OP posts:
linerforlife · 20/03/2022 13:10

It got me last week for the first time too OP. Rest up, I found it passed really quickly.

Dancetherain · 20/03/2022 13:59

Me too. Tested positive on pcr on Friday after dd2 got a positive lft. Lots.of cold symptoms but also nasty cough. I've avoided it all this time despite it being in the house twice and I've worked in a hospital all the way through!

Spudina · 20/03/2022 14:02

Me too OP. I nursed COVID patients and dodged it but have a weak positive lateral flow today and feel pants. I’m glad to get it over with (even though it does screw up my plans)

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/03/2022 14:03

Me too. Currently on Day 6. I guess it was only a matter of time.

catsandquails · 20/03/2022 14:06

Me too. Feeling really lousy!

Samsalone · 20/03/2022 14:08

I hope you feel ok! But as a nurse you must know that you can get it more than once unfortunately? I always wonder when I hear people saying they are going to ‘get it out of the way with.’ A relative had it much worse the second time than the first and I know someone on their fourth run Shock. I’ve dodged it so far.. no idea how keep thinking it must be my time…
LostStars39 · 20/03/2022 14:09

Yeah it’s finally got me too! On day 5 at the moment and just so tired and wiped out. I genuinely thought I was immune, it went round my whole office a couple of months ago, and I car shared with my friend who was coughing away for an hour and then tested positive and I still dodged it! But my time has come… rest up and get well soon x

Tree543 · 20/03/2022 14:12

Me too. Only day 1 but feeling ill since Wednesday. Caught it off ds, 1/3 of his class are off with it by far the biggest outbreak there.

Spudina · 20/03/2022 14:13

I know I can get it again, but more antibodies are welcome to me. I’m hoping it covers me for a while.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 20/03/2022 14:32

Me too OP. I have managed to not catch Covid until 2 weeks ago. I was working throughout the pandemic and never caught the virus. I had my third vaccine and stiop felt awful. In bed for three days. Just getting over it. My OH and both my DS's caught covid at the same time and they all only had cold like symptoms. My DD didn't catch it and she still hasn't caught covid.

Beekindbeehumble · 20/03/2022 15:19

Same here, caught last week.

MrsAmber · 20/03/2022 15:37

First time for me too, OP!

Day 1, feeling achy, itchy throat, fuzzy head.

DH said he feels the same but has tested negative!

Frosty1000 · 20/03/2022 15:39

First time here as well, day 7 and still feel rough.

Chellors123 · 20/03/2022 16:08

Same here, have had symptoms since Thursday but tested negative until today!

Infracat · 20/03/2022 16:29

Me too. I tested positive on Friday night. Feel rough with full on cold symptoms, streaming eyes, blocked nose, fatigue and aches and pains. This is my 2nd full day in bed.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 20/03/2022 16:31

Me too! And with three kids at school/Uni I really thought it would have got me long ago.

Has been no worse than a cold though, certainly not ill enough to be in bed. And at almost 50 I'm no spring chicken either.

Santaslittlemelter · 20/03/2022 16:33

Every single person who avoided it the last two years has it this week😂 including me, sister, DH and a load of other people I know.

Blimecory · 20/03/2022 16:35

Yes, me too. Everyone I know who has never had it now does.

Blimecory · 20/03/2022 16:36

My DH is very ill. I’m less so, but knocked for six. We have very different symptoms.

BusyBeaMe · 20/03/2022 16:41

What is it about this week?! I know so many of us who have avoided it until now who have caught it!!

I tested positive on Thursday. Thought I had it super mildly, but really sore dry throat and raspy cough started last night. I’m currently hiding from the chaos downstairs as the children got over it in a day or so and are now climbing the walls. Only DH has currently dodged it this time…

tedgran · 20/03/2022 16:44

My stepdaughter as well, consultant in intensive care, has avoided it for two years. Feeling crappy, probably due to being knackered like all health workers.

Nearlythere28 · 20/03/2022 16:52

First time for me too. Kind of glad I’ve had it now and developed some natural antibodies. I’m day 8 still testing positive but feel fine now. It felt like a very quick short flu. Hope you get better soon

Badbadbunny · 20/03/2022 16:56

@BusyBeaMe

What is it about this week?! I know so many of us who have avoided it until now who have caught it!!

Inevitable now that no one's taking precautions anymore. Just because it's not law/rules to wear masks, social distance, etc., people could still have made an effort, but it seems no one cares anymore, hence the current high rate of infections.

areyoubeingserved1985 · 20/03/2022 17:04

I have dodged it too, what we can't understand is all through the part 2 years husband a d I have been working and son was in the keyworkers nursery none of us have had it. Other family members who have been wfh and no school have had it twice now.

Undermyblanket · 20/03/2022 17:23

After 2 years we decided to take a weekend away.
Came back last Monday woke up Tuesday feeling like death warmed up.
Barking cough, runny nose, hot, cold, aches.
Yet DH is negative.
