in aldi on nappies, wipes and a few bits.

BoffinMum · 05/04/2014 17:37

Yes, Thanks congratulations! Grin

CremeEggThief · 05/04/2014 19:41

Congratulations Possibly. How lovely! Thanks.

£77 on hair cut and colour and lots of waxing, prior to our holiday on Tuesday! Also, whatever €15 is in sterling, sponsoring a friend in Ireland who is shaving her head for a cancer charity tonight, and £5.50 on Greggs for lunch and cheesy chips for tea!

insideleg · 05/04/2014 19:45

Cheesy chips?! Dammit I want cheesy chips now! 3.10 in the pub today.
Congratulations possibly!

Iamnotanugget · 05/04/2014 19:47

Congratulations possibly Thanks. Our dc3 is due in a couple of weeks so I'll be looking to you to calm my last minute nerves!

I shop monthly and I used to replace things but I'm much better at judging how much stuff we'll use so we rarely run out but if we do it's tough. There's usually something that can be substituted in the house. It definitely saves money.

I've had a couple of unexpected things to pay for so we're over budget Sad. Going out with friends tomorrow but will take a packed lunch and give dc their spends at the start of the day to minimise cost. New month starts on Friday will limp along until then.

CremeEggThief · 05/04/2014 19:55

They were delicious too, inside leg :).

insideleg · 05/04/2014 20:04

I bet they were cremeegg! Tuna pasta bake in the oven. Very disappointed. Sad Grin
