Currently got covid. Seem to be over the worst of it just a bit of cold symptoms now. I tested positive start of the week and I am due to go on a very long awaited day out with friends on Saturday and holding out hope I will be negative by then, although had another very much positive test this morning. How many days after testing positive did you get a negative?

I'm not doing a test to see if I'm negative. Tested positive last Thursday

overthinkersanonnymus · 07/07/2022 22:11

I'd like to know this too! Day 6 for me and still getting a strong positive

FTMFML · 07/07/2022 22:12

Following with interest as OH tested positive on Monday!

Jaffacakeinmypocket · 07/07/2022 22:14

I had covid last month and was positive until day 8, felt unwell for another few days after that though, bad headache with dizziness and nausea

Holidayyys · 07/07/2022 22:15

How long did you isolate for? Avoid people for before getting back to normal?

Tested + last Tuesday, still + today. Ds tested - after five days.

On day 7 LFT was a little fainter. By day 11 it was negative.

Holidayyys · 07/07/2022 22:18

My hopes of testing negative on day 5 are slowly dwindling.

As per recommendations, I isolated for 5 days ( after which no cough or temp) then wore a mask around people in more enclosed spaces like shops until 10 days.

We're on holiday in a villa so have managed to stay away from the general public for at least 5 days which is what is advised in the UK. Ds and dd also had it and dh has avoided it (he had it around new year and the rest of us avoided it then)

Blackalice · 07/07/2022 23:45

Day 6 super faint, day 7 clear

PipeScatter · 07/07/2022 23:56

I had it when you still had to isolate but could break isolation early with negative tests in days 5 and 6.

The line on the day 5 test was stronger than day1! I had to wait out the full 10 days for a clear test plus I'd been ill for about 3 days before I tested positive too.

WarriorN · 08/07/2022 06:06

You don't need to test to be released, just stay away from people for 5 days (test day is day 0)

3 for kids

Blogdog · 08/07/2022 06:14

I’m on day 8 and still testing positive. Symptoms pretty much gone though.

DH didn’t test negative until day 14.

ParadiseLaundry · 08/07/2022 06:18

I had covid nearly a year ago and every LFT I've taken since has been positive (Had several PCRs and all negative) so I wouldn't wait for a negative test to go out tbh!

ScarlettDarling · 08/07/2022 06:22

If counting from onset of symptoms I tested negative on day 10 after a still strong positive on day 9. If counting from first positive test, it was day 8.
I had a very mild case and by this point had no symptoms at all but tested as I was due to be working with a lady undergoing cancer treatment so wanted to be cautious.

underthelights · 08/07/2022 06:27

Tested negative after 11 days. Still have symptoms though but feel a lot better.

CheekyHobson · 08/07/2022 06:39

i tested positive on a Tuesday and was negative by the following Tuesday. I did test on day 4 and it was still positive but fading. I had a really mild case though.

SloppyHousekeeper · 08/07/2022 06:41

Day 13

PinkButtercups · 08/07/2022 07:05

Tested + on Monday. Symptoms started on Monday. Tested again just then and have a very very faint line that I had to squint to see. So hoping tomorrow I'm all clear from it. Wish the cough would piss off though!

BotCrossHuns · 08/07/2022 07:21

Day 13. And even then, if I squint, I can still see where the positive line would have been, kind of.

BotCrossHuns · 08/07/2022 07:23

sorry, I meant Day 12, as I forgot you don't count the first day of a positive test.

But it was pretty faint from Day 9 onwards. Didn't come up immediately like it first day, and wasn't as strong/thick/dark line from then onwards.

OxanaVorontsova · 08/07/2022 07:27

Am also hoping for a negative tomorrow but the way I feel today I can’t see it happening, or being able to do anything anyway. I have a much needed haircut booked and no idea when I’ll get another appointment🙁

SatsumaZoom · 08/07/2022 11:46

I'm really confused (it could be down to covid brain fog!!) So apologies can someone tell me what I need to do re isolating:

Symptoms started mildly last Saturday.
Negative tests until Tuesday when I got a strong positive. I have felt really unwell (but no temp). Today I feel like I've just a nasty cold and sore throat and cough (but not continuous). Tested and still strong positive. When can I go back to work? Or go to co-op?!

I'm currently isolating as best I can but I've got young kids.

Can anyone explain? Sorry I just can't figure it out!
