New thread for June....welcome all!!!

OP posts:
economymode · 18/06/2012 14:22

Thanks for the congrats. Although I'm feeling pretty grotty at the mo and vowing never ever ever to do it again. Ever.

Only about 8 weeks gone, so am realistic and know things may not pan out exactly how they should. What happens, happens.

So, acupuncture is £40 a session. Plus £120 for scan tomorrow. And we were doing so well up until now Sad.

CremeEggThief · 18/06/2012 15:47

Oh that's lovely news, economymode. Congratulations :).

economymode · 19/06/2012 09:25

Thanks, CremeEgg. How are you doing?

I am feeling a bit better about the money aspect of this pregnancy so far, this is precisely why we try and keep our regular outgoings to a minimum and save what we can.

CremeEggThief · 19/06/2012 11:28

Starting to come out of the shock and slowly feel more human now, thank you economy mode.

All the best with your scan. X

milk · 19/06/2012 13:33

I've been without internet Shock

CremeEgg I hope you are ok!

My NSDs are awful Blush She report back when I actually manage to complete one! :P

FaceCrack · 19/06/2012 21:42

cremeegg hope you are doing Ok. Glad you are feeling a bit better and hope you've got some fam and friends helping you through.

economy congratulations, lovely news. Hope you aren't feeling too rough.

We've had a busy few days with lurgy, mostly! Yesterday was £3.40 for lunch eaten at 4pm from works vending machine due to a busy shift. Today I spent £1.50 on a coffee then £74 in Sainsbos. I should have driven the extra 5 miles to Lidl but didn't want to battle through London traffic.
Tomorrow needs to be NSD.

AdoraBell · 20/06/2012 04:09

Cremeegg

So sorry to read your news, I haven't checked on ths thread fir a while, try to take care of yourself.

Economy

Congrats, hope your nausea eases off soon.

Milk

It was a really good, newly opened pasta and pizza placed-owned and staffed by staff from a fantastic Italian in the capital. Lovely food, very well cooked and presented. It was the opening night, fully booked, but they accommodated us because we went in early (7pm), they had a set menu but again accommodated OH's alleged alergy and DD2's fussiness.

I've been spending, mostly groceries and fuel but today splashef out £15 on afternoon tea with the DDs, had to be done. Tomorrow I'm shopping for an anniversary gift for OH and I have no clue what to get. I also need to get to the vet's to see how much we owe him.

Leilandri · 20/06/2012 09:34

It's DS1's 3rd birthday today Shock Can't believe how fast time flies.
We are going on a steam train cheap tickets bought with Groupon to the beach. My parents are buying lunch as we bought tickets, and then we shall mindlessly waste spend some money in the arcades :)

CremeEggThief · 20/06/2012 10:23

Oh that sounds like a lovely birthday treat, Leilandri. Enjoy your DS's special day :).

Thank you all again for the support. It means a lot to me.

My sister's coming today for a couple of days and my mum on Monday next week for a few days. My aunt phoned last night and I know she meant well, but she wrecked my head. I need people to listen right now, not jump in with their opinions. I had a wobbly night, as a result.

AdoraBell · 20/06/2012 14:34

We'll listen CremeEgg, sorry you didn't have a good night.

Well, I still have no idea what to buy the OH, but I do need to buy warm tights for school and some more cleaning products.

Economy good luck with the scan and I hope the acupuncture works for you.

economymode · 20/06/2012 18:39

Thanks, AdoraBell. Scan went well, we have a 7-week old blob with a strong, regular heartbeat. But still early days so not taking anything for granted. No idea if the acupuncture is working (still feel very grim, had a break down at the Children's Centre today...) but at least it's a relaxing half-hour.

CremeEgg, I know we don't know you in RL, but sometimes venting online to relative strangers is just what you need (if it helps, I'm moaning some in the pregnancy threads at the mo, not that you're moaning). So, please if it helps to vent on here, please do. I'm really sorry to hear you had a bad night, I hope today has gone better for you. Just a thought, but do you have any friends you and your son could stay with for a while, just until you get back on your feet? Or do you not want to be around people?

Leilandri, I hope you had a wonderful, wallet-friendly day - great day for the beach!

Spending-wise, I'm shelling out on Gaviscon and ice pops. Sigh.

Leilandri · 20/06/2012 20:08

Fab day here Grin
DS1 has been a treasure today, and has deserved every present that he has recieved, and he's had bloody loads of them! could've saved our money and not got him anything
Didn't spend much today either, only £4.20 in the arcades, but we had alot of fun for our pennies, so that is what matters.
Got to splash the cash a little tomorrow, as I won an auction on ebay for a shed for the allotment Hmm so that'll be £57 and blood, sweat and tears to put it back together My dad is driving to get it tho, paying to re-felt it, and for guttering to collect the rainwater, so it's a family thing!!

CremeEgg can't imagine how awful you must be feeling right now, so rant away whenever you need to if it helps

economy 7 weeks how lovely - so a New Year baby then? Fab excuse to spoil minieconomy this Xmas Grin

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 20/06/2012 21:10

Yep...NSD are not going well!

Bought my eldest charge (am a nanny) some clothes...she's been teased over what she wore last weekend so I bought her some bits. and we went through her wardrobe together to piece together outfits....took forever but we're all happy now!
In my defence, I got 4 dresses, jeans, 2 vest tops, 3 pairs of leggings and some flip flops for £20...excellent H&M sale!

And er...I'm currently in a taxi....I feel like shit though and I cant be arsed

Greedygirl · 20/06/2012 21:49

Hi everyone

CremeEgg hope you have a better night tonight.

Leilandri sounds like a lovely day had by all! We are going to the seaside at the weekend.

Economymode congratulations! Hoping the nausea passes soon. Horrid!

Well I am offically just crap at NSDs! Been spending on my credit card again due to lack of forward planning. Rah! Am fed up. Still haven't followed the very sensible advice of getting cash out at the beginning of the week so I am DETERMINED to do it starting on pay day. I am going to do a spreadsheet and everything! Got to get some of these debts under control.

Milknosugar what a lovely nanny you must be! You deserve a taxi ride!

FaceCrack · 20/06/2012 22:01

I'm another one not doing well. Forgot my oyster card so had to buy a travel card £8.40 and topped DHs up with £20 while I was there. Then £3.50 for some parmasan and cream as was making tomorrows dinner for the kids who we nanny share with. We take it in turns to do main meals as batch cooking is easier and cheaper.

milk would you like to be our nanny. That was v kind of you. How old is she? I bet she was over the moon.

leilandri enjoy your shed. It sounds like you and DS had a lovely day, happy birthday!

adorabell what sort of things is your DP into?

I'm out tomorrow evening with a pal but I'm going to look up some restaurant vouchers and not drink to make it cheaper.

AdoraBell · 21/06/2012 00:20

Face he's a simple soul my OH, all he really wants is a Porsche 911 and a racing yatch. Neither of these are things we can afford, or I could justify buying even if we could.

I didn't get anything today as he was with me, we had a lovely lunch and meandered round the shops. He bought a door mat and I got cleaning products but no school tights available. I hope to have time to look around either tomorrow, after the dentist, or Friday.

Economy glad the scan went well and I hope the acupuncture kicks in soon. I remember the Gavisvon days well, hope that eases off really soon

Milk that was a lovely thing to do.

Leilandri well done on getting the shed, hope you have lots fun growing things on your allotment, do you a have plan for planting yet? I know diddly squat about growing veg etc, so you could tell me you plan to grow Martian carrots and polka-dot peppers and I'd probably believe youBlush

notnanny · 21/06/2012 00:31

You can get a £5 free range chicken in Aldi. Yesterday I cooked one I thought was also £5 from Morrisons - but it was £5 per kilo. I spend so much time agonising over prices and then this happens.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/06/2012 17:09

My morrisons is doing "seconds" fruit, I got a bag of little oranges which must weigh 3lbs at least for 15p. It's still fresh in the bowl now.

Is anyone elses local morrisons doing this too?

They had big bags of salad potatoes too for 35p for a 5lb bag. I'd just paid £1.75 for the same size at the farm shop, wasnt impressed at all.

AdoraBell · 22/06/2012 02:56

Spent a little today unexpectedly

Paid a bill £40
Had an hour to kill so coffee and cake £4
DDs spent some of their hard earned, but not yet handed over, cash £6
Snack with DDs £8
Roads £2

FaceCrack · 22/06/2012 08:31

Yesterday was expensive.
£28 in JOhn Lewis for a birthday present for our godson and also got some paints and paper for DD
£28 for pizza and wine in pizza express
£20 on drinks in the pub.

I'm going for 3 NsDs now.

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 22/06/2012 09:13

Thank you Blush she totally deserves it though :)

Im on a second NSD by the looks of it...because I bank with poxy NatWest!!

CremeEggThief · 22/06/2012 11:35

Thank you again, everyone, for being so lovely and kind :). Mumsnet at its finest!

I had a lovely couple of days with my sister, just chilling out. She told me she's eight and a half weeks pregnant, so hopefully I am going to be an auntie at long last! :0

CremeEggThief · 22/06/2012 11:35

:o

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2012 12:24

£5 aldi voucher in the daily fail today

Leilandri · 22/06/2012 18:26

What lovely news CremeEgg couldn't come at a better time - something positive to focus on :)

Spent £13 on bits for the shed today - hooks, battery light, shelving and so on
Spent £53 in Asda - some bits for food for DS1's Bday party tomorrow, his gorgeous train cake my baking attempt went badly wrong and some wellies for a "festival" themed hen party I am going to next week.

Tomorrow will be a NSD as have to clean the house in the morning ready for party, then party 2-4pm undoing all the effort put into cleaning and then DFiL is visiting with DS1's Bday pressies and staying for dinner, so should be a lovely day Grin
