Naice ham?

milk · 16/06/2012 09:17

Leilandri could either buy her meat in bulk and freezes it, or she gets Organic sliced tongue, lamb chops, and rib eye steaks :) If I won the lottery I know I'd die young after all the red meat I'd eat daily :(

Leilandri · 16/06/2012 09:28

milk last time we went to our meat man we got enough meat to last us 3 months, and we have meat with every meal! Can't remember everything now, but know that there was 2 whole chickens, 8 chicken legs, 8 large chicken breasts, 4 joints of gammon, 5x400g bags of diced steak, 4x400g bags of minced beef, 10 duck legs, 10 packs of bbq ribs + more..... not bad for £100 really :)

Sold a baby bouncer chair on FB yesterday for £15, so reinvesting that into a bundle (14 items) of next-size-up clothes for DS1 for £9, and a £6 profit :) Loving the facebook buy/sell sites Grin

milk · 16/06/2012 09:50

Leilandri - meat with every meal (I assume this is dinner only) Shock What about fish and dairy/veg? £100 isn't bad though as it works out as £8.33 a week :)

What are these Facebook buy/sell sites?

roguepixie · 16/06/2012 10:15

Morning Laydees.

Had a brilliant posting going then managed to delete it ... bugger.

Suffice it to say, hope you all have a great weekend.

Free listings on Ebay this weekend - 100 free listings at £1.00 or above.

milk · 16/06/2012 11:15

My NSD failed when I stupidly went into Lidl :( Why did I go in?!?

They were selling Milk Chocolate Hazelnut bars (100g) for 19p each. I may have bought quite a few Blush

roguepixie · 16/06/2012 12:06

Oooooooooh milk, never never, go into the confectionary section of Lidl's ... never ...

milk · 16/06/2012 13:00

roguepixie - I agree :( So my NSD turned into a day where I have so far spent £9.31 Shock but I plan to spend no more!

Leilandri · 16/06/2012 13:31

Milk DH does actually have meat with every meal - bacon/sausage butties for breakfast, roasted gammon in sandwiches for lunch, and then meat in some form in our main evening meal - he's very carniverous!! Don't eat much fish in this house, never found anything that we like, tho the DS's will have tuna or fish fingers and we'll make fish pie occasionally, and our dairy bill is quite high too, we are all cheese monsters!!

As for the Facebook buy/sell - in the search bar at the top of FB type in "buy/sell(+ your local town/area)" and you'll probably find a few groups. Amazing what can be sold, and no fees or postage like Ebay. I'm currently selling all of DS2's outgrown bits and bobs as he'll be our last baby, and selling it will discourage anymore :)

milk · 16/06/2012 17:06

Leilandri From my experience, if a man wants to do something, there is no changing their mind!

I'm going to look on Facebook now, thanks :)

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 16/06/2012 17:22

I don't WANT to join but I think I better had!!

Am trying to not spend anything on unnecessary things until we move Wink and am trying to use everything up, toiletry wise but god I hate having boring showers and rubbish shampoo! I'm a toiletry junkie so have tons of stuff left to use!

One thing I definitly spend to much on, and I'm always embarrassed to admit it, is taxis! They're not necessary but after a very long day at work when I'm stressed etc, the thought of 2 buses and a 15 min walk is crap! It takes a little under an hour door to door so not hideous but I hate it....although when we move, its still 2 buses but a less then 1min walk so Tbh I can easily stop it then iygwim ......I really am embarrassed when so many people are struggling that I'm spending it on taxis

milk · 16/06/2012 18:52

A taxi is better than a stretch limo MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky :P

Wait "you hate having boring showers"... considering your next place won't have a bath shouldn't you be having a bath 3 times a day :P

So folks, my total spend today was £9.31, but my dad came round so I got a tenner Grin so I'd up 69p :) I love MilkLogic :P

But tomorrow will definitely be a NSD! I have no reason to spend at all (at the moment)

AdoraBell · 17/06/2012 04:37

My planned NSD turned into dinner out whilst shopping for DD's underwearShock

So, roads £2
Dinner £30
Undies £25

Tomorrow we are staying home because OH has requested a Father's day spent at home without just nipping out for any reason at all. His day isn't costing too much either, chocolates from DDs and roast lamb with all the trimmings from meGrin, he'll be a happy bunny

milk · 17/06/2012 07:00

AdoraBell - Where did you eat out? (We'll forgive if it was somewhere tasty :P)

"Roast lamb with all the trimmings" - Grin super yummy!!! You have 1 lucky OH. My poor DH is getting nothing Blush although I did change his desktop wallpaper with a porny photo :)

CremeEggThief · 17/06/2012 09:15

Hi All, I am having a hard time in RL right now, so haven't been on for a while. After 15 years together, married for 9, my H admitted he is seeing someone else and has chosen her over us.

This has been one of the worst weeks of my life, but the tiny silver lining is there have been lots of NSDs :).

economymode · 17/06/2012 09:25

Oh, CremeEgg, I am so so sorry to hear that. x

FaceCrack · 17/06/2012 09:47

Oh cremeegg is there anything we can do? Where are you? How are you? Bastard. Angry

Leilandri · 17/06/2012 10:17

oh CremeEgg so sorry to hear that you are going through that :( Anything we can do? Thoughts are with you xx

DH has gone off to work today with me completely forgetting that it is Fathers Day - so no card, pressies or even a smile from DS's both grumpy in the mornings Blush
Have rummaged in pressy drawer as I knew I had some bits in there for today, so he shall come home to 2 scribbled cards, a toblerone and "No 1 Daddy" teddy for his desk at work, and Roast chicken with all the trimmings and maybe two smiling children
Planned NSD today, as we can survive another week without a meat man visit, so a day of laundry and allotment as the sun is showing itself for a few hours.

CremeEggThief · 17/06/2012 11:53

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate your kindness.

I am just taking it one day at a time right now and doing nothing I don't have to. I am exhausted, so spending a lot of time just lying on the sofa and watching t.v.

Oddly, I feel a bit better since we told DS the news yesterday, as it was a huge strain keeping it from him for a week. So far, he's coping well, but I know he's going to be up and down.

Financially, I am ok right now. I have got a 30 minute free consultation with a solicitor tomorrow morning. I might even do it with another solicitor, just to see if their advice concurs. But it is very early days.

Thank you all again and I will post whenever I am able.

Superduperdoo · 17/06/2012 13:22

Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time CremeEgg

I've managed to go since Wednesday without spending a penny. We did go out last night but OH funded my drinks and pizza and told me to leave my purse at home. I'm going to need a bag of apples today for the packed lunches because we are out of fruit and maybe some bread and milk but that should be it until Tuesday.

Greedygirl · 17/06/2012 19:12

Oh crap CremeEgg, that is awful. My SIL has been through similar over the past year and I could cheerfully thump my BIL in the face repeatedly for everything he has put her through. How old is your DS?

Hoping for a NSD tomorrow as back to work. Today was at a village fete type thing and found myself buying an owl/candle hanging thing, nowhere to put it and not even sure I like it now Angry - took my eye off the ball there! But on a positive note, a French Connection swimsuit that I had my eye on is half-price in the sale so I have saved myself about £20 on that.

Hope you have all had a good weekend.

roguepixie · 17/06/2012 21:33

Oh Creme, I am so sorry to hear your news. What a dreadful situation. I have no real pearls of wisdom: just to take one day at a time, get as much advice as you can and take things at your own pace. As hard as it may seem, it appears that if you can remain calm and collected about things it places you firmly in the right. Cuddle your DS and take time for yourself.

Not a NSD here. Father Day has seem a bit of a spend: bottle of champagne for DH and a nice dinner. Hoping this coming week will be better.

Am starting a diet tomorrow so out will go any silly spending on crap and snacks out.

economymode · 18/06/2012 08:54

A pretty expensive few days coming up. Baby two is finally brewing but as a result I have hideous nausea and am now chucking our savings at acupuncture to see if this will help (have tried various prescription drugs to no avail). If it seems to help, will investigate it on the NHS.

Also am having a private scan tomorrow to check is all ok as I am ultra paranoid after a rocky pregnancy last time. GP surgery won't refer me for one on the NHS, not surprised since they wouldn't send me for one after I miscarried last time, just said that it looked like I'd miscarried and would find out at my 12 week scan. Unsurprisingly, I went for a private one then too. (I was fortunate in one sense in that I was carrying twins and one survived.)

roguepixie · 18/06/2012 13:52

economy ... WOW ... congratulations on your wonderful news. I would be the same as you - go for your private scan and get some peace of mind. Don't try to measure the expenditure - get yourself sorted and try to find a nausea cure (I know ginger is meant to be a good solution).

Leilandri · 18/06/2012 14:04

congrats economy hope you manage to ease your nausea soon, in the meantime relax when you can with a Brew

My run of NSD's is over today :( Have spent £2.50 on coffee at mummy meet-up, BUt resisted staying for lunch and came home instead. Spending £13 on some secondhand happyland bits, but £10 of that is Bday money given to DS1, so not too bad really.
