Anyone got Covid?

DumpedByText · 27/09/2025 19:39

I've had bad cold for a few days and I never get colds. I've been getting progressively worse, awful cough and I did a test tonight. It came up positive straight away. I only tested as my dad is 83 so needed to stay away if I have it.

I feel grim, but I'm working tomorrow so will have the get on with it.

Anyone else suffering?

I’ve just spent 3 days in hospital with covid and pneumonia. I’m 44 and do have a few autoimmune issues but genuinely never felt so ill in my life. They only let me home because my husband is now home to watch me and get help if necessary. I was shocked at how unwell I was - I’ve had covid 3 times before and it’s just been like a mild cold.

@Pepperedpickles You poor thing, hope you're recovering ok and rest as much as possible as it helps prevent risk of long covid.

I've currently got it for the 4th time. Started with a fever which went away by second day. A couple of days in, I have terrible sinus pain, I'm exhausted and weak but on the mend I think. DH has just come down with it as well and he's resting.

Thanks. So sorry for you. Hope you feel better soon. I had terrible sinus pain too. Rotten isn’t it.

It’s hit our house too. My adult dd has it, the rest of us are okay so far. Hopefully we don’t catch it

PegDope · 28/09/2025 18:44

DD brought it home from work. She was sick for a few days but bounced back quickly.

DH then got it and he’s on day 3 of a persistent cough and today he has no smell or taste.

I fortunately seem to have escaped this one!

dragonbreaths · 29/09/2025 22:32

pretty sure I have it. feeling really unwell last 5 days, and now have strong smell of smoke all today.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 29/09/2025 23:06

I had it last week. Two days of feeling really poorly and OK after that. However, I kept testing positive for over a week! I always test as I have a vulnerable elderly mum who lives in a care home.

AutumnyCrow · 29/09/2025 23:13

I keep falling asleep and I’m not really eating much.

I suppose I’d better test myself.

K73c · 30/09/2025 11:28

Hi, is v blocked sinuses symptom of this variant? Hope those with it recover. I have fibromyalgia & CFS as dreadful getting too ill x

TheGander · 30/09/2025 16:06

Yes, I felt I had a cold but as I have tests lying around I did one and it was positive almost immediately. Headache, aching muscles, sleepy. But my appetite is fine. It seems less aggressive this time round.

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 30/09/2025 22:56

Pretty sure I’ve got it. Awful cough, and fever. Grrr.

WatieKatie · 01/10/2025 00:06

Myself and DC both tested positive today. We’re both at day 3, fever, achy, bunged up with a very runny nose, limited appetite and feeling sick when I wake up but not been sick. The tiredness is the worst part - I have to keep going back to bed. Thankfully I haven’t lost my sense of smell or taste or had a sore throat. Hoping I’ll start to feel a bit better tomorrow.

sadmillenial · 01/10/2025 02:32

ive had it 6 times now..... the fatigue never gets easier

cannynotsay · 01/10/2025 02:37

You don’t have to go work tomorrow you can call in sick OP, especially if you’re that unwell

Pepperama · 01/10/2025 02:42

Partner and DS have just had it, both felt pretty unwell for a week. I seem to have escaped - have tried to stay away from them, lots of ventilation etc

WannaFOffOnHoliday · 01/10/2025 02:49

The News is saying these new varients maybe worse. I really hope not

WinterNightStars · 01/10/2025 03:51

DH has had it & is absolutely floored with it. He’s had headache, sore throat, runny nose, hoarse voice, fatigue, cough - now testing negative but the tiredness is really persistent & he’s falling sleeping every afternoon.

Tonkerbea · 02/10/2025 17:39

Did anyone feel better only to then feel much worse after a couple of days?

AutumnyCrow · 02/10/2025 17:45

I tested negative but we’re all down with something.

crazycatladie · 02/10/2025 18:21

I’ve got it at the moment. Started 5 days ago with a dry throat, then got a runny nose and very tired. On the mend now but this time I’ve been feeling so nauseous.

3pears · 02/10/2025 18:26

I’ve recently had it. Such a sore throat for ages then full of cold, painful head, ears and sinuses for days. Went away and then the sore throat came back. Ten days later and I’m completely fine now. It’s everywhere round here, seems to be flooring a lot of people! I didn’t have a cough with it this time. I think this is my third time of having it although the first 2 were 2020 and 2021. I suppose I could have had it in between but haven’t tested. I only tested this time as I work with vulnerable children and can’t go in with it

AutumnWreath · 02/10/2025 18:26

Myself and dh have only had it once but going by the spike , and hearing it's leaving people feeling pretty shit we had private covid jabs today . Cost us £80 each .

Timeforabitofpeace · 03/10/2025 09:27

I’m recuperating from it. Considering my awful lung health, it wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated. I had a very sore throat, a sore chest, hoarse voice, headache and a streaming cold. I slept more than usual . was pretty much over it within 5 days, though.

Timeforabitofpeace · 03/10/2025 09:30

I was still testing very weakly positive after 5 days, negative when I tested again after 7. But I felt a ton better and almost well on day 6.

beezlebubnicky · 04/10/2025 10:44

I haven't been positive since day 6 but I'm still having after-effects. So exhausted and on doing simple activities, I often get a high heart rate and sweat profusely. Also chest pain on and off. It's very unpleasant.
