As such Health Metrics in England update. We'd best all start getting used to Wednesdays. Although I do note that the update on the dashboard about moving to weekly reporting does conclude with This decision will be kept under review in the coming weeks. We'll see. 🙄

But first off this is the ONS Covid 19 survey picture from last week

Hospital admissions in England - percentage change in seven day average

followed by the comparison back to pandemic start

and the more current 2022 vs 2021 comparison - all these graphs now running June to August

and NHS regional rates per million population - this from start of May

and this one going back to start of last November

now the same set of graphs for the number in hospital. Hopefully in the same order. A school night, not that I have any DC at school any more, but a school night nonetheless so no🍷🍹or🍺

This should be the growth in the seven day average

whilst both admits and number in hospital both well above this time last year the latest seven day average for number on mechanical ventilator beds whilst rising remains below that seen at the same time last year. This is the full year comparison.

and the June to August period

deaths within 28 days of a positive test by date of death continuing a more gradual upward trajectory - seven day average back over the 50 mark, although this is some way below, at the moment at least, the peaks seen earlier this year, and hugely lower than the Jan 2021 peaks.

the more recent period, as the seven day average is on the up the lag applied is just three days, so that apparent levelling off is not real

then this shows both the actual daily figures and the seven day average - the dotted lines towards the far right of the graph showing the period for which data is not yet complete
