I had someone in work last week and he sounded like he had a cold. He was testing negative on the home tests. I wasn't overly concerned. I don't think he usually experiences hay-fever or sintitus. I don't know what his symptoms were aside from the head cold stuff.

Over the past few days I experienced a fever. My fever went as high as 39.1. It was slow to respond to over the counter paracetamol and ibuprofen. It did come down but it was up and down for the past 2 days. My fever is now under control and its about 36.9 and it is staying down.

I have another condition where I am easily prone to infections so I honestly to god, don't know if it's flare up of that condition or if it's me coming down with a viral dose that I was exposed to last week.

Now it feels like I might be coming down with a head cold.

This time a very mild cold, but mucosal immunity comes into it, so it's going to be different for everyone, especially if they were vaccinated quite recently or it's a repeat infection. - It was a little worse last time - swollen sinuses and loss of smell.

I had a headache, sore throat and cough for about 5 days, I work in a school so did a couple of tests over the five days all negative.

Then on Tuesday felt incredibly tired just exhausted and had a really sore throat, tested again but it was negative. Wednesday gradually felt awful as the day went on, head ache, shivers, muscle ache, fever and cough got worse. Took test Weds evening, strong positive straight away! Felt awful all night, fever , sweats, coughing to the point of vomiting. Felt a bit better by the morning and since then just tired, aches, fever on and off and exhausted.

DH had it first and is on day 8 and feels fine apart from a cold and a mild cough he never really felt ill and he took a test this morning which is still faintly positive.

Its not pleasant but not the worst , I have had 4 vaccines , DH has had three.

@XenoBitch I have discovered that the tests work just by applying saliva to the bit where the activation liquid goes. Got a blazing positive doing that, had done another test the normal way earlier.
@Itsjustamoment I had an appointment with my GP over the phone and managed to get some stronger painkillers as the OTC ones where not helping with the aching joints.

Has anyone else has weird moments of pins and needles feelings in different bits of your body?

Think I am on the mend but it could just be I have my symptoms under control thanks to medication.

Day 2 of testing positive for me. It's honestly been worse than I expected. I think I naively thought that since I've had my 3 jabs it would just be a mild cold! So far I have aching muscles, very sensitive skin, shivers, temperature, chesty cough, awful blocked nose and congestion and feel dizzy most of the time. I spent nearly all day in bed yesterday and was managing okay as I could sleep but last night I hardly got any sleep due to the blocked nose and congestion pain. Hoping it can only get better from here! I'm self employed so won't be paid for time off which is going to be hard. Hoping I will test negative and feel better asap. Look after yourselves guys, being poorly is never nice, especially with all the other things people have going on at the moment! Flowers

@Springblossom2022 I can really recommend night nurse to help deal with the congestion at night, Ive had insomnia all week with it but that did at least really ease my breathing which helped me feel more comfortable. Get well soon. I was identical to you for about 3 days but I'm now on day 5 and feeling much improved..I'm self employed too so feel your pain x

The worst headache ever, mainly on the right side.

Was coughing and had a headache, negative test Monday but cough worsened so I retested Wednesday and got a strong positive. Didn't feel too bad in myself Wednesday but it hit me like a ton of bricks on Thurs, headache, every bone aching, cough, cough, cough, one minute hot, next minute cold and I was just lay on the sofa.

Friday saw the high temperature fade but I was cold. Managed to sit up. Still tired and then the gastric issues hit and I spent a good few hours in the loo.

Today, still coughing, no headache, no temperature, still aching, especially my ribs, and still tired. Have risked eating some toast for lunch so fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for the recommendation, I'll definitely try that. I'm really hoping I'll feel better tomorrow as it's really getting me down now, I've not felt this poorly for years. Good to hear you're starting to feel better ❤️ This is the only major downside to being self employed 😞

Sore throat for two days
sore throat plus ill feeling - tested positive
then temp spiked to 39 - took paracetamol as felt awful.
day 4 today - more scratchy throat, temp staying down w paracetamol that I took in the night, lethargic/weak
I felt worse in March 2020 when I suspected I had covid. Barely moved from bed for 3 days.

TenoringBehind · 12/07/2022 10:51

Ds had it last week.

coughing lots
sore throat
elevated temperature but not a fever
aching limbs

he wasn’t particularly unwell with it. Only tested positive for 4 days.
