As we filled the old thread, thought I'd start a new one for February.

Freelance, there are local selling pages and also dedicated ones such as Boden, nappies, baby stuff etc. do a search and then pm any you are interested in joining. They all have admins and rules much like eBay, and on the whole it is great. No fees or listing costs either which is fab. I always list a price then say "plus postage". Once items are bought the buyer decides how they want it delivered eg 1st, 2nd, registered, so no hidden postage costs either. I've found if way more efficient and much friendlier than eBay. Give it a go!

Helena still got fingers crossed for DH's Job search.

North hope your DH recovers quickly from his op.

Lilac Yay for DH's Job.

I'm sat in a coffee shop while DH has a meeting upstairs and DDs have some time alone in a cheap clothes store. I'm right outside and they know there's no money available if they want the requisito trainers for school in 2 week's time.
DH is currently juggling between our joint account and his CC. Later I need To get sanipro ( as luck would have it I'm needing it less frequently so might not need To buy for all 3 of us after all) salad and bin liners.

AdoraBell · 21/02/2014 15:49

£3 - was actually my breakfast Blush in the coffee shop.

AmberSpyglass · 21/02/2014 16:03

We can encourage one another, then, bigbirthdaygloom!

One thing I really need to do after I've sold my current lot on eBay is delete the app from my phone. Way too easy to "just have a look"

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2014 16:13

Well things are looking up for me, I've had an email saying my incoming £47000 is ready, I just have to click on the link & log in to Internet banking. Except I'm not with lloyds.

So that's nice.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/02/2014 16:29

AmberSpyglass · 21/02/2014 16:35

That's great, fluffy! could you send us all the link so we can do it too?!

:D

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2014 16:39

I don't see why not because there's loads of other recipients on the email too, it must be a special offer.

For special people.

AmberSpyglass · 21/02/2014 16:55

Seems legit.

£12 on waxing and £2.20 bus fare and doughnuts, so £14.20 altogether.

Hope everyone has a good weekend :).

AdoraBell · 21/02/2014 18:09

Well I'm sulking because I didn't get that e-Mail Fluffy, obvs not special enoughAngry

We've had lunch out which looked expensive but wasn't really £15 each for DH and I. We both had fish of the day which was fresh tuna and we've taken 2 tuna steaks home - huge portions. We also has salad and chips in that price. DDs shared a £6 pizza. He's gone off yo get the tyre sorted and DDs are having moré fashion víctimas fun in Top Shop now. I'm still not buying anythingGrin

Dosey · 21/02/2014 18:19

Hi there, I haven't checked in this week but its not been good.

Monday - dp logged onto the amazon account, he credited it £35.00 worth of birthday vouchers in December. I didn't realise this so when I have been buying stuff, my electric toothbrush, books for my kindle, dds music, I thought it was all being paid from the credit card which is assigned to the amazon account. It has been taken from his vouchers instead! I pay the credit card off every month didn't miss all the amazon purchases I had made! I owe him this money now!

Tuesday - I have lost the shed key, no sign if it anywhere. We have no spare (I lost that one too). We had to take the door off its hinges, and then buy a new lock!

Wednesday - I sold one of dds cardigans on eBay, it sold for 99p I put £2.00 for postage. The postage cost £2.60 so I made 39p there (then dds nattered for 10p sherbet each so really only made 19p)

Thursday - We had a free family voucher for the local gym which was lovely we spent all afternoon in pool and steam room, then I left my watch and dds tangle teaser in the changing room. I have phoned today and nobody has handed them in.

I dont know where my brain has been this week. I blame half term chaos!

Friday - Two fillings at the dentist costing £51.00 Sad. I popped to tesco for milk. They have 50% sale on clothes. So I bought dds clothes for next winter but I do feel that was frugal buy.

I am just about fed up, loads off stuff have popped up this month that I didn't expect. Got a week until pay day to hopefully get some nsd in.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2014 18:30

It will get better Dosey. We all have bad times & lose things.

BigBirthdayGloom · 21/02/2014 18:42

Amber-I will also delete the eBay app! I've bought two unnecessary things in the past two weeks and it just reminds me of stuff I would like but don't need.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2014 18:45

Right, I've just gone on facebook and typed "towns name selling" and several groups come up, some are closed groups.

Lots of people flogging baby stuff.

If your town doesn't have a group you could always start one or use the closest towns page.

Ppl on my fb selling group are weird. £7 for used kids trainers etc, I mean really?! Some other ridiculous priced stuff too. Bargains to be had though Smile

ilovepicnmix · 21/02/2014 19:19

That's great news lilac

75 for a deposit on a weeks holiday in a lovely lodge in September. I had planned on 4 days at haven but then invited my mum! she turned her nose up at haven so posh lodge it is. She is going to pay half to be fair.

silkknickers · 21/02/2014 19:45

£11ish in Tesco's - and managed to use my £3 money off voucher before it runs out tomorrow. (Am very pleased with myself for finding it in my purse!)

Someone on one of these frugal threads suggested filling handwash dispensers with cheap bubble bath, so have done that today.

Turned down an offer to go to a theme park today, so in effect have saved myself about 30-40 quid Grin

FreelanceMama · 21/02/2014 20:14

Thanks for all the Facebook advice.

NSD yesterday but 20 today on topup shop and 5 on books via eBay (work ones - resisted buying fun ones). Made pizza dough felt v frugal then DS refused to eat it!

claretandamberforever · 21/02/2014 20:28

I've got 3 rolls of border (wallpaper border) the Next mini design. how much do you think I should ask for it on a selling group. I think its discontinued x

lilacclery · 21/02/2014 22:33

amberspyglass I really shouldn't ask but what cloth nappies have you got for sale?

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes for dhs job, no celebratory takeaway but have my sis and her boyfriend staying tomorrow night so will open one of the two bottles of champers we've been storing for a special occasion & the other will be for our sons christening in two weeks.

Dh did shopping today so I got to go to town to nappucino have lunch and just do little errands under no pressure with two children, felt like an afternoon off! A real treat.

NK5BM3 · 21/02/2014 22:40

Spent £25 today. Paid for dinner with my students plus some starters. Good night everyone,... Knackered beyond belief and tomorrow bright and early to prep for ds party. Yikes.

claretandamberforever · 21/02/2014 22:53

I am completely and utterly overwhelmed. I have been spending money like water this month. I've totally lost track of my spending, have spent on credit cards and misplaced receipts so I have no idea of what to pay, we've hired a skip at £90, am having a joiner come in to do a few odd jobs next week at £45, bought DS1 a bed £110, bought a new printer and some spare ink (£60), bought some trousers and a top for my new job (although I am taking the trousers back tomorrow as they are too tight). HOW CAN i GET BACK ON TRACK???
