My husband is triple jabbed and he has tested positive for covid today. Had symptoms from yesterday- mild cough, fever (now gone), and lethargy. When he tested yesterday was negative, but tested positive today. When he got symptoms I asked him to maintain some sort of distance which he refused and we were in the car a few times as well.

I haven’t had the booster but had two doses- daughter had covid and I haven’t had it until now.

How bad is it for anyone without the booster? I’m getting worried now…

Bump??

You’re bumping after 5 minutes?

Honestly most people don’t care now. You should have got the booster if you were that bothered.

Smartiepants79 · 01/05/2022 21:05

No body can really answer this for you. Your body will react in its own way.
I’ve know people with no jabs Saul thru it with barely a sniffle, people with 3 Jabs who had it 3 times and felt pretty crap every time.
The illest I’ve been in recent memory was caused by having the booster.
You’ll most probably feel a bit rubbish for a few days and then it’ll be done.

2022babyhope · 01/05/2022 21:07

Why won't he keep his distance if you've asked him to?

AskingforaBaskin · 01/05/2022 21:18

I had it after three and was bad for about 5 days. Couldn't do anything and was in a lot of pain with body aches.

DH just had it with three jabs and we only knew because his pre op covid test came back positive. He would never have known without it.

ifoundthebread · 01/05/2022 21:21

I didn't have the booster and covid was a mild cold for me for about 12 hours then I was fine.

MissCrowley · 01/05/2022 21:24

I've had 1 jab and apart from sore throat, fatigue, loss of smell and taste for a couple of days; everything else was neurological. Had really bad migraines for about 3 days and serious nerve pain throughout my body. Also I was shattered all day. I suffered with fatigue for about a week after and have been fine since.
I think it affects people in different ways.
My DH who has also had the 1 jab just had body aches, headache and felt fluey for a couple of days.

Vallmo47 · 01/05/2022 21:27

It affects people differently like everything else.
Hope you all feel better soon OP, you sound pretty anxious ❤️

marymaryquitecontrary820 · 01/05/2022 21:28

I've had no jabs and was fine no worse than a cold. You will be fine

Flapjacker48 · 01/05/2022 21:36

why bump a thread after a few minutes? Biscuit

JoeGoldberg · 01/05/2022 21:44

We all had it before jabs were even a thing. Just like a regular cough and cold virus. Had it again last month and much the same but with an added sore throat from hell. Other than that, no big deal.

dizzydizzydizzy · 01/05/2022 21:47

Everyone's different. I had covid in mid February and have still not recovered. Think I have long covid. I've had the booster.

MyGiddyAunt1 · 01/05/2022 21:51

Thank you all- I’m concerned as after losing my dad to Covid , I’m planning on visiting my mom after 2 years- we want to have a memorial for him as there was no funeral. I’m scared that I’ll end up in the hospital and not be able to visit her…irrational possibly but covid has taken so much from my family that I’m still struggling with it all

OP posts:
MyGiddyAunt1 · 01/05/2022 21:52

I feel a little tired but I suppose I’ll know tomorrow- I told him sooo many times to keep a little distance and calm down with his activities

Grumpybutfunny · 01/05/2022 22:12

I'm positive right now feel like I've got cold. Think I've had it for about 5 days, DH has slept in the same bed all the time and we haven't distanced he's still negative.

The body ache are interesting but it's nothing I'm worried about

MyGiddyAunt1 · 01/05/2022 22:19

@Grumpybutfunny thank you- that’s reassuring

PortalooSunset · 01/05/2022 22:21

I'd had no jabs when I got it. Spent the best part of a week in bed and lost half a stone. Didn't eat because I didn't have the energy to chew.
Friend who is triple jabbed just had it and was wiped out for 2 weeks.
4 of us in our family btw, 2 got it and 2 didn't (we didn't distance indoors at all) so it's not inevitable you will op.

AskingforaBaskin · 01/05/2022 22:22

DH has had it twice as well and I just the once. Never at the same time we shared beds and never distanced and never passed it to the other, we haven't had it the same time

LoveSpringDaffs · 01/05/2022 22:24

Flapjacker48 · 01/05/2022 21:36

Well, your post was hardly any better was it?

MyGiddyAunt1 · 01/05/2022 22:57

@AskingforaBaskin thank you- I’ve had vit c and zinc today and will continue for the next few days…

I've heard really good things about that.
Completely anecdotal but my husband was on a lot of that as we were trying turmeric shots for his surgery and they had those in. And that was the covid he was a symptomatic for.

Beammeupscotty1 · 01/05/2022 23:07

No jabs and never had covid either, didn't know people still worried about it

Pootle40 · 01/05/2022 23:08

Had it pre any vaccine and post all 3 jabs and was exactly same - cold and a bit wiped out for 48 hours.

powershowerforanhour · 02/05/2022 19:03

"How bad is it for anyone without the booster? "

Bearing in mind timescales most people who had it after 2 vaxes but not a booster probably had Delta, or possibly Omicron mk.1
Anyone getting now will likely be getting Omicron mk 2 ie milder

Terzani · 02/05/2022 22:58

Two doses are just fine for Omicron. I had it in March after 2 doses (both jabs last year) and it was like a prolonged cold, with fever on the first night, then stuffy nose and fatigue. Husband, who has diabetes, had it after 3 doses, with more or less the same symptoms, plus body aches.
Besides vit C and Zn, open the windows and stay in the sun as much as you can, because you need more vitamin D than before. You can also add curcumin, quercetin, melatonin and other supplements.
