All 3 of my dc have had covid over Xmas.
I didn't catch it. Most of last week I felt a burning in my chest and very, very mild sore throat. I have been lft testing every couple of days as I'm NHS and they have all been negative.
Last night I just felt like testing as my throat felt kind of thick and it was an instant strong positive.
Today I feel fine apart from the very very mild sore throat.
I'm double jabbed and boosted in Nov.
Will it get worse ? My eldest dd triple jabbed felt the same, youngest dd not vaxxed but eligible is still suffering 4 weeks later.
I'm really hoping it will be mild so I can just carry on!
Did anyone feel pretty much OK all the way through?
I mean recently with the new variant.

I was very poorly over Xmas with what did sound like classic but severe omicron but I tested negative.
DH was absolutely fine, just felt a bit tired but thought it was due to other things. He had a Dental appt just after Xmas so just tested for that and was positive. We tested the dc and both of them were positive too!
Only symptoms were tiredness, DD had a slightly sore throat and felt a bit poorly

Theunamedcat · 06/02/2022 11:59

Ds has it now zero symptoms apart from a runny nose

Lily2075 · 06/02/2022 11:59

Tested positive just before Christmas, coughed occasionally felt a bit warm but don't own a thermometer so don't know if I had a temp. Barely felt ill at all. Am triple jabbed and think that must have made a big difference.

Moff2k · 06/02/2022 12:01

That's what I'm hoping , that the booster will have done its thing. I can cope with a mild sore throat and tiredness.

I’ve got it now. Got slight headache but still planning on doing daily exercise. Also sort of ‘under water’ feeling.

Triple jabbed and take a gut health proto biotic which may help.

Littlegoth · 06/02/2022 12:04

I had it in December. DS and DP were bed ridden and I felt a bit tired on the day I tested positive but normal other than that. Double jabbed.

mulberrybag5 · 06/02/2022 13:22

I just feel foggy in the head and like I’ve got a heavy chest. Day 5 x

garlicandsapphires · 06/02/2022 13:25

Day 5, completely fine though positive test. At worst: runny nose, some fever - but altogether very mild…

Moff2k · 06/02/2022 13:37

Are you all triple vaxxed and boosted ?

OP posts:
ChristmasCurry · 06/02/2022 14:13

Triple jabbed.
Day 0 - runny nose and muscle aches.
Day 1 - 5 - runny nose.
Day 6 - 7 - Feel fine but still positive.

if not for testing positive on Day 0 , I would have gone to work as normal.

Keepgoing88 · 06/02/2022 14:56

I tested positive last summer I only tested because I felt a little bit off and everyone I lived with had Covid…. Honestly, I was absolutely fine just felt a tiny bit off like I was coming down with a cold but I never came down with it if that makes sense!! I have had a cold for about two weeks now and this is far worse!!!!

thinking123 · 06/02/2022 15:02

We are all day six. All completely fine, I have a very slight stuffy nose but that's it. Feels ridiculous to be isolating

thinking123 · 06/02/2022 15:02

Obviously we aren't going to break isolation but it feels ridiculous

Ilovecrumpets · 06/02/2022 15:30

I currently have it. Day 5 and like a very mild cold. Had one evening and morning where I felt a bit worse but even then totally manageable and then after lunch it just completely lifted! I do feel quite tired is the only thing.

Was boosted similar time to you OP.

Agree it is weird to be isolating

KurtWilde · 06/02/2022 15:45

We had alpha covid January last year, positive tests. For me it was headache and loss of sense and smell and taste, cold like symptoms but nowhere near as bad as colds and flu I've had in the past. High temp for the first day then normal again. Could easily have carried on with my life if we hadn't had to isolate.

Milder still for DC, main symptom was red eyes and a scratchy throat for a day or two then back to normal.

KurtWilde · 06/02/2022 15:46

Obviously that was pre-vaccines too, and the original covid. Honestly had worse colds.

Blubells · 06/02/2022 16:01

I've been exposed several times by several household members both before and after vaccination and I've never managed to test positive...!

frazzled101 · 06/02/2022 17:40

Me and my 3 year old both have covid, I'm fully vaccinated and had my booster. He has had zero symptoms, I had the slightest bit of a scratchy throat and a very occasional sniffle/headache. Honestly it's nothing.

I appreciate we've been very lucky.

Whitefire · 06/02/2022 19:28

DH had a sore throat and felt a bit tired the day before he tested positive (doing daily LFT'S as DD was positive) but that is pretty much it.

goldfluffyclouds · 06/02/2022 20:00

i had delta in november - felt like a mild cold - very sleepy for one day, a bit off for the next day - not vaxed at all
had a regular cold between christmas and new year - felt horrific
hopefully the anecdotes put your mind at ease - you've had all the jabs so you'll be fine... hopefully you get a chance to use this to rest!

HufflepuffPride · 06/02/2022 20:04

Sniffly nose was my main symptom. Slightly altered sense of taste with some things as well.

Pixies74 · 06/02/2022 20:14

Day 4 and I've felt up and down but generally very mild. Initial symptoms were a sore throat and general groggy feeling, next day felt very lightheaded, day after I felt a bit sick... Sore throat comes and goes but have definitely had worse, some heartburn and more tired than usual.

Am triple-vaccinated.

Try not to worry. We had it and 2 out of 5 in my household only had mild symptoms, the rest had zero symptoms.
Tanfastic · 06/02/2022 20:20

DS age 13 has it, day 6 still positive and no symptoms.

He had a slight headache and watery eyes on day 1 for a few hours which prompted the test. Been fine ever since.

onewednesdayindecember · 06/02/2022 20:25

Double vaxxed and boosted, I just had a blocked nose for a couple of days
