Booster side effects

I think I'm done with these boosters now. I've had all 4 and have had no side effects at all until the last one yesterday. It's awful , I feel like I've been hit by a train , every part of me is in pain , terrible headache and a fluttering in my chest . Feels like something has been flowing through my veins and I haven't slept all night and I'm going out today . I feel like the living dead .
Has anyone else had such a reaction to just the last booster , apparently it's new to combat omicron.

I wonder if your reaction to covid would have been the same? It's not nice is it. Hope it passes soon.

Thankyou . I'm not generally a sickly person so this has been a shock . I've not had covid so can't compare .

My DH had his booster yesterday, the new one and was told about headache which came on about 2 hours after. He felt a bit off all afternoon and only managed a small dinner as he felt sick. His arm aches today, but headache and other symptoms have gone, he’s knocked a cup of tea over as he couldn’t lift it from shelf. He’s having his flu jab tomorrow, he will have it in other arm.

QueenOfWeeds · 02/10/2022 11:02

Sympathies OP, that sounds miserable.

I had mine a few weeks ago - no side effects and couldn’t even tell I’d had it (not even an achey arm).

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/10/2022 11:04

I'm not looking forward to it at all, I know more people than not who have had really nasty reactions to the jab,one who couldn't lift her arm for a week!

Berlinlover · 02/10/2022 11:10

I haemorrhaged for two days after the first booster. I’ve no intention of taking another vaccine.

Swannning · 02/10/2022 13:07

Had mine yesterday, my arm feels so heavy and I feel the same as I did when I had COVID, hoping I can shake it off before I go back to work tomorrow.

KangarooKenny · 02/10/2022 13:16

I’ve heard of a few people having side effects after the new jab. My first AZ put me in bed, but I was fine after the second and a Pfizer. I’ve now had covid, so not rushing for another jab. I’ll wait and see.

hattie43 · 02/10/2022 13:37

Thankyou everyone it's nice to know I'm not alone . I really hope that's it now and no more nasty side effects once these have gone .

I've had the first two jabs but no more. The palpitations have not gone away and I'm not prepared to risk it. I had Covid and it was unpleasant but not terrible but the vaccine made me feel much worse.

RubyTrees · 03/10/2022 17:34

Which vaccine did you have @hattie43? Was it Moderna?

hattie43 · 03/10/2022 18:31

@RubyTrees

No it's one I've never heard of , Comirnaty. I do feel better today but still sore under arm , wrist and injection site .

RubyTrees · 03/10/2022 20:23

Thanks, I see it's made by Pfizer.

Your first day sounded awful, glad you're feeling better now.

Ragruggers · 03/10/2022 20:28

Awful side effects from the 3rd but I have a medical condition.Had the booster last week, felt really awful,so tired, out of it.DH also had side effects ,joint pain, tiredness,Arms were sore but not painful. Will not have another.

UrsulaPandress · 03/10/2022 20:32

Had Moderna last Sunday and I’m still not right. Two days in bed. A day of throwing up Headaches. Joint pain. Aches. Fatigue. Utterly crap.

FannyFifer · 03/10/2022 20:35

I had the Pfizer Cominarty bivalent yesterday & have a slightly heavy arm but no other side effects.

HideTheCroissants · 03/10/2022 20:56

I had jab number 4 last week. Moderna with the added Omicron bit. Previously had two Astra Zeneca and one Moderna with nothing more than a sore arm.

This time I felt really ill overnight and arm was bad for three days. Not nice but far nicer than the Covid I had earlier in the year. I will certainly be accepting any more they offer me…..

Beautifulsunflowers · 03/10/2022 21:01

Had my 4th booster today and my arm feels heavy and painful to move it but feeling ok other than that - maybe a bit more tired but I’ve come to bed early to sleep it off!

bronzepig · 03/10/2022 21:13

Hope it's ok to jump on and say both my parents & CEV friend have had the bivalent booster and felt absolutely fine bar a sore arm the next day.

I think these threads can sometimes be a bit concerning as obviously people don't tend to bother to add a post saying they didn't have any issues!

Flowers to everyone feeling rough and hope you make a quick recovery

lennonj · 04/10/2022 20:06

Had mine on Sunday, Moderna. I had a very achy arm Sunday and Monday morning and that’s it. All the other jabs I’ve had have been Pfizer.

happystory · 05/10/2022 09:59

Moderna here. Shivered all night and have a headache and sore arm today, but feeling better by the hour

Amarette · 05/10/2022 10:03

I had the new Moderna booster yesterday. Feel dreadful today. Mainly headache and joint pain. Really bad joint pain - throbbing hips, elbows, wrists, lower back. Makes me feel like a very old lady with arthritis.

My parents had it and no side effects at all.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/10/2022 10:51

It's worth remember that a reaction to a jab isn't a bad thing, it's your immune system responding. Saying that,I'm really not looking forward to mine!

Tomnooktoldmeto · 05/10/2022 18:27

Had flu and covid jabs yesterday (Moderna)the advice was to really hydrate well to avoid the headaches which I’ve only had mildly but my arm is very painful and today I’ve developed corresponding pain in the axillary area

I do have autoimmune conditions and other areas are feeling like I may go into a flare up

Twiglets1 · 05/10/2022 18:36

I had the 4th booster (Moderna) and had a sore arm and flu like symptoms for 24 hours.
