Fanta great tip, thanks :) Will keep that in mind. I have already saved receipts on nappies, in case she grows fast, I can exchange to a bigger size, but didnt think about it with clothes...

Italian I had the opposite problem with nappies and had to buy smaller ones, so kept my enormous stash of larger ones! Also, you probably know this, but visitors bring gifts and often buy the 0-3 month size so you end up with a lot in this size and then nothing when she grows. My DD had some dresses which she didn't even wear - what a waste!

ItalianWiking84 · 27/04/2014 19:28

Fanta how sad with the dresses. All my family live abroad so they have specific asked what we would like, so have wished for typical Danish things, things like toys ect., that can last longer. But yeah expecting still a lot of clothes in that size, so we have mainly focused on the next step, hehe. Was warned by friends that we would get so much in newborn size.

CremeEggThief · 27/04/2014 19:37

£6.90 treating DS to hot chocolate and a doughnut, as he read a prayer at the Scouts St.George's Day service really nicely. And I bought him some waterproof hiking boots on my card, as he needs them for Scout and school camps, but they were only £13.49 in Mountain Warehouse.

ilovepicnmix · 27/04/2014 19:39

That's me at my mum's. Sitting next to DS's travel cot waiting for him to fall asleep. He's usually so good at going to bed but not tonight!

NSD.

Most of my top tips have been given but one is to save money, if you're in a position to, whenever you get paid. If I wait till the end of the month then it's spent. If if I move it to my isa straightaway I don't miss it.

NK5BM3 · 27/04/2014 20:07

We have dd to go out into savings pots and in the last couple of years have been raided but hopefully we can start saving again.

Having said that, was looking at flights for summer and it's going to cost £4,500 . Just flights. Argh.
Gotta rethink. Like get the grandparents to fly over.

Seriously going to end April with only one NSD. Tomorrow will be off to Paris for work reasons. All spends will be work claims but still... Sigh,

See you guys on the may thread... !

MissMysticFalls · 27/04/2014 20:09

OK here's another one from me, sort of 1a. I said for tip 1) treat money as time I.e. When I spend money, I think of it as time spent away from my family or friends or fun, earning it.

1a is for fellow freelancers. Money is time, so if you have the chance to do more work if you have more time, then work out whether it's worth getting a cleaner, someone to mow the lawn, or ordering take away, than spending time doing it yourself. Tonight we ordered takeaway pizza (50 percent off) to free up time and incentivise me to work this evening instead of shopping for, preparing and clearing up after dinner.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/04/2014 20:17

Nsd

CoolCadbury · 27/04/2014 20:42

Yes, ilove I adhere to pay yourself first too.

AdoraBell · 28/04/2014 03:05

SpottyTeacakes · 28/04/2014 09:54

Phoned up southern electric and after managing to persuade the lady I wasn't stupid and didn't think I was £1100 in credit I got her to transfer £250 into my bank acct. not sure how that'll work with the switch over that's happening on weds hopefully it'll come in tomorrow Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 28/04/2014 12:21

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 28/04/2014 13:14

Got these gross tomatoes from Sains this week and complained via website and they're sending me a gift card. Still feel a bit sick when I think of them though.

MissAnnerserly did the toms smell or taste bad? Tbh that looks like what's grown in my garden, we cut the dodgy bits out. Although having said that I'd probs expect perfection in exchange for Sainsbo's prices.

So, today I will need to buy plastic cutlery and Tabasco for tomorrow's gastronomic day in schoolHmm

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 28/04/2014 13:39

They tasted normal, but they were expensive organic ones and there were black bits in every one in the packet. I would normally not have complained but I had to throw away about 1/3 to 1/2 of the flesh of each one so I had to use way more than I would normally and then buy more.

OP posts:
springbright · 28/04/2014 15:21

Well done miss! I need to practice 'complaining' more often...specsavers replaced my broken glasses for free, no questions asked on Saturday. I was so pleased. They were from the cheap range and the thick plastic of the frame had snapped but I do tend to throw them around sans case. I had thought id just buy a new pair but the new found frugal in me thought it was worth a try as is had them for less than 6 months. Lenses were in new frames and I was out the door in less than 10 minutes. Fab customer service!

CremeEggThief · 28/04/2014 15:54

84p on organic milk from Tesco. I used my 30p off voucher!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2014 16:23

Does it taste nicer than normal milk? It is meant to be healthier for you because of the higher omega fats than normal milk and the cows are higher welfare too. Talking of vouchers there's meant to be a Lidl voucher this week, it was on facebook this morning.

NSD.

I need to ring first direct so I can switch my business account and stop getting charged business rates.

I've been complaining more recently, it does work 90% of the time and the arrogant ones who don't admit fault you don't have to shop with again. Furniture village I'm looking at you Angry

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 28/04/2014 16:30
