Anyone got Covid?

DumpedByText · 27/09/2025 19:39

I've had bad cold for a few days and I never get colds. I've been getting progressively worse, awful cough and I did a test tonight. It came up positive straight away. I only tested as my dad is 83 so needed to stay away if I have it.

I feel grim, but I'm working tomorrow so will have the get on with it.

Anyone else suffering?

I've never tested for COVID but I think I might have it looking at the description on the bbc this week. Had a rough throat all week which usually goes and moved onto other symptoms with a standard cold. Can't stop though as too busy so ibuprofen it is!

graceinspace999 · 04/10/2025 10:52

I have had really bad sinus pain and headaches for weeks.
I also think our water tastes like mould!
A lot of people have drunk our water and they all say it’s fine.

I didn’t join the dots before but now I’m wondering…
Could this be covid?

Myblueclematis · 04/10/2025 11:08

I had it at the beginning of July, took around three and a half to four weeks for me to feel fairly back to normal.

Started with sore throat, ears hurt, headachy, slight runny nose then no taste or smell and a cough. No appetite to speak of (highly unusual for me) struggled to fancy anything to eat.

All fine now but really don't want that again. 😡

chosenone · 04/10/2025 11:50

Had it for 2 weeks, really lingered. I ached all over before, then the sore throat and then peak snots, coughs and sinus issues, exhausted, slowly started to feel better but with ‘head cold’ symptoms that lingered.

Worth doing a test. I have Covid now, which includes sinus pain, and everything in the kitchen seems to smell of garlic. Not nice garlic, old rancid garlic.

CanIbeRio · 04/10/2025 16:25

Had it for 2 weeks - only tested cos I felt sooo tired and a bit 'coldy'. Tested as i care for vulnerable mum. Apart from feeling tired and under the weather, ive been really ok - luckily very mild for me

I did a test and it was negative. Still got terrible sinus headaches. I’m trying to swerve antibiotics as it’s two weeks for a sinus infection,

Did anyone feel better only to then feel much worse after a couple of days?

Yes me!!
Had 2 days where i felt awful, headache, cough, sneezing, temp. Day 3 felt ok, just tired but like I'd turned a corner then today I feel dreadful again.

RedRiverShore5 · 09/10/2025 05:56

I had a cold at the weekend, on Monday it felt a lot better so I went out for a walk and to the shops, then it come back with a vengeance and I still feel awful now, headache, cough sore throat, cold, don't know if its Covid though. I ordered a grocery delivery for this morning as I felt so awful, got out of bed early again today as couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake DH. Hope it's gone soon.

SoOriginal · 09/10/2025 20:18

I’ve been really ill and suspect Covid. Very sore throat, full of cold, banging headache and my sinuses/ears/nose completely blocked. Lost my sense of taste and smell and can’t stop falling asleep. Slept 6pm to 8am yesterday. I’m on day 10!! I’m 36 and had Covid 5 Times before, never like this. Cough wasn’t too bad.
I also felt better after 4 days, only for it to come back with a vengeance on day 5!

giveyourselfapresent · 09/10/2025 22:33

I think i have. It's exactly the same as when I last had it in 2023. Hips and thighs aching, headache, cough, can't sleep, alternating between too hot and too cold, zero appetite and gassy/refluxy. Horrible

Brightbluesomething · 12/10/2025 13:19

I’ve tested so I know I’ve got it. Started with a really sore throat but no other symptoms. Then coughing in a meeting and by the end of the day I had a high temperature and no energy. Snotty nose and no appetite started the next day. High temperature lasted 3 days and throat is fine now but snottiness and constant sneezing still remain alongside general lethargy and dizziness if I stand for too long. Plus a level of boredom that requires me to scroll/post far more often on MN.
Only my second time having Covid but I’m vaccinated up to the eyeballs so god knows what I’d be like otherwise.

Hey everyone,
I am writing today as a student journalist and am creating an article on the new strands of Covid. I want to raise awareness amongst the youth and young adults of the damaging symptoms of these Covid strands and how they are particularly bad in causing an immensely sore throat. I feel as though this would be greatly beneficial for some of my class mates to hear about people's personal experiences with Covid in recent weeks to encourage them to get the recent vaccines.
If anyone is open to having a chat with me it would be greatly appreciated to spread awareness, and I will attach my details below.

There’s excessively tight criteria to access the vaccines though.

Yes understood, however the recent strand prevalent in now 80% of cases is named Stratus and is especially linked with what the media is calling a 'razor-blade throat' - so if anyone has an especially sore throat through Covid please let me know

grandmashotdoodlebugs · 14/10/2025 23:18

Haven’t bought any new tests so can’t give you the 100% but I have been quite unwell this week

sneezing, aches and fatigue 10 days ago. Went away. Came back 4 days later. Worsened to fever next day, 4 days of fever. No appetite. Dreadful aches and pains. Sweats. Nausea sickness, wind and stomach pains really painful in my stomach which has worked slowly down through my guts. Diarrhoea - really bad from day 3, slowing day 6. Some wheezing and sore throat starting up on day 5/6
It’s day 7 tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get out of bed and eat something !

I had swine flu once - reminds me of that.

DS said it was Covid NB 1.8.1
Cheers son!
